Decided to give this place another try after a disastrous 1st visit. It was worse! We went on a Sunday after 8:30 pm....1. The food was tasteless and has no seasoning ( chicken fajitas). The tortillas were worse. Tasted like you were eating a wad of flour. 2. The atmosphere was horrific. I honestly thought we were in a daycare center. What a disappointment. Got there at 3:30 and was advised there is a 2 hour wait but if we can find ourselves a table in the bar we can go in there. The one thing they don't tell you is if you sit at a table you can get drinks and queso and avocado dip. But no other food even though there are people at the bar eating a full plate of food. And these people are only 4 feet away from your table. Wow. Will never go back there and I will tell everyone I know what a poor place this is. Don't waste your money and time at Chuys. Food was good, not a very extensive menu but the options are happily full a belly. Place does not feel like a Mexican restaurant but more like a 50's diner, lol. Was told 35-45 minute wait, and we waited an hour before we sat down. Then the waitress and her trainer started taking orders of people who sat down AFTER us then saw us. Until service gets better I do not recommend. read more

There was nothing wrong with the food I got which were the boom boom enchiladas, they tasted great. What I don't like and this maybe company wide was there was no option for the green chilie rice or charo beans any more. They have also scaled back the menu, they used to have daily specials and seemed to have 86'd the Elvis green chilie fried chicken. My family and I had such a great experience here. The food was fresh, hot, and so good. I had the chicken fajita burrito, and it's one of the very best burritos I've ever had. The queso was delicious, and the chips were super thin and crispy. The staff were wonderful, so polite and attentive. Be aware that the wait is long, but that's just because the food is so good. The manager came and talked to us, saying they don't have any dry foods or freezers on the premises, and was so nice. Will definitely be back here soon. I went a few days ago to the new chuys in midland, but the service is not what I expected to start they gave me a table soon, but the waiter took a long time to get to the table he gave us sauce and we asked for cheese but he did not bring us chips I had to get up to look for them to give me when I ate The order went to the table right away and I was pkaticaba with other waitresses, I was very hungry, desperate because I didn't see that I was taking my order after a long wait, the food arrived. This place is really good! I tried their salsa and queso super good for a Tex-mex restaurant. For the main course I got the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas and they were amazing!! They even had a kick to them. The only thing that was lacking was that the enchiladas did not have much filling. But overall really good for the price of food. read more

We usually love Chuys and since we were driving through Midland we decided to stop. We had about a 20 min wait to be seated which wasn't bad. We were seated in the fireplace room. The waitress seemed irritated because they were setting up for another large group when we were seated. We were a party of 4. It took 40 minutes from the time we were seated until we received our food. We ran out of chips and drinks. When our food arrived, the enchiladas and the tacos were warm like they had been sitting while waiting for the fajitas. There were hard chunks in the beans. She seemed overwhelmed which is understandable, but not being friendly is not. read more

First timers for Chuy's. Gave it a month or so to work out the kinks of opening a new restaurant in a new town. Saturday night at 6:00 we went in and was told one hour and fifteen minutes minimum wait but we could sit in the bar. We were told the tables in the bar were only for waiting so only drinks and chips and dip appetizers. Great, no hurry so we grab a table get some tasty mojitos and chips and queso. After a couple of rounds and filling up on chips we closed the bar tab since we were at 1:30 on time. Luckily the waitress checked with the hostess and we discovered the didn't get my cell number correct. Again no biggie, mistakes happen. Moved to a table in the dining room and got our order in pretty quick. After about 40 minutes we were getting a little restless when the food showed up. The chika chika boom boom was pretty good, slightly spicier than I expected but the taste grew on me. The wifey was full from the appetizers so she had the tres leches cake/pie and it was delicious. The manager came by and checked on us and apologized for the mixed up phone number and the delay in getting our meal. He was honest about the newness of his team, which I really appreciated having been in food service in the past. I think in time they will do just fine and have some pretty good fare. It's a different style of restaurant in that they don't go for the home made style of Abuelos, but are a step above Rosas. I'll give them some time to mature and will go back. The food taste like it was put in a microwave oven and cooked. It's always so crowded it's easier to drive to Odessa and eat at the Texas Roadhouse. I can always get a seat at the bar and eat, unlike in Midland. read more

They were very accurate with wait times. What they tell you is literally the amount of time we waited. The chips we were served were like crunched up and tiny but we did come when they first opened and were very busy. Food was good. The only complaint I have is we were served by a younger girl, and my husband and I always share fajitas for one because neither of us eat particularly much. When we ordered, she looked us up and down and said "are you sure.... I think y'all need them for two" (she said this not very nicely and almost condescending) then when we said we were sure, she asked AGAIN. I get that they could make more money if we did and maybe that was her motivation however she was very condescending and rude about it and made us kind of upset. read more

I have always been a fan of Chuy's so when I heard we were getting one in Midland, I was so excited! I waited until my birthday to go to make it special. I was seated in a middle 2-seater booth and I am not petite, but I am not that large, but the booth was in my stomach and my breasts were on the table.This booth would be unacceptable for anything except 2 children. I could not scoot my plate to the edge of the table to get my food. When our food arrived, we had to ask for silverware. The food was mediocre, not the delicious Chuy's food I am used to. The fish tacos that I was planning on are no longer on the menu. My husband who ordered unsweetened tea, was offered sweet tea each time he was offered a refill. Our waiter was pleasant and served us well, but that was the high point of our dining. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. After waiting years for Chuy's to come to town, I will probably not be back. Quite disappointing. read more
