The food was amazing. From many and varied fajitas to the most tasty Mexican shrimp meal I've ever had (Tulum Special). We took some boxes to go so we could enjoy the fried ice cream- worthwhile decision. The food came out fast and our server was delightful. Don't miss this place! read more

Apparently our waitress no speak English and for the life of me I could not think of the Spanish word for sweetener for unsweetened tea. We ordered and it came fast and cold. Chicken chili was not deep fried and on a cold tortilla. 1st time new location and something changed. Used to be the only place I liked chicken chimichanga. Not this time. My mother's ordered 2 enchiladas, got one and it was cold. Neither of us liked the taste either. New location is not the same food quality. Could not eat cold beans and rice either. read more

Fast, Friendly and Fantastic Food! Every time at several locations, it's the same!! We have never had bad food or bad service!!

The restaurant is brand new because they relocated from Cherry Street to Max Wagner Drive in Glasgow. I neglected to get pictures of it because it was raining. Poor excuse but it was a little dark. The inside was beautiful. Pictures next time. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Service was quick but the best part was the food quality. Fresh. Hot. Cooked just right. Steak cooked to a perfect medium. Tender as well. Always one of my favorite places to eat in Glasgow. read more

They have many units these days, and they are consistent in everything. They serve good food and actually great service with a unique vibe.

Great service and food was delicious Outdoor space 4**** and bar area nice. Everything looks brand new and clean

The food was terrible. Luke warm at best. The tacos only had lettuce and flavorless meat, (I think it was meat.) The enchiladas did not look like the menu pictures and they were served cold. Other menu items ordered did not resemble menu photos. They have cut back on cheese and tomatoes. A real disappointment. Stick with the chips and salsa, ordered a beer and go back home for the main meal. The restaurant is very clean and that is important to me. The service is good. read more

Nothing much was open on a Sunday night, so we decided to go to El Mazatlan, based on the reviews and the fact that it was near our hotel. The place was cute, but really, we didn't understand the hype. It was fine, but nothing special. The staff was very friendly, though, and that was nice. read more

Uh- YUM! I have eaten at dozens of Mexican restaurants in my life. This was looked like most of the others....until I took the first bite. Delicious salsa! Different flavor, I don't know how to describe it, but I ate until I couldn't eat any more! Highly recommend! I door dashed this- so I can't comment on anything else. I would def choose this place again! read more

This was some of the best Mexican food we've had! Service was excellent, portions were decent and prices were fair.

This place was such a great surprise! We were staying at a local Air BNB which was nice experience outside of the big city Chicago and Orlando, and decided to check this place out. They are very friendly and helped with menu items. I ordered a vegetarian meal, and everything was on point; The enchiladas were even where every bite was as tasty as the first, the rice was soft and fluffy and soaks up all the juice from the beans and enchilada. The also had a drink deal for 2 margaritas (of course we order them lol) - and they were soo good. We couldn't stop talking about this restaurant since we got back home. This place is a must to try. read more

It's quite good the service is always nice and the chefs special has always been my favorite.

Hot, fresh and tasty TexMex. Very fast and friendly service. Will cater to you as well as you can hope for.

We stopped by lunch after Crystal Onyx cave tour. We were amazed by the food and the friendly service. Ample parking and very spacious restaurant. Their lunch special pricing was ver good. Had their steak fajitas, taco salad and a horchata. Quality was very fresh and delicious. The manager and workers checked up on us frequently. Definitely worth visiting after the cave tour! read more

This place provides great service and great food! The chille relleno is perfect-not too eggy. The taco ground beef has the best flavor. The decried beans are super tasty. The rice - kind of blah. There is a front (upstairs) and a rear (downstairs) entrance as well as outdoor seating in the rear. Staff are very attentive. read more

My food had a piece of plastic in it.. accidents happen but they charged me full price for their mistake. Our service was slow we kept having to ask other servers for things like a fork and 1 refill of water. My spouses food was cold. We have eaten here numerous times but it will be a long time before we ever go back. read more

Food was good. Would definitely go back next time I town. Service was good. It was a slow day for restaurant but service and food was great. Parking lot was good. read more

More than a typical Mexican restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised to find some delicious and more unique dishes. We had the pina fajitas, nachos velasco, enchiladas vegetarianas, and kids chimichanga. Everything was delicious, came out quickly, and our server was friendly, especially to our boys who had a great time (they rate it "a thousand stars!"). read more

My granddaughter and I had dinner here while on a quick trip to KY. The food was really good and loved their salsa. Our waitress was very pleasant and did a great job taking care of us. We enjoyed dining there and would highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Closest thing to authentic in the city of Glasgow. I have spent much time in Mexico so I speak with authority. Service is great there can be a language barrier as some working there do not speak English well. But then it's much better than my Spanish. read more

Wow drove by and lot was full so my wife suggested we stop. We are from out of town (Michigan) and had a great experience. The food was fantastic!!! Started with chips (free) and 3 different salsa's. Very nice heat. I had a burrito with shrimp, chorizo, steak, and chicken with a great spicy sauce. Wife had stuffed relleno with a great sauce. Even rice and beans were top shelf. Manager made us feel like we were friends. Great time. read more

Road Trip. Dinner. Great queso fundido con chorizo. The Mazatlan Especial was awesome! Huge portions. Hubby does not like shrimp so we asked for them on the side and I got them in a skewer. Everything was delicious. We stayed at a B&B and the owners had recommended a different place (Garcia's) but they close at 9pm and we were there just before 9 so they said it was closed. A very kind lady heard this and recommended El Mazatlan. Oh my, that was a great idea. The decor is very Mexican, the music as well -I decided here that in the future I will also rate Mexican places depending on how many songs I sing while eating : P Our server, Aide I think, was very nice and friendly. So was the cashier, a young man. I do not remember if we were pleased with the chips, but everything was awesome! read more

The best Mexican around! The staff is so friendly! It's like walking into family. They are wonderful and the food is ALWAYS so good!!

Food was very bland. I tried the special and my wife got the fajitas. We had to add salt and pepper and hot sauce to give it some sort of flavor. Decent service. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor portion of the restaurant which was a big negative. Definitely hyped up for an average or slightly below average meal. I usually can finish my meals or take home leftovers but I didn't want to eat this food anymore and left it at the table unfortunately. read more

I had never been here before even though you always hear it being talked about on the radio. I wish I would have come sooner. This place is great. The food is so good. I ordered a California burrito and the thing was huge. I could only manage to eat half of it. The wait staff was very attentive as well. We did wait for a while at first, but that was only because we were waiting for another group of people to show up. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The only negative thing I would have to say is it's a little difficult to find this restaurant if you've never been around that area before so definitely look up directions first if you're unfamiliar with the area. read more

El Mazatlan - Mexican Near Me - Glasgow, Kentucky

*** Atmosphere & Vibe Laid back, casual. Very much your typical Mexican restaurant but very BIG! We sat downstairs on the first floor at the bar. There was also a huge patio out back downstairs that looked really nice! *** Drinks Their house margaritas were pretty good (for house margaritas). Good enough for me to enjoy two! People from out of town TAKE NOTE they do NOT SERVE ALCOHOL before noon on Sundays! . It was 11:35 so we made it until noon...but that was a close call LOL. *** Food Salsa lacked flavor and a little runny. They were a little stingy with it and we had to ask for more. Bean dip was classic bean dip with queso on top Our entrees were HUGE and sizzling hot! Delicious! We were very impressed with the food. They will special make anything with crab for you so we got the Crab Chimichanga and the Seafood Molcajete. Rice and beans were above average. Salads on plates were fresh. *** Location / Parking From out of town so we were following a GPS. We almost missed it because it's tucked behind other restaurants off the main road. Large parking lot. *** Noise Level (1-10, 1 a Library and 10 a Nightclub) 2, pretty quiet, easy to talk. *** Service Host staff was friendly, greeted us right away and sat us immedietly. Bar service was great at first but as they got a little busy we started to get overlooked. I had to get up and find someone twice. *** Signature Characteristic Nothing stood out to me. *** Favorite Thing Solid, delicious, filling Mexican food! We left with happy bellies and happy wallets as everything was VERY affordable. *** Would I come back again? If we lived there, yes. I would probably try to catch a nice day and happy hour on the patio. read more

Absolutely love enjoying the food and drinks out on the deck when the weather is nice! The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Inside there is upstairs and downstairs dining so lots of room. Bar is located downstairs with TVs. Waiters and managers are very friendly and do their best to serve you what you want. They have several healthy menus items as well as the traditional Mexican menu items. Love the Freddy's tacos, Bartley Bowl, Alan Special, all the fajitas, ceviche... you really can't go wrong. They also have steak and other items for those who don't love the Mexican cuisine. Oh and the margaritas are good and priced right! read more

I wish 4.5 stars was an option, as this is the perfect time to use it. I had the Chile Relleno and it was as expected. The thing that separates this restaurant from others is the service. I was immediately seated and greeted by the waiter. He catered to my every need and we also conversed afterwards. I'm here on a work trip but if I ever came back to Glasgow, KY, I would gladly comeback. read more

One waiter Service is butty she lazy took forever to bring drinks and ticket but food is mid

Food was delicious. Fantastic customer service. Will be visiting again. Parking lot could be a little bigger, was packed with customers.

Great food and service. The patio .... I mean it's worth it alone to just go enjoy the patio on a beautiful day!

WOW! You may ask why a review starting with that only gets 4 stars. It is because, in my mind, five stars is for places that cost an entire paycheck. What doesn't work? The chips were weak and for that I am thankful. Had they been better I would have eaten more and not finished my dinner. My beer was cold. And good. However, I wish I had ordered the margarita like my wife did. It was fantastic! Much better than I expected from a little place like this. Plenty of lime, with just enough salt, and no hint of the usual cheap alcohol. Food all around was well received, but mine deserves special mention. Mazamolcajete was too much to say, so I just pointed. The side salad was unusually tasty, I know not why. It came, however, in a bowl as big as my head. I had to leave half to finish my dinner. A tasty mixture of beef, chicken and fresh tasting shrimp with cactus and other veggies, this came is a large black bowl with legs, made of volcanic rock. I have never (really) enjoyed something so much from any Mexican restaurant. Tres leches for dessert finished it off. Worth the drive, and unlike your usual tourist food. read more

I admit to being a bit surprised that a place that appeared thoroughly authentic Mexican (or even Tex-Mex) was so underwhelming. I was brought here by my family, who lives locally, and was proclaimed by them the best Mexican in town. Certainly, this might be the case, however, it didn't quite hit the spot for me. FIrst - the chips were fine, but the salsa was weak. When I requested a spicier salsa, the waiter didn't seem to understand my request. Hot sauce was not on the table, and when I asked for some, I got a small bottle of Tapatio. It's a serviceable hot sauce, but more recently has been a topic of concern due to it's sodium benzoate content. No matter, however. Let's move on to the entree! I ordered the Chicken Chilaquiles, which were much cheesier than I had anticipated. Again, it lacked a certain spicy characteristic, and fresh flavors that I crave with good Mexican food. The drinks definitely seem to be a draw for some of the patrons, as that they are generous and rather inexpensive. The portions are generous for the food as well. You will not go hungry if you eat here. Overall, I would come here again, when in town, because my family loves this place. Otherwise, I would be hard pressed to return. read more
