    Chips, salsa, and queso

Updating my review to say this is STILL hands down my favorite spot for Mexican food in BG! After living in Los Angeles I still crave the comfort of the chef special and the Tex Mex treat that is queso dip!! They recently renovated the space and it is gorgeous. Really has an intimate feel but still affordable. I always get my go-to but recently I tried their Mexican street corn which was a delicious veggie addition to my meal! The servers were all extremely kind to me! Thank you for always being there El Maz!

Newly remodeled, the atmosphere is fantastic. Nice music system and even an indoor waterfall. Really pretty color scheme. Easy on the eyes. I had a ribeye for lunch and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked to medium and so was the baked potato. Hot as it should Side salad nice and crispy with the right amount of dressing. Service was quick as usual. Courtesy is never an issue here.

A side of salsa compared to queso I was charged $10 for

I have consistently ordered queso with grilled jalapeños from El Maz's drive through window but my most recent visit with them has left me appalled. Because I order this often I know the price is always $6 and some change for a large. (My credit card history shows this charge several times) Yet when I went to the window they charged me $10 citing that it was for a small queso and a side of jalapeños. I wasn't that concerned with the price change, but when I saw the size of queso I paid for I told them I paid for a large and they accidentally gave me a small. Since the waitress at the window was new she got the manager and he was the most condescending, rude, and worst customer representative of an establishment I've ever encountered. I explained that the price was typically much less for a larger size and he told me they charged me $4 for queso and $6 for a side of jalapeños. I explained that the jalapeños are typically mixed in the queso and He said he did not typically work at the location on Nashville road and tried calling another manager for guidance (which let me know he really didn't know the true cost or procedure of how to ring up the order). From there he turned so nasty and rude. Speaking in Spanish about us to another person (but I SPEAK Spanish). Then he tried to take my queso and pretend to give me the larger size, but told me I'd have to pay more to get the larger size. Honestly all of this is not about $10 for some queso, it's about a restaurant myself and my family frequent often treating me so poorly. You have lost a faithful customer.

A wee bag of tortilla chips

Ordered 2 combo fajitas, queso, and tomatillo sauce for delivery. Received chicken and one little tiny bags of tortilla chips. lol I know, first world problems

Loved the ambience when we walked into this place. This was our second time there since November, when my brother-in-law was visiting and he wanted Mexican food. I ordered a large Watermelon Margarita frozen. It was very delicious and full of tequila, my daughter got a virgin. Piña colada and my husband ordered a Modelo beer. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, seated, and our drink order was taken. The waitress came right back with chips and salsa. That were very good. I love the salsa there and our drinks. My husband had the Burroto Mexicano I had a chicken chimichanga, and my daughter had seasoned steak plate. I could not believe the size of the burrito. My husband got it took up the whole plate and he said it was delicious. I tried it and the seasoning in the meat was so delicious.!!!! I always order a chimichanga and it was delicious. I couldn't even finish it and my daughter said her food was super deliciously seasoned also. For all this food and the drinks with tip we spent about $60!!!! So the food, the service, and the ambience of the restaurant was outstanding. This is our go to Mexican restaurant.

Food was pretty good. Large selection. Service was decent but unorganized. We didn't have one server seemed odd.

Standard menu for a Mexican establishment with the usual suspects of Burritos, Tacos, Nachos and of course Birria! They also serve the lunch menu all week long so there's a breakfast burrito that my daughter got that looked great. They weren't very busy and didn't have a lot of staff working when we arrived on a Sunday around 12. The server was very quick to get to our table and give us drinks, tortilla chips and salsa while we looked at the menus. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with artwork and flags and you wouldn't think it was so nice from the outside but it is. Our food came out very fast and looked amazing. I ordered the Birria Quesadilla and it was amazing. Tender meat and very cheesy! The consommé is an extra charge so we got a cup to share. My wife had a Chicken dish with queso and rice that was also delicious. My son ordered a huge burrito that looked great but he did mention it not being the hottest. Overall good experience and we will visit again when we're in the area. They do charge gratuity automatically for parties of 6 or more so take that info as you'd like.

Good location, ample parking and surprisingly spacious dining room with plenty of tables. I'm surprised this place wasn't busier. I ordered the taco trio and chose the Baja taco with dealers choice on fish or shrimp, Al pastor taco and the carne asada taco with a cucumber lemonade to drink since they have Aguas frescas on tap. They served my drink right away and it was refreshing made with lemon instead of a traditional pepino that is made with limes. More like a lemonade with some cucumbers. The tacos came out fairly quick and looked amazing. They added a side of corn almost like elotes and some sauces and a couple slices of a radish one lime. The tacos were delicious I liked the freshness of the tortillas and heated with a bit of oil to make them soft but not fall apart soft on my carne asada taco and al pastor. They both had great flavor and the sauce were decent. The green one was like a tomatillo but not spicy and the red one was a little bit spicy. The Baja fish taco was really good made with a flour tortilla still crisp and held together well and the sauce was plentiful that I didn't even need to add anything. The fish was well seasoned and the slaw gave it a perfect texture. I don't eat corn that often but still tasted it and was great, seasoned with some spice and warm and cozy feels. I also picked a chocoflan and it was the perfect treat to end the meal. Beautifully moist dessert the only thing I prefer it a bit more Carmel sauce. The staff cleared up our table and were so nice. We came when they had trivia night and when in Rome you play trivia and it was actually fun but we didn't stay for the whole game. They also have a table that has cutlery, to go boxes, napkins and cups and ice water dispenser and some sauces. A place if I'm ever in the area again I will be stopping at again.
