I've never been to Chuy's before, it was near my hotel....and the Outback that I originally was going to eat at had the AC set to very cold....and I knew I wouldn't be comfortable eating at the bar, with air vents blowing on every seat. Chuy's did not have that, so here I am. It was a weekday night, not crowded. Bartender was nice and on top of her game. You get a complimentary basket of corn chips, salsa and dip. All were really good. Bartender said the chips are made in house. They were thin and fresh. I had a burrito....it was basic, but nothing spectacular. Yes, I can recommend Chuy's. At least this location for now.

Whole cake

Their tres leches is amazing. But, the service and management I've encountered the past 2x are rude. Called to request strawberries on the side for an Uber eats order was told I would be connected to the person that handled the Uber eats. Management picks up phone. I explain the situation. He sounded annoyed. Didn't even do what I requested when he said he would handle it. Reason why I requested strawberries on the side was because my friend is allergic. & I was going to eat the strawberries it came with. Previous time, I placed an order for a whole tres leches cake 2 days in advance for a Sunday order. Was told it would be ready by 11. I get there at 11:30. Cake is still not ready. Had to be at work by 12. I was told to come inside, because it wasn't ready yet. Told them I was waiting in the pick up area because I requested the cake to go so I wouldn't have to go in, just wanted to pick up and leave. Finally, got my cake at 11:50. Don't recommend the whole cake. The single slices look 1000x better than the whole cake. Was embarrassing to bring to a work birthday party and they give you 1 side bowl of crema for a whole cake.

Baja Fried Fish Tacos and Combo Plate

I really really wanted to give this restaurant more stars. We have passed by it so many times at Opry Mills but it was always so crowded. So we went to Bowling Green and saw one there so we tried it out. I don't know if it is because it is the middle of nowhere, but it didn't add up to the hype of the other locations. I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos. I read on the menu that you can pick between Cilantro Lime Rice or another rice, as well as refried beans or another bean. She didn't ask what I wanted so after we both ordered, I said can I please get the Cilantro rice and the refried beans. My husband ordered the Combo that was a taco, enchilada, and tostada. He didn't get asked about the rice or beans either so we said well let's just see what you end up getting. We typically try alternating stuff anyways so we have both options to try. However, the food came out and I was sorely disappointed. My fish tacos were supposed to have a jalapeno cream sauce on them with cabbage. It came out with the tiniest line of sauce. And the fish. Oh the fish. It was so overcooked that it was insanely crunchy and burnt tasting. With just a small bit of coleslaw. The cilantro rice tasted good and the beans weren't bad but not enough of them. I had to ask for more jalapeno sauce. She brought me out some and it turns out it's basically ranch with some chili powder maybe? No heat at all. My husbands food was meh. There was nothing special about it. He for regular rice which was pretty bland. The sauce was just nothing tasty. His taco was all shell and so little filling. We were surprised at the taste. For the price, it was taco bell quality. The one positive was the chips and salsa. The salsa was a pico style salsa with nice chunks of everything and lime with a bit of heat. And they came around with a scoop to refill your chips. Our server wasn't quite on top of it either. She came to refill our drinks but than we had to hold our drinks in the air at her level (she was tall) while she poured. It was just water but I can imagine if she spilled. She also came back a second time and took our cups with her but we had to hold our straws. Which is also fine but odd when you are in the middle of eating. She also just didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. Just wierd to me. I'm unsure if we want to try the one in Nashville because I'm worried the food and service will be the same...

This was my first time coming here and the service was incredibly slow... I waited an hour to receive my food.

Food was excellent and service was good. Had to leave earlier than planned because music was so loud and I couldn't hear the conversation.

Did not feel like any of the food had much in the way of flavor. If you like more bland food, I'm sure this would be great! Portions were on the smaller size compared to other local Mexican restaurants so just be aware. Service was good. They did have some cool margaritas on the menu! We did not try but they looked appealing.

Pros: Ample free parking. Lovely atmosphere kind of glam meets Hacienda. Interesting menu a cross between Tex-Mex and a grill. Tasty margaritas. Complimentary chips and salsa. Fun spots throughout for selfies. Decorated well for Valentine's Day. Large ample seating areas both front and back. Large welcoming bar. Live music, at least for the holiday. And an extra special Valentine's menu. Fun outdoor seating, as well, which I'm sure will be very enjoyable in good weather. Cons: The food was terribly bland. Everything was verrrrryyyyyy under seasoned. Even the salsa has nearly zero flavor. Even the chips needed to be salted, and we asked for salt to be brought to the table, and they never brought it. Also asked for a salted rim on my margarita, which did not happen. My husband had probably the worst tamale of his life. It had virtually no filling, and the masa was inedible. There you have it. It's a shame because the atmosphere is lovely but the food is not. I might go back for a drink or two. I will not, however, be going back for dinner.

I looked at the menu and said this was a no-brainer to try. Unfortunately, my first attempt was on a Monday and they were closed. Why is Monday a popular day for restaurants to close? Anyway, I made it on a Friday for lunch. There were so many tacos I wanted to try! The best deal is the combo which has 2 tacos, a side, and a drink for $11.50. I asked the waitress if I could have salsa as my side and after checking with the manager, it was a yes! Because I really didn't want to pay $3.50 for salsa and it wasn't never ending! But the salsa was homemade and terrific. I really don't understand how places get away with charging salsa and chips when you find them for free. Anyway, I went with the Carolina and since I was in Kentucky, I had to go with the Commonwealth. These were among the best tacos I've ever had! The Carolina comes with pork, slaw, and BBQ sauce. The Commonwealth had more moving parts with fried chicken in a brown sugar/bourbon glaze, pico de gallo, fried poblano peppers, and ancho aioli. I considered giving this review a 5 based on the tacos alone but I couldn't do it. The unrefillable salsa was one problem. But the bigger problem was finding the second most unsweet sweet tea in Bowling Green after my fiasco at Smokey Bones. This is strike two Bowling Green! I asked my waitress if they had sweeter tea and she said she could give me sugar. Stop letting these Yankees make sweet tea, Bowling Green! They don't know how! I will be back for more tacos but I'm bringing my own damn sweet tea.
