The building is very small, when you walk in there are 4 tall tables with bar stools that seat 5 people each. We were fortunate to be the first to enter the restaurant and quickly a line formed behind us. It is 33 degrees out so it is pretty cold in the restaurant. They have a portable space heater and we made sure to sit at the table closest to it. I had to eat with my jacket on. We ordered 1/2 pound of Calamari, Jumbo Shrimp, a big load of fried smelts, and an order of 8 hush puppies. We only waited about 10 minutes. Based on the other reviews we were thinking it would take a lot longer. We also did not order anything with "lobster" because of the bad reviews for those menu items. We were pleasant shocked at how yummy and temperature hot the food was. It was all cooked to perfection. The calamari was not chewy at all! We highly recommend dining here The guy who took our order, kept asking us how we liked our food and if everything was ok... what a nice guy and we appreciated him asking us too! They serve bottled and canned beverages, wish they had coke product fountain drinks. The gambling area is nice and out of the way. The only complaint is that we should have ordered fries or another filling side because even though we ordered quite a bit and spend $40+ we were still hungry when we left. But we were definitely not cold after eating all that delicious hot temperature wise food! Yummy If we are in the area we will definitely stop back in for a bite to eat! Note: Sorry I took pics of all the food and I thought it uploaded... already deleted them before double checking.

Definitely order ahead then arrive early if you don't want to wait for the food. I tried this place for the first time and had the Big Wally sandwich. It was really good. The sauce they put on the sandwich gives it a nice kick in your mouth but it's not spicy. It's kind of like spicy tuna sauce for sushi. The fries were also really good. I would skip the coleslaw, it was pretty bland. When I ordered, they said 30 min, got there in 20 min and the food was just getting bagged up. You can eat at the restaurant. Not a lot of tables though. I think they mostly do takeout. I would definitely return the next time I am in the mood for a fish sandwich.

Delicious! I tried a carryout order of their shack platter and was pleasantly surprised by it. I love how generously sized the shrimp was and how it was cooked to the perfect firmness underneath the beer batter, standard breading, and coconut batter. I think that because of the quality of the shrimp, they didn't need to overly salt or season the food -- and even the use of sauces was unnecessary for a delicious experience. The hush puppies also have a nice texture and match the shrimp well. Overall, delicious comfort food and not expensive at all for the generous portion size and quality of shrimp provided.

I was actually excited to et here when I discovered it doing a local search for seafood. Sadly, i failed to meet my expectations. I ordered Lobster Rolls (2)...$23.99 Maine Lobster, mixed with chopped celery and red onions, served a garlic buttered brioche bun with a homemade seafood dressing and Chums Skewers...$6.00 Grilled Andouille sausage & Cajun Shrimp on a Skewer The order took a good 30 minutes to come out and I was hungry. I made the mistake of saying to Bob (my ride) that I judge a place by it's cole slaw. I took a bite and it SUCKED. Very bland. The lobster rolls looked like it was ground lobster and not chunks. And the taste was bland as well. I went to the register to ask for a container for my skewers and dropped it and that was the end of that. At least it didn't stink up BH's ride by sitting in a warm trunk for hours. I hadn't be so disappointed in a meal in years. Live and learn. We should have gone to Asadora's.

What a pleasant surprise to come across a seafood place in East Dundee. Eating in this town was a first for me and I was thinking of Giovanni's shrimp truck on Oahu or the Fish Keg in Evanston, when I was driving here. Anyway, I ordered the coconut shrimp and I just totally loved it. Crispy and light and the shredded coconut was delightful. I had this with the pina colada sauce - and it was a great match. I also enjoyed the chunks of soft and steamy cod, fried in light batter. That was very yummy!! The fries and garlic bread were notable. I do have a suggestion - I would order your seafood by the pound. Although we had two full meals, I kinda felt like there wasn't enough seafood for me. So next time - I'm just gonna order a pound of cod and a pound of coconut shrimp and then swing for the fences (go Cubbies).

Looking for chumthing delicious to put in your mouth? Just looking at the menu made me pre-chum. The big load of fries were crispy and firm. The lobster roll a creamy delight - a little sweet, a little savory - some Old Bay in there to get you to the finish. Lobster and filet mignon cheeseteak? OMG I'm going to chum. Lobster mac and cheese was insanely decadent with a generous portion of lobster meat on top. 10/10 would swallow chum. It really fills you up. OH GAWDDDD.

First off, the place is very nice looking - feast your eyes on the photos. Angled windows in front, nice table spaces, art at every table, a nice oil candle, and good enough lighting that you can read the menu without wrecking the intimate nature of a booth. The menu (photos attached) is loaded with good stuff. For an appetizer, we selected their Imperial American Wagyu Filet Carpaccio, which came with thinly sliced Wagyu Filet, topped with black truffle, king crab, kaluga caviar, panna grattato, and other tasty stuff. It was served on a white plate with bread, and was incredibly tasty. My wife ordered their Lobster Linguini (on the bill) or Linguini Aragosto on the menu. She enjoyed it very much, and even took some home. On the other hand, I went with their Butcher's Butter Spinalis which was a Ribeye Cap. It was very tender, very tasty, nicely seasoned and cooked as requested at medium rare temperature. With that, we ordered their Rosemary Potatoes, which were "family sized" (enough for two or three) and tasted great. We closed out with a cannoli which was two-sided with two different end preps, which was excellent. To work with all this, I needed a wine which would work for the seafood and the meat, so I selected a Grosjean Pinot Noir, which worked great with both. Service was very very very good - regular checks, food timing was good with each part coming out with enough time to easily finish it before the next course came out. Our waitstaff Ashley kept us watered, and even removed the cork from the wine using a wine key while standing. Nicely done! This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion, or just to go for a nice, relaxed meal. They do store their wine horizontally (like you are supposed to, see the picture) and keep it out of the sun. They also have a deli on the west end with reduced hours, so if you want something I'd suggest going there before you arrive so you don't miss it.

I've seen the sign for Sea Shack from Route 59 and finally got to try it when my sister was visiting Naperville. I called in an order and it was ready in 15 minutes. What we ordered for 3 adults: 1 lb peeled shrimp, mild, + corn + potatoes 1 lb black mussels, mild, + corn + potatoes 1 lb clams, mild 1 corn on the side 1 sausage on the side onion rings chicken tenders and fries 2 orders of rice We had plenty of food and enough for leftovers. My favorite part might be the cajun butter sauce with white rice... even more than the seafood. I love white rice with basically any sauce. The food was fresh, the sauce was mild as requested, still flavorful and not too salty. If you order the clams on its own, no sides, the bag might seem a little small but that's just because the clam meat is so small. For takeout, your seafood will come double bagged so it was leak proof. We decided to empty the bags into bowls since we were doing family style, and it was a hearty meal. I can't comment on the ambiance since it was a takeout order, but we enjoyed our food. We'll be back!

While it is technically a chain, it never felt like one. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with beautiful natural light that made the space feel elevated yet comfortable. Our waiter, Romi, who is French, was incredibly attentive and genuinely sweet--service throughout the evening was excellent and added to the overall experience. The NY strip steak was outstanding, with a perfect crust and cooked exactly right. The Caesar salad was another standout--simple, classic, and very well executed. The crab claws were fresh and delicious, though they do come at a premium price. The calamari was also excellent and generously portioned; it could easily be shared among four people. The bread rolls were the one miss for us. They arrived cold, and the butter lacked richness, tasting more like margarine--we wouldn't order these again. The potatoes au gratin, while tasty, weren't really au gratin in the traditional sense and felt more like a deconstructed baked potato. On the other hand, the asparagus was perfectly cooked and very enjoyable. For dessert, we were treated to a complimentary baked Alaska. While it's not personally my favorite dessert, the tableside fire presentation is fun--if you enjoy a little theatrical flair, it's worth trying at least once. Overall, Truluck's delivered a refined dining experience that stood out in an area dominated by chains, with excellent service, strong entrees, and a welcoming ambiance that made the evening feel special.

There is a separate vegan menu with half a dozen things on it, and other than the drinks and desserts, pretty much nothing on the regular menu is vegetarian. You've got your choice of various fruit lemonades, bubble teas, popping bubble teas, jellies, etc. Desserts include flan, Vietnamese yogurt, coconut jelly - none of which you'll be eating onsite as you'll be too full after your entree. Portions are on the large side - even the papaya salad is a meal. I got the peach lemonade, vegetable spring rolls and the tofu, vegetable and noodles, which turned out to be a soup, basically Vietnamese ramen. The spring rolls are tasty and come with peanut sauce; the vegetable broth was savory with lots of baby bok choy, plenty of noodles and cubes of fried tofu - it was even better with some of the homemade hot sauce, which I highly recommend. The lemonade comes in a bubble tea disposable cup and contains tiny pieces of fruit - very fruity, not very citrusy. Service was friendly and very personable, which helps if you're serving 16 people.
