What can I say? Place is run down, Server was quite late in greeting us, the Food was less than stellar. I ordered my Enchilada with Hatch Green Chile as I had lived in New Mexico for 9 years prior and I get it is probably frozen and then thawed out but they were very stingy with the amount given. Beer Selection? What Beer Selection? I think Taco Bueno and Rosa's is better and we only go through the Drive Through for both of those places. Only gave it 2 Stars because I understand that is is probably a great, economical place to eat if you have children but for some reason I expected more. read more

Server was friendly, chips/waters were refilled fairly quicky, order came out quick and the food was fresh and tasty. Atmosphere was lively but not packed because it was after lunch rush and before dinner rush. Never been to this location but I was impressed. Keep up the good work! read more

If I was just reviewing the chips and salsa and service this would be a five star place. The food was just ok, and I was disappointed. For me cheese can make or break a Mexican dish, and here what seems like processed cheese is used in multiple dishes. read more

I loved everything about this place, wait time was decent, our server was super nice, and most importantly, the food came out better than expected! Will definitely be coming back for more. read more

Just as good as I remember it.... we have been wanting to go to this new one for a while and finally made it out a few fridays ago. Had a LONG wait, but good margaritas, so it flew by. The loaded queso (not sure what the name is) is the BOMB.. it will be your whole meal! I love that you can get their fish or shrimp tacos grilled instead of fried, and on corn tortillas instead of flour. YUM... My hubs had the fried version and he said it was great also. Others at our table had kids chicken fingers, cheese enchilada, and the chili relleno. All were good. The kids chicken was prob the best kids meal - i was impressed... I just love their chips and salsa and everything about the place. Worth the wait! read more

Tex Mex at its best!! The best chili-con queso, margaritas, Relleno with Boom Boom sauce. They also have good fresh salsa and you can tell its fresh by looking at it. The only thing I dont care for is the wait. Even with all the Chuys which have come up all over the DFW metro area, the wait is usually 45 min. The light at the end of the tunnel is well worth the wait. They also have a great tres-leches cake. read more

The good news is that Chuy's Addison is open! The reason why this is good news? The wait at the Addison location was 45 minutes, while the wait here at the west Plano location was 0 minutes. Walk in, am seated. Score. I came here last night (National Tequila Day!), but my headache quickly reminded me that tequila would be a bad idea. As a result, I'll be celebrating this weekend instead. Anyway, my coworkers were talking about Mexican food all day because of Tequila Day, so I knew I had to have Mexican food. (Tex-Mex. Mexican. Whatever. Chips and salsa.) After a quick nap and a phone call to get an idea of wait times, I headed up to Chuy's in Plano. I was seated right away, and even though they were busy, my server was very attentive. I never wanted for anything. Normally, when a solo diner with a book is seated in someone's section, the server usually tends to err on the side of "totally ignore that person so as not to interrupt them"; that was NOT the case at Chuy's last night. My server (Eval?) was attentive, but not to the point of being annoying. My food came out super fast and super fresh. Chips and their fresh salsa (and some quesoooooo) really hit the spot last night. I wanted flan, too, but man. I was just too stuffed. 4 thumbs up! read more

My wife and I tried Chuy's for the first time last week. We didn't know how awesome this place is. I wish we knew about it sooner. Chips and salsa are awesome. We shared an order of the fajitas for two, and they were excellent. The atmosphere is great. The restaurant is also clean. We plan to go back this evening. read more

Pleasant Experience! We went in on Sunday evening right before Sunday night football, the place was busy the staff was working hard to keep customers happy- loved how the manager jumped in to refill our drinks and introduce himself. We are big fans of the creamy jalapeno sauce, we did not feel rushed and enjoyed our meal from appetizers through dessert. read more

Met my kids and their family last Friday night. Place was busy and lively atmosphere. Chips and salsa brought to table was great we had the best waiters Very pleased with the food we will certainly be back again as it it one of our fav places. read more

Delicioso! Just as I remembered as well from my college days in Austin. Glad they are here in Plano/Dallas! This place is great if you want inexpensive and good Tex Mex. I will say that it gets VERY LOUD inside the restaurant with noise and voices. Maybe not the best place to take a first date unless you eat outside or at the bar! Great homemade Tortillas! And the salsas are great! read more

I always claim that I'm not a big fan of Mexican food but it's certainly growing on me. I do like the food here..I've had a burrito with the tex mex sauce and quesadillas and both were great. What I don't get is the atmosphere...they were playing old school rock, there are fake palm trees, and mexican food. Explain that.. Service is fast and attentive, never have a hard time at lunch, even with larger parties. read more

This is a great Tex-Mex restaurant! I'm not from TX so when I was here visiting Chuy's was highly recommended. I was especially pleased with the special Nachos appetizer, great size for two ppl to share and generous with the guacamole and jalepenos. The baja shrimp tacos were good but I can't really bring myself to be impressed when I've had so much better. Didn't have room for the tres leches cake and now I want to go back for it =\ read more

Ah-ma-zing...seriously- this place is amazing. Our first visit was on a Saturday night and the place was hoppin- luckily with just 2 of us we got to sit down pretty quick so no complaints there. The waitress was great- she was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu- personally I just love when the staff can give recommendations. We started with the queso which was the only non-5 star thing about this meal-it was good but I won't order it again. The salsa is soo good and fresh you won't need anything else for your chips. I had the Chika-Chika Boom Boom due to yelp and the waitress recommendations- it was fabulous. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the tortillas soft yet firm and the sauce a perfect companion to the dish-YUMMO. My friend had the Green Chili Fried Chicken- I know- fried chicken and tex-mex don't seem to go together but ohh my friend they do. The chicken was crispy and coated in Lays potato chips which give it a nice crunch and saltiness (not too salty) which adds to the green chili sauce on top. Also YUMMO. So 2 more things made this meal a winner- the Coconut Sunrise Margarita- I can't explain this- if you like Coconut just try it and last but certainly not least the Tres Leches Cake. If I have not already convinced you to give this place a try then the Tres Leches Cake should do the job. Their Tres Leches was one of the best I have ever had- it has the prefect cake consistency which holds up to the milk sauce that is on top-and ohh it is soo soo soo good. read more

I am actually quite impressed with the decor. It makes you feel as if you are in a tropical resort in Mexico! I like the fact that they make their own tortillas in house in the middle of the restaurant. Food is good but I wouldn't say it is the most authentic Mexican food that I have had. read more

This place is not what I anticipated. They are Mexican restaurant but they don't know how to make mechiladas and on top of that food is not even above average. Nevertheless to say our waiter was actually helpful. Pick another Mexican if you want good food and good drinks. read more

The food is decent but the service is spotty. And, they allow there employees to take up parking spots closest to the front door. Last year, in my opinion, they started using cheaper fajita meat so I had to stop ordering fajitas. Given that I now have to compete with employees for parking, it's doubtful I'll be back. read more

Chuy's - It's there every Sunday. - Mexican Near Me - Plano, Texas

This is one of our favorite Mexican food spots in the area - lots of personality, really great food and very good drinks! When you get there, order a margarita (the house margs are great, no real need for upsell) and then get the creamy jalapeno dip (this is not optional, it is mandatory). Some favorite meals: Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom Comida Deluxe Enchiladas (especially the Southwestern, or chicken+spinach enchiladas with sour cream sauce) Fried Stuffed Avocado (it's only sold one day per week, can't remember which one, but it's a favorite of my wife's). In general, you can't go wrong, so feel free to try anything. Also a big fan of the famous Chuy's t-shirts... read more

The first thing that catches the eye is the full of life, colorful and hip interiors. We requested to be seated outdoors.. and the setting there is very quite and romantic. I ordered the bloody mary...and loved it! They made it with some extra pepper, just the way I like it! Their complimentary dip and chips are also great! The chili rellenos were out of the world!!! Fairly quick service and cheerful staff makes the experience even more special! Not too many vegetarian options... read more

Their salsa. Their salsa. Their salsa. Have I mentioned their salsa? Such a cool atmosphere and staff is very friendly. I usually try to get something different every time I go there but the steak fajitas are amazing. read more

Please restore your Chile Rellenos menu selection. It was ALWAYS my 1st choice!

Good place. We love this place as a family. Love their Chika chika boom boom and martinis! We have been regular to this place for more than 5 years now but I must say, recently, this place is lacking the service attitude. We experienced this during our last couple of visits. No incidence as such but in general you feel that carelessness and lack of warmth. Will watch it for some more time before editing the review! read more

I've been eating at Chuy's locations for nearly 20 years and it is my favorite Tex-Mex in the state. Note that is different from just plain Mexican food. I've tried this new location twice - service has been friendly and fast. My waiter on opening day also made the suggestion of trying the creamy jalepeno dip, which I knew about. Most of the time it's just something that patrons have to know to ask for, so that was nice. This location has a cool patio area as well. There are so many great items on the menu. Some suggestions... Great Queso Panchos Chuy's Special Enchiladas The frozen margaritas, especially the regular with strawberry dot Chuychanga Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom Enchiladas (spicy, but not too much) Southwestern Enchiladas (spicy) Deluxe Chicken Enchiladas (mild) #4 with a cheese relleno + green chile sauce or deluxe tomatillo and deluxe chicken enchilada Also try the sopapillas, they're great! read more

Chuy's is our favorite mexican food place. We've now hit all of them in the Dallas area and non have disappointed. Highlights are fresh salsa and their guacamole is outstanding as well. My current favorite is their taco plate with fajita chicken and the chili lime rice. Hmmm... Hmmm... Good. read more

It's the bomb for tex mex. I love the drinks, atmosphere and fresh ingredient food. Best tres leche on the plant. read more

Came here for lunch after church and they had just opened. We were immediately seated and our waiter brought us salsa and chips. Husband order chicken flautas and I got the lite chicken combo that consisted of a soft chicken taco and a "chalupa" chicken taco. We also had a side of chile con queso. I love their salsa. It's very tangy. The chile con queso had little chunks of chile in the queso which I liked. The consistency of the queso was nice and smooth. The husband's chicken flautas were delicious. The outside was crispy and chicken was moist. The order came with 7 along with warm salsa, guacamole, sour cream, rice and beans. Lite chicken combo: soft taco- it was pretty ordinary. Lettuce, tomato, a little cheese and chicken. The chalupa that came with the dish was more of a tostada. It had everything the soft taco had except with jalapeños on top and the cheese was melted. I liked this a lot more than the taco. This dish also came with guacamole. Overall, the service was on point and food was good. read more

We went to Chuy's this afternoon and we're very disappointed. I dropped my wife off at the front door while I parked the car. When I got in my wife told me that they had ignored her at the front desk and seated three other groups ahead of her. The manager asked me how I was doing and I said not very well, I explained that my wife had been ignored and hadn't been seated and he said don't worry I'll make it right. He did jack xxxx. We got seated and lo and behold my wife's food comes.,. It's cold, she even said here touch this chicken fajita meat. It was cold to the touch, service was slow and had screaming kids all around us and the management just let these hooligans yell and scream. Don't go to this restaurant if you want to have a nice private meal because what you're going to get is hooligans yelling and screaming all around you. Management could care less. Also manager said hey I'll take care of you and make it right he didn't do a darn thing. read more

Best chile poblano around, so crispy and crunchy and always fresh!!! And the Texas Tini is amazing!

We celebrated friend's birthday there. The lunch set is great and the food is really tasty. Ppl there are very happy and friendly.

Came here for lunch on a cold day. Sat on the WARM heated outdoor patio...which was warmer than even inside!! It's simple, if you haven't tried their BOOM BOOM enchiladas...try it! They are awesome Everything else is alright. 4 starts, only for BOOM BOOM !! P.S. the person I came with ordered the green chli chicken something (lunch special) that was pretty bland...so stick with the BOOM BOOM read more

The service was great, the food was great, but nothing that would make me absolutely want to come back again and again (and again) or put this as my #1 tex-mex place. The green chili enchilada was really bland and was really disappointing which is why this place got a solid 4 from me. read more

Came for dinner and made the mistake of catching happy hour. This place was packed but we actually ended up enjoying ourselves. Free queso during happy hour and somehow the waitress was able to keep fresh margaritas on the table despite it being a mad house. Had the chica-chica-boom-boom enchiladas and they were not spicy like the description said. Decent food. Good house margaritas. Good service. Crowded happy hour. read more

I've been a fan of Chuy's since my first visit. The best time to visit is during Happy Hour when they've got their free chips car open. With beef, cheese, chips and such....it's yummylicious!!! This is my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant!!! They've got great food too. I love their enchiladas! The servers are always nice, and their patio is a great size(granted they keep it enclosed a lot...even in nice weather). read more

I'm joining the Elvis fried chicken bandwagon! This dish is a must try and something truly different from all the typical Mexican dishes I've tried. I read so many reviews on this chicken and finally gave in and decided to give it a try. So glad I did- perfectly fried chicken using crushed potato chips with the melted cheese and it....it's just excellent try it! I do agree this place is sort of overrated, but the staff is friendly and there's always a nice energy here. I'll be back for you Elvis! read more

Chuy's - Chicken Burritto - Mexican Near Me - Plano, Texas

I have fondness for Chuy's and this location was no exception! I dined here on a Saturday night which is always dreadful in DFW as far as wait times and whatnot, but we were seated within 10 minutes of arriving, our server was polite, and the food was great! The guacamole is always fresh and I recommend the Baja fried shrimp tacos! read more

My wife and I had been frequenting this Chewy's for two years and loved every minute of it. Any time we had a stressful day at work we would just meet here and relax with some fajitas and a margarita. You can't beat the customer service at this place and the food is to die for. Unfortunately my wife and I moved across town not too long ago and can no longer hop in for a impulsive Chewy's date. I had to just drop a review as a thank you for all of the good memories! read more
