We stopped in pretty early around 5. Place was basically empty. They take out us to a covered patio and try to seat us directly in the path to the patio. Anyone walking in or out would bump the table ( I can't believe fire code would allow a table there) So we were moved over. Drinks I ordered a margarita not expecting anything exciting but it was literally just mixer. I had my wife taste it without saying anything and she said that is just mixer. I just set the 'drink' with two swallows out of way, he asked if I need another, I politely declined. He brought my wife a Blue Moon with a huge orange slice and no glass. Acted miffed that she requested a glass. My wife loves their steak fajitas they came out over cooked, meat had not been marinaded and had been cut with the grain. Basically impossible to eat as a taco. As we were sitting there the host tried to stick a lady in a wheelchair at the table in the patio walkway? I'm not a negative person and rarely complain. We had a wonderful lunch, and we are super sad there is not a Chuy's near us. We were staying at a nearby hotel, and we had just enough time before the wedding to grab lunch. I am visiting from out of town and decided to order for curbside pickup since I'd had a long day of travel. I placed my order at 7:58pm and was told my order would be ready at 9pm. I arrived at the designated curbside pickup space at 8:49pm and texted my arrival as instructed. Fast forward to 9:30pm and still no food/update so I called the restaurant. An associate came out and told me it would be another 15-20 minutes. When I expressed my frustration, she went on to tell me that people in the restaurant were waiting 30+ minutes for their food to which I replied that it had been nearly TWO HOURS since my order was placed. About 10-15 minutes later someone came out and handed me my food, which I took back to my hotel. The photos here show what I was given. The bowl was cold, missing ingredients and just overall disappointing, the guacamole was turning brown and half the container was filled with shredded lettuce (why?!) and the margaritas were barely halfway filled. This meal was $45!!! This is a complete RIPOFF! I would say I'm never coming back, but I don't live here to have to worry about that. I just hope my review saves someone else from blowing almost $50 on a "meal" from this place like I did. The chips and salsa are great! But the Chicken fajitas were so dry and burnt! It was so bad that part of my chicken was part charcoal!!! The beef fajitas were also dry and burnt. I was surprised they didn't throw away the food, which was truly not edible!! Instead they gave it to us! This was a to go order. But on top of being served burnt fajitas, they forgot to give us tortillas to eat our fajitas with!! We ordered one beef / chicken fajita combo and an order of chicken fajitas. Neither order had tortillas. Also, we only got one serving of the salsa, etc; which we should have gotten two, one for each order. I'm a Texas native, so Chuy's is one of my favorite places, so it was so disappointing to have to go thru this horrible experience with the Chuy's here in Dayton. Sadly, the meat was simply tootough to even chew, we ended up having to fill up on the chips and share a tiny itty bitty container of salsa, the size which could maybe only hold a scoop of butter. The table was dirty but the waiter was mostly prompt. I think the manager was running around bussing tables and serving, so they were probably short handed. But one of the bus boys was doing a lousy job cleaning. We let it go... I think my burrito was wrong... it wasn't the fajita chicken. Also my wife's taco was chewy and flavorless. Our family waited 30 mins longer than told by hostess. The hostess didn't give us a menu. The waitress brought some back for us. As we were walking to the table we noticed a lot of dirty tables. Was that the reason we couldn't be seated? Once we were seated it was another hour before we got the food. It was cold when it arrive. The kids would not eat it. The adults were very disappointed. The waitress kept us supplied with chips for an hour. We were not paying for a cold meal. The waitress was upset but it wasn't her fault. We have eaten at Chuys for many years and have always enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately we had a less than good experience. First, we ordered Margaritas. The flavor seemed off. I suspect our drinks lacked an ingredient, perhaps the triple sec? We ordered chili relleno and a crispy side taco. I was given a soft taco which they had to remake to a crispy taco. There seems to be poor communication between the front and back side of the house. The chili rellenos,were,deep fat fried in batter and oil and were not as good as chili rellenos we've had in other restaurants. The manager talked to us about it but was defensive. The worst was the men's room. The urinals were full of dark unflushed urine suggesting insufficient cleaning. This restaurant MUST be more attentive to detail on these issues or they could go out of business. read more

I think that this restaurant is okay, but the dishes are no different than those of many other Mexican restaurants. The service is alright. The ambiance is pretty sweet. Nothing really stands out about the food to make Chuj's a unique restaurant. The "Big As Yo Face" burrito was not bad, but I doubt it was as big as my face from my hairline to my chin. I used to quip that Chipotle burritos were the size of my head, and that was true when Chipotle first came to the Dayton area. That is hardly the case in many restaurants with the economy we have under the current administration. But I digress. Chuy's is pretty good! It's not my go-to for Mexican. However, if I'm in the area, up the street at Dorothy Lane, and craving Mexican I'll stop by. I've been to this location a few times. The service is always good and the food is always decent. As most Mexican restaurants, Chuy's starts you with chips and dip. They give you salsa and their house jalapeño creama dip. Both are good, but the jalapeño dip is really good. It's got a little kick to it and it's creamy. I also like it because it's different. You can't get that sauce at most other restaurants. You can get salsa anywhere and most taste pretty standard. I ordered the Quesadillas and my husband ordered the Enchiladas. Both dishes are good. We honestly didn't have any complaints. It's typical Mexican food. It was seasoned and good. Was it the best we've ever had? No, but it's always good enough. They are also good for kids as well. We ordered our oldest a kid's cheeseburger and fries. Overall, Chuy's is a good option if you aren't able to go to wherever your go-to is. read more

Well I got a pineapple margarita that have a little bit of Jalapeno in it it's a seasonal Margarita that is really good. Just a tiny bit of spice didn't make it spicy with a capital s just enough to kind of take away some of the sweetness of the pineapple margarita is really nice. I have to give 5 stars based on the quality of food and our amazing server. The ambiance? I'd give a negative number if I could. We were seated behind a Becky who was never taught about an inside voice. We had trouble having a conversation at our own table over the incomprehensibly loud conversation going on. Although maybe conversation is a misnomer. Poor Hannah hardly ever got a word in. Every sentence had a like and an I. We really didn't need to hear about the crab legs you had in Maine with Josh and his family. Nor did we need to know about the disgustingly cute name he has for you in his phone. I'm assuming Josh is deaf. That can be the only explanation for his constantly telling you he loves you. We also did not need to hear about how Tristan has a crush on you. You said you were in med school, so maybe you are studying to be an ENT. That can explain how you keep accruing all the deaf men. I am curious as to which of these two men you were going to let impregnate you. Because you let everyone in the restaurant place know you would let them. At least since your coworker said having an epidural made giving birth a breeze. All of these one-sided conversations were very distracting to the crowded restaurant. A table that was sat shortly before we left shared our sentiment when they declared, "Wow! That's loud." Maybe these loud proclamations wouldn't have been as bad if there weren't children seated throughout the area. I'm sure their parents didn't really enjoy hearing about your swinger lifestyle. My usual go to meal is combo one, but I have to say...if you've never had the Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken, my friend you are missing out! Also, ask for the white sauce to dip your chips in, well really to dip everything in...it's a creamy jalapeno lime sauce that's amazing on everything. All the food I've had here is pretty good. My husband and I went back for happy hour. We were able to get a little of the nacho bar, although it kept running out and had a constant line. Our waiter was very attentive. He apologized about being neglectful due to having servers call off that night, but truthfully we hardly noticed. We got a combo and shared it.
