We loaded it up in two hours, and then they drove it down to the storage facility. All at no additional charge. These are fantastic people and provide wonderful storage units. Units are just a typical cube of space, nothing special, which is fine. Some have lights but some the lightbulb has burned out and was told they won't be replaced. Have 24hr gates access, requiring a passcode. Prices are much less than renting a Pod or other storage unit that stays on your property. If the location is convenient to you, I'd recommend it.

In mid-April 2025, I rented a climate-controlled small unit as I was beginning the process of…read moreselling my home. Between late April and the end of June, my family helped me store items in the unit. These were not material possessions--they were deeply sentimental. My daughter was born with health issues, and the items included her medical gifts from CT Children's, her baby clothes, and a few miscellaneous furniture pieces. As my home was in the process of selling between late June and July, I hadn't returned to the unit until Friday, July 25th. When I entered the "climate-controlled" building, I immediately noticed the hallways were very cold. But when I opened my unit, I was hit with a gust of warm, humid air. At first, I was slightly annoyed, thinking my family hadn't stored many items in this unit--especially since my other climate-controlled unit in Thompson, CT, was getting full. As my mother and I began moving things around, I quickly realized something was wrong. All the boxes were damp, and the plastic totes had a sticky, wet feeling. Then I saw it--mold. Mold was everywhere, covering all of my belongings. Let me be clear: these items were not stored in a basement. They came directly from my home, which had just passed inspection with no signs of mold. These were everyday items from a clean, safe environment. I took photos and videos. The unit had no ventilation--none. The longer I stood inside, the hotter and more lightheaded I felt. The walls were brick, and there was insulation at the top, but no airflow whatsoever. I immediately called the front office and left a message, as it was after 5 PM. The next day, the manager--who was very kind--called me back. After I explained the situation, he told me that mold wasn't covered. I explained again that the mold could not have come from my belongings. These were my daughter's irreplaceable items. He said he would speak with the owners. In the end, they refunded me two months' rent and offered me a free unit. But I would never accept that offer--I have zero trust in this facility now. I trusted them to protect items that meant the world to me, and I was left feeling dismissed and heartbroken. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others. If you want your belongings kept safe, look elsewhere. The owners clearly do not care about their customers. Even when presented with clear evidence that their "climate-controlled" unit had no ventilation, they did nothing meaningful to make it right.

They showed up about 15 minutes early and emptied my apartment in record time. Granted, I had moved a lot of boxes myself but needed help with the big stuff. When we got to my new place, there was a challenge with the couch. I know, my fault for buying a couch from Macy's without measuring it to make sure it will fit through doors. However, these guys tried so hard and didn't give up!!!!! I was about to give up before them but they wouldn't let me - thanks guys! We had a very negative experience with Woodland moving and will not be recommending them to any…read morefamily or friends in the future. We paid a significant premium over comparative moving companies for our large, in-town move because Woodland moving had been referred to us by a friend, and because at the initial assessment Mike seemed reliable and professional. First, the positive: the team loading the truck was fast and efficient and did not do any significant damage to the walls. Now for the issues: A $4000 cabinet was brought in with a completely sheared off leg and placed on that leg in an extremely precarious position. My mother happened to notice when it came off the truck, otherwise we would not have found out until the cabinet was nudged even slightly and toppled and broke further. When pointed out to the lead mover, he acted surprised and reprimanded the other staff even though he was the one that had brought the cabinet off the truck with a dangling leg. Our kids beds had several pieces missing during disassembly (which was done by the movers); the movers then spent several hours (mind you we are paying by the hour for this) trying to reassemble it, claimed that there was no issue even though it had clearly taken far longer than it should have, and then the bed collapsed on first use because it had been reassembled in a completely incorrect and precarious position to hide that pieces were missing. My kids had to sleep on floor mattresses for several weeks while we worked with woodland's claims department to get these beds replaced, and ultimately they failed to provide a reasonable solution other than giving us extra screws, and I ended up having to purchase wood and reconstruct the support legs for the bed myself to make it stable. When pointed out that a couch was missing its legs, were told it never had any legs... it did and was later found on the truck - screws for a TV stand were missing and had to be purchased and replaced another bed with a support leg misplaced and not constructed correctly There were further smaller issues that - all of this that just emphasized that the crew was not being methodical with disassembly (hence all the lost pieces), and were being frankly deceptive to hide that multiple items were missing or broken. Finally, we had purchased insurance for the move - thankfully - but because of the deductible still ended up eating a several hundred dollar loss because of all the broken items. We did finally get our bar cabinet repaired, but the furniture repair company reached out to me 1.5 months later to tell me that they still had not been paid by Woodland and had refused to return his calls or messages.

They've denied our many requests, and said they didn't promise an enclosed vehicle , which is an outright lie, because they are swindlers. Mike came to our home and we discussed and confirmed that our car would come enclosed and that the associated fee would be an additional $1000.
