I initially contacted another moving company for an interstate move from San Diego to Las Vegas. After a deeper dive into reviews and past customer comments on the top 3 moving companies I settled on, I opted for Level15 Moving. I wanted to go direct with a company and NOT through a third party. I reached out to Daniel (owner) and even though he was busy on a job, he took the time to text me back. We exchanged texts talking about the locations and the amount of items I needed moved. I was extremely satisfied with his quick responses and by the next day, I have an official detailed quote which had been emailed to me. After reviewing, I agreed to the quote and my move date was set. Fast forward to the move date. I had two Level15 movers show up at my residence on time. They texted prior to their arrival letting me know exactly what time they would be arriving. And that time was spot on! I met Ryan first and Nate arrived shortly thereafter. Both were extremely professional. We conducted a walk through of my residence and once the scope of their work was identified, they got to packing up my personal belongings. I needed someone to haul all of the heavy items for me as I was moving much of the small stuff. Ryan and Nate were amazing! Both worked very hard and they made short work of loading much of my furniture and heavy items onto their truck. They did so while remaining engaged with me and if there were any questions, they were quick to ask. They took care in making sure my personal items were safely moved and loaded onto their truck. I watched every step and they truly worked hard while working in 105+ heat! Once the truck was loaded, Ryan and Nate met me at my new residence and the unload began. They reassembled anything that they needed to take apart and offered to help me move all of my furniture into the spots I had planned for them. They took equal care of my personal items unloading and reassembling furniture and others items. They made sure they did not bump any trim, walls, or doorways and they took extra care packing and unpacking. In conclusion, I've been involved with several moving companies over the years due to my profession. This is by far, the best move of all of them. We had some furniture with legs loose and small broken spots, and they were very communicative whenever they noticed that something was off with the furniture. During the packing itself, they were super nice and conversational (not in a bothersome way). The next day, Daniel and Nate drove our stuff to our new home. They were super communicative about some delays in their journey, which helped me feel confident in the safety of our belongings. I spent WEEKS conducting research, making calls, and getting estimates from 16 different moving companies. I then got in-person estimates from the six companies I felt the best about, ending a truly exhausting due-diligence process. And while that all may sound excessive to anyone who actually reads this, I was REALLY truly worried I was going to get screwed over in some way. After all, this was a BIG cross-country move with a TON of stuff. This is also an industry that's notorious for fast-talkers, predatory bait-and-switch tactics, and unscrupulous methods that really screw people over with last-second price swings. In the end, though, I ended up choosing Move4Less and it wasn't really a close race. While their bid wasn't necessarily the lowest, it was HANDS DOWN the lowest of the companies I trusted. And I 100% believe I made the best choice in the end. I'll tell you one thing I learned during this whole process -- there are TON of slimy sales people and slimy companies in the moving truck business. They'll do anything to get a signed contract. ANYTHING. Everyone I dealt with and worked with at Move4Less, though, honestly came off as polite, professional, genuine, straightforward, and trustworthy -- especially Maggie Kolsar in sales and Krystin the estimator. They were both really great and truly helped seal the deal with me. Juan Hernandez and the guys who did the actual move were also exceptional. Sure, a couple minor things got broken or roughed up along the way, but that's to be expected in a 1,000-mile move. I'm a reasonable and rational customer. It simply was never delivered and remains on their equipment or in their facility somewhere. I notified the company immediately about the missing piece, but there has been zero effort on their part to hold their team accountable, audit the trucks, search the warehouse, or attempt to locate and return it. I was simply given the link to fill out the claim, which I finally had time to do recently amid the general chaos of moving. The artwork was a custom-framed piece from Hobby Lobby featuring a specialized wood frame and custom matting, which cost nearly $200 to put together. It went with a similar style work of art with the same framing/glass/matte-ing, that now, tbh, just looks weird without the mate. I'm not sure how the four wrapped up framed/glass pieces would have been separated from one another since they were all leaned up against the wall together at my old apartment. While the contract technically limits their liability to a few dollars based strictly on the weight of the item, a complete failure to deliver my property--combined with a total lack of oversight and effort to look for it--is completely unacceptable. I am writing this in good conscience to warn future customers about their lack of basic verification processes, and to encourage management to step up, look for my property, or offer a fair gesture to resolve a loss that was entirely preventable.
