I'll start by saying that I've never wanted to write a review until my family and I ate here last night. Sure, we've eaten at some good restaurants but often it seems like something was lacking. Everything was perfect from start to finish at Chuy's! First, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and our server, Aaron, showed us to our seats. He told us about happy hour specials,let us sample a couple of their dips and recommended a few dishes. He is an EXCELLENT server! You're going to want to sit in his section if you're a first timer like we were. The food was great and the portions were huge! Had the opportunity to visit Chuy's twice while in town for the National Corvette Museum 25th Anniversary. First time was really good, much the same as I remembered from back in the days when I lived in Texas. The second visit was not as good. Clearly they were feeling the stress of a busy Friday night. Ordered a Queso that we never received, but at least didn't get charged. When we inquired about the happy hour pricing on drinks, the server didn't seem aware the happy hour specials lasted until 7pm (it was only 6:30p). The Chuychanga was too thick, oily and bland. My wife's chicken on her fajitas was overcooked and dry. I really was hoping for two great visits, while that didn't work out, we at least had one good one. All in all, would go back, just not confident it will always be as good as I know Chuy's had been in the past. read more

Dinner May 31 If you have never ate a Chuy's you are missing some great quality Tex-Mex food! This makes the 7th location I have ate at and the consistency is incredible. This is my favorite chain Tex-Mex place! If you go, may I suggest... 1) Steak Fajitas for one are enough to split! I love chuys. They have the freshest, chunky salsa of any Mexican restaurant. The jalapeno ranch dip is amazing as well. I always get the chicka chicka boom boom chicken enchiladas. The boom boom sauce is just the right spicy. Typical Mexican restaurants have soupy tasteless refried beans and chuys refried beans are chunky, flavorful and fresh. If I'm wanting Mexican food I go for chuys first. I get it, it's a chain restaurant, but one of the best chains in my opinion. I've dined here numerous times and usually I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants but I definitely make an exception for Chuy's. Their salads are always fresh. They have a wonderful broth based tortilla soup with actual chunks of shredded chicken. The fajitas are also great as the chicken and steak are grilled and delicious. I'm also a big fan of their chips and salsa. The restaurant is child friendly, casual with friendly and fast service. For dessert you can't go wrong with the flan or tres leches. Both are very good. I actually ate here the last week of December 2016 during the holidays. It was packed on a Monday night! I had a big special item burrito with chicken and a cilantro cream sauce that was like crack. I wanted to dip everything in it. Chips, fingers, car keys... I was dining alone, and the service level at the bar was good... but the bar is BUSY here, so I think a table might be better for service if that is important to you. read more

Pretty average. Higher priced Mexican cuisine than what is the norm. Tacos both flour & corn were good! I had a strawberry mojito that looked pretty, but had too much sour mix in it. I love the overall feel of this place! Super eclectic which I've always loved and the colors speak to my southwest background. We stopped in on the way through town during dinner time and the place was PACKED, so we opted to take a table in the bar which was first-come first-serve. The bar is a large area with a lot of seating so it didn't feel like your typical "bar" area. Our server was a bit scatter brained. Not sure he was prepped for that kind of a crowd, although the other servers seemed a bit scattered as well, so not sure of their multi-tasking skills. I had to flag him down a couple of times as he flew by. Our food was great and there was a TON of it. I ordered their "famous" chile relleno and honestly I was a bit disappointed. I know I said the food was great...but it was more so how they set up their sauce choices. GREAT IDEA. Several sauces to choose from so you can personalize your meal. However, being from the southwest, I'm used to a light egg batter on my relleno but the batter here is more like a thick crunchy coating which really took away from the flavor of the chile and stuffing (which I might add, you can personalize as well). Great concept but disappointing follow through. Too much batter to sift through. Having said that, the other food was amazeballs! I will be back FOR SURE. I didn't realize Chuy's was a chain until now, which I'm glad for because we probably wouldn't have stopped. Stopped in for lunch. Tanner our server was fantastic. He made great suggestions regarding sauces to pair with our meals. The ranchero jalapeno dip was as addictive as Tanner said it would be. I have eaten at Chuys at multiple locations in different states and I can safely say this is the best Chuys location I have visited service wise and food wise. Food comes out quick, servers are nice, and the food tastes good. My only complaint is the dining room area seems crowded, so if your at a table in the middle it can feel smushed right up the the table next to you. Ask for the jalapeño ranch dip. 5 of us went to eat dinner here because we were all staying in Bowling Green for work. We all thought it was great. I had the fish tacos, but could barely eat any because I'd over indulged in the yummy creamy jalapeno sauce and chips. I didn't let it go to waste though...I ate it for leftovers the next day. For being the ONLY restaurant off of exit 22 that takes reservations for large parties for dinner on a Saturday night Chuy's gets 5 stars. They were busy, from what locals said, they are always busy. Stopped for dinner after a long day of driving while on a road trip. Best place ever! I wish I had one near me in NY Place was busy but the wait was only 10 minutes. If you love Cilantro on literally everything you eat then this may be the place for you. Unfortunately that spice tastes like soap to me so my options were very limited. I couldn't even eat the salsa. Our waitress spoke to management who brought me out a bowl of their queso dip to try. He noted it still had Cilantro but a very minute amount. That dip ended up being my favorite food item of the night. The place was fun, vibrant, and colorful. The food was as well, but it was lacking a bit in the flavor department. 5/10 I would eat there again just to get that queso dip!!! read more

Having moved from Texas I was not happy with most Mexican food in Bowling Green. I was ecstatic when Chuy's opened here. Having been a customer of the original 2 Chuy's in Austin and in Dallas I am a big fan! It's more New Mexican than Tex Mex but the quality of the food, the choices, and the service are always excellent! My favorite is the shredded Chicken on Blue Corn tortillas and this last week I tried Shrimp stuffed Chili Relleno and it was heavenly! read more

I love Chuy's... Chuy's is my favorite Mexican restaurant I've eaten at. I've not always been a big fan of Mexican food because it didn't agree with me, not that I didn't like the taste, but I can go to Chuy's anytime and never have it disagree with me, if you haven't tried it you need to get there, it is an exception in quality and quantity, it really is the best of Mexican restaurants in my opinion. Make sure you save room for their cheesecake, it's a really good dessert. If you haven't gone there I think you'll really be surprised at the quality of their food, I highly recommend it,and I give it a five star rating overall. read more
