Lunch buffet

Good food. We really like the lunch buffet. Friendly staff. Free parking lot. Good for groups and families.

Lassi
Tiffany T.

Service here was 10/10! Everyone was very kind and really friendly. The Lassi was a perfect sweet and tart. It reminded me of a Vietnamese yogurt treat that I really enjoyed when I was younger. The meal we got was a little pricey and when they bring it out it doesn't look like much but it ended up being the perfect amount for me and my partner since I personally don't like leftovers and usually cannot finish the entire meal. He ended up finishing his meal and part of mine. In terms of flavor, I thought it was really good! The flavor was just right. The only thing I wish we had more of was spiciness. I got a middle of the road spice level and my boyfriend got the spiciest but it didn't really feel that spicy. The place was nicely decorated and well lit and there were plenty of tables and spaces for large groups of people. I would recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area! Ask for some extra spice if you like spicy!

Daal Soup
Dominique D.

Takeout for lunch: boneless chicken tikka masala (comes with basmati rice) $21, and a side of daal soup $8. I ordered to tikka masala with a 4/6 spice level and was disappointed when there was no spice at all. The sauce is creamy and tasty, but was very mild in spice. The chicken was bland as well. The basmati rice portion was generous, which I loved. But the rice itself was bland and tasted of the water it was cooked in. The daal soup is small for $8, but had plenty of lentils. The downside is that the soup was also bland and lacked and spice, salt, aromatics, etc. Just tasted like a basic tomato base so I added fresh lemon juice and salt myself. This is disappointing because daal soup is my favorite dish! Overall, the takeout service was quick. The staff was very friendly! But the food was just okay. Had to give it a try since it's the closest Indian food in the Wallingford area.

was in the area looking for a quick bite to eat, and stumbled upon chutney's. the restaurant had a good atmosphere, seemed clean as well. customer service was great, all the waiters were super nice and welcoming. we went when it wasn't too busy but i was still pleasantly surprised by how fast our food came out, about 10 minutes. every dish was really yummy, and i didn't think they were big portions, however looks can be deceiving. a little bit pricey compared to other places ive been, but still very good. can't say much about the buffet since we had a la carte but id love to come back and see how it is.

AMAZING service and food ‍ we came a little late, when dining was closed, but takeout was still available and I cannot say enough good things about how friendly and generous the Chutneys staff was. They gave us water, paper plates so we could still eat our takeout in the courtyard, and were so nice. We got butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, rice, and garlic naan. Everything was piping hot and mind blowing it was so good. The restaurant is so cute too. I'd recommend Chutneys to anyone looking for a great restaurant experience with decadent and delightful Indian food!

Uncooked chicken
Ragini J.

Horrible food, we ordered through door dash worth 130$ and it's just gross! The chicken kebab was raw in the center, the malai kebab had no malai on it.. the butter chicken was uncooked, and just yoghurt and square pieces of chicken just thrown into it! The Biryani was just rice mixed with tangy tomato base - with a heavy raw turmeric taste! And the Delhi style chicken curry was a sham! Nothing about anything this restaurant served is Indian food! It's not that difficult people- all recipes are on YouTube, just look it up and cook accordingly. Don't serve shitty uncooked salmonella chicken to your customers! These pictures are after people ate and it's all uncooked. Please shut your place down! You are a scamming people!

I'm not sure what happened on my last visit as the curries were on the colder side. When you arrive parking can be a bit difficult, there is a small parking lot out front, if that's full you'll need to find street park. The restaurant itself feels warm, casual, and bustling. Queen you walk in you have the option to sit on the backyard patio or in the dining room. We opted to sit in the dining room as it just felt more intimate and the vibe we were wanting for dinner. For our appetizer, we started with the Samosas (Two crispy pastries filled with your choice of freshly mixed vegetables or delicately spiced lean ground beef) which were excellent. Next we ordered the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. The naan and samosas showed up piping hot but the chicken tikka masala & butter chicken were cold. I probably should have said something as I was disappointed but was too hungry to care at that moment. If I'm in the Seattle area I may stop by Taste of India again.

I thought the lamb and chicken were really tasty, and each had a distinct combination of flavors. They pack a good amount of meat and sauce in there, so even though each individual roll is not huge, it feels really hearty. I agree with their guidance that you should get two rolls if you're hungry. The one thing that I think is missing a bit from the rolls is a crunchy element. They have some diced red onion in there but not that much. I think I'd like the rolls even better if they had more of a crunchy vegetable in there for textural variation, but it's still quite good. Will definitely be back to try some of their snacks.

Not Meeshing Out…read more I rarely give a 1 star rating because every business deserves a chance, but Meesha was over the top in bad service yesterday. We walked in for a reservation at 7:03 pm and were sat at our table within a few minutes. This is probably the best part of our service all evening. It took our server, Rohan, a good 25 minutes to come serve water and menus at our table. When the first of appetizers came (Kale Salad), we hadn't even been served plates and silverware. When we asked for those, we were given some plates with some random PLASTIC forks and knives (see picture) as a way to get started on our food. By now, it was well over 8:30 pm for a 7:00 pm reservation to START on our food. We looked around and saw that all the other tables had actual silverware so we asked why we didn't get the same and were informed they're "low staffed." We looked around and the place seemed busy so we figured we'll be patient. The food came, which I'll say was quite good, but it didn't make up for the pathetic service we continued to receive. In the middle, we asked for the manager and some random guy shows up and told us he's a "part time on call server" and there is no head or manager on site. Toward the end, Rohan told us the dessert options and recommended we NOT eat the bread pudding "because it wasn't so good," so we ordered the rabdi. When it came out, I could see the poor guys look on his face and he even joked and said...."well, here's your bread pudding.....not....here's your rabdi." We looked at it and it was literally shrikhand. Rabdi would have some texture to it, right? He agreed that didn't look like rabri either. Ultimately we finished the desert, and asked for the bill around 9:30. Our usual server was probably so embarrassed with this evening's service that he sent another waiter, a Caucasian male to help us. I asked that male empathetically, how they were coping with the busy kitchen and slow staffing and he looked confused. He said they were "fully staffed for the day." He actually seemed confused about why we'd think they were short staffed. We paid our bill and decided we would not be coming back. What bothers me about this experience is their complete lack of awareness of the poor service. Just admit that the restaurant is having a bad day and comp a dish or two, but instead, all we heard was complete apathy and excuses. For a "fine dining" experience, this deserves a negative star option because you don't expect to pay a $200 bill for a dinner and get this sort of service. Do better Meesha - or at a minimum, have your servers get their story right when your service fails miserably. Not coming back and highly recommend others not go. If you want similar food with a much better experience, go to Kriket Club, Zaika, Farzi or a bunch of other places that have impeccable food and service. You're not Meeshing out by not going to Meesha.
