Today my husband, my mother and myself went to the new Chuy's restaurant. This restaurant only opened yesterday. I was a bit hesitant about waiting 35 to 45 minutes to get a table. But , boy am I glad we did. Omg, the food was fabulous. We all had the Chili Relleno and enchilada plate. This was the first time I have tried the relleno's. And I think I have found a new favorite dish. Besides great food, the wait staff was awsome. Prices are surprisingly affordable. The serving size is large, The refried beans are delicious. I think the food is just the same as every other Chili's or On the Border. Basic bland Mexican food. New Mexico has so much great food and flavors and they just dumbed it down and mass produce it. Save your money and go to any local restaurant instead and avoid the chains. read more

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this would not be the place. It's a bit pricey. The meals start from $8.99 and above. The only thing I recommend is their salsa. Our waitress's service wasn't the best. She didn't give us napkins and plates when we got our appetizer, plus get this, when I asked for more chips she brought the scoop and just dumped it in the basket while the rest spilled on the table and she just walked away. Even the table next to us looked at me and gave an awkward smile. I found out there's a self serve chips and condiments area just when we left the restaurant. I mean it's a new place, it would be nice if they give their customers a quick briefing on how they do things. That was my rant. We're never going back. read more

Food was delicious as is any Chuy's, the jalapeño dip is addicting, the boom boom sauce is magical. That all goes without saying. I'm writing this review specifically to thank Storm for being an outstanding and kind person and waiter. I went with a friend and our kiddos and as any parent should be familiar with it turned in to "one of those days". Milk was spilled, things were thrown....you get the idea...Storm was so patient and even though it wasn't an ideal situation (the messes....oh the messes...) he went above and beyond to take care of us and not make us feel horrible (we did anyway). Attention local Corpus Christians this is NOT the sort of taqueria Tex-Mex cuisine your pallet is used to. This has a slightly more south west flavor with beans that are more peppery and have a taste similar to what you might call Borracho beans which I did not find unpleasant. I will say the flavors over all felt more Anglo influenced (hence the founded in Austin, TX), but maybe you're from somewhere North of Texas so this is more your thing. I was disappointed that my rice clearly had been sitting in a warmer too long which left it with a stale crunchy texture that I ordered with Tacos (hard to mess those up!) The atmosphere is trendy, friendly and conducive to a few drinks after work or meeting for a birthday. Personally, I would probably not eat here again there's many more interesting choices on restaurant row. read more

I have been enjoying Chuy's for almost five years now from the original in Austin to Corpus Christi's newer location. It is a good place for families or a date night. The food is comforting and the restaurant has a quirky and fun vibe. It is more dynamic than other Tex-Mex restaurants because you can get regular Tex-Mex or other versions of American Mexican, like those dishes with New Mexican influence. They have a variety of entrees and a great array of different sauces you can try on enchiladas or burritos. I have not had a dish on their menu that I did not enjoy. Just watch out for spice! This location seems to make their sauces a little spicier than I've had at other spots. And don't forget to ask for creamy jalapeño sauce with your chips and salsa! read more

I finally made it to Chuys! Man was I disappointed. I will say kudos on their margaritas-I had a strawberry frozen margarita and it was delicious. They were way better than OTB. I'm a regular Chuys visitor when I go through Austin/DFW, so I knew what I was expecting. The queso compuesto was flavorful and the guacamole mixed in was a nice taste. The food overall was so disappointing-everything was so salty. We literally scraped salt of the chips, and left 1/2 the meal on the plate. The meat wasn't really the problem-all the sauces tasted like they'd had extra tablespoons of salt mixed in. Even my favorite, the jalapeño ranch sauce was overly salted. It is a not organized place. came to here late evening, saw from outside there were many empty tables which were not in a certain dining area, but there were some customers still waiting including us, I thought might be there was a party? Anyway, after 10 minutes , we were seated to one of those empty tables, I asked some questions about the food, the young lady is obviously not well trained, I have no mood to do any research, just ordered tortilla thing, it is not good not bad, nothing special. read more

I ordered from the to go parking spot. Ordering was simple the food came out quickly. When we got back to our hotel I discovered that they didn't include napkins or flatware. I called to let them know and asked if they usually included them with the orders. She said yes and apologized. I was expecting more then just "sorry". Service was very good but the rest was study in contradictions. Really interesting décor but noisy because there's nothing soft to absorb the sound. Great margarita (The Perfect Margarita) but small glass, lots of ice and a high price. On to the food. Some chips in the ubiquitous offering were good but some could have been used to patch a shoe. The main entrées were mostly a miss - the cheese enchiladas were unremarkable and covered with a red sauce that had way too much red chili powder. The chicken enchilada/chalupa combo had very good shredded chicken but the dish overall lacked character. The charro beans - well, I've had much better at Los Comales in Rockport and at Peps in Aransas Pass. I think we'll be going to those places for our Tex-Mex fix. read more

Chuys is one our favorite restaurants. In the Austin locations we can count on good service with happy people. Absolutely not the case with the Corpus location. So disappointing. Our server Juju seems to be a very unhappy person and not even polite. Not at all friendly. Bar tender acted like a spoiled child and very disrespectful. There should be standards for each restaurant to meet. The staff here clearly hasn't been trained or simply doesn't care. One of the managers came over with some condescending remarks. Corporate needs to pay a visit. Food was good and I will continue to be a Chuys fan but not at this location. read more

Well started out good with the trainie checking on us and getting our water but after the trainer waitress took over things went south quick. She took our order the we set on patio for 20 minutes no one to check on us and NO FOOD waitress was Alexis wished we had the trainie for our full waitress much better. read more

First they wouldn't sit my mom and I in a booth because they didn't have enough servers. Okay fine. Then our waitress approached our table and asked us to wait. She went to her people at the booth, sat down with them and everything. She then left the booth, walked passed our table into the kitchen, came back and asked us for our drink orders, didn't introduce herself nor smile, just asked what we wanted to drink. Came out with our drinks, and chips, without saying a word and left again. THEN, the hostess who sat us down and said they couldn't sit us at a booth sat a couple at the booth. When they first opened my husband and I went to eat and we ordered the beef and chicken fajitas for two. When they brought them to us they were not sizzling like everyone else's who had ordered the same thing. The food was warm and quickly got cold. We were disappointed and told the waiter and he said we can take them back and warm them. I told him why ours didn't come to us sizzling like everyone else's and he I don't know. Well we left from there telling each other never again. Yesterday we decided to give Chuy's another chance but regretted it the fajitas were so dry and they still didn't come out sizzling. Having really enjoyed 2 of Chuy's restaurants in Austin and Webster, I was looking forward to having one in my hometown. My family and I were disappointed, though, as we had poor service and waited a long time for our food. When it did finally come out, they forgot one person's order. Our server didn't refill our drinks. The manager came out, apologized, and told us to "be sure you save room for dessert. It's on me!" When they brought it out, it was one piece of tres leches cake for all six of us to share. Boy, was I glad I saved room for that one bite. We will not be going back. read more
