I had an Haymaker estimator come out and he gave me a two to six hour range. When I asked why such a wide range he stated, "Well sometimes it takes an hour to throw the rope in the tree and the guys will sometimes forget tools at the shop and they have to leave and get them. This bothered me and questioned using them. The Haymaker office called and asked if I was going to use them and I brought up what the estimator told me. She said that the crews are professional and efficient so I decided to go with them. That was a costly mistake. Keep in mind the shop is less than a mile from my house. They showed up about a half an hour before sunrise and sat in the trucks for the sun to rise. They had two climbers and two ground men. The one climber started but the second one was fooling around hanging upside down on the rope and took an hour to start the job. The first climber finished his work and the second climber and groundsman started working. Meanwhile the first climber and groundsman was just standing around. It looked like the staged the work to take much more hours to finish. They actually slowed down everything to take three hours. I told my wife I bet the want to charge for three hours even though it was easily done in two hours. And to my surprise when I got the bill it was three and a half hour. I called the office to complain and they said they charge for travel time. I told they I lived less than a mile away from the shop. They shaved off the half an hour but I feel I was charged an extra hour do to purposely staging the work between two independent crews and they standing around until the clock showed three hours. Just be careful of small jobs with an unspecified duration. They run up the clock on purpose. They also snapped off one of my yard lights as they removed the branches to the chip. The team lead just stuck it in the ground when he saw it bit it actually snapped from it's anchor. I saw him push it into the ground.

I needed someone to remove an old tree on the edge of my yard and my neighbor's. Fortunately , I…read morestarted by reading reviews on Google AND the BBB. (I highly suggest that you do the same). My son recommended Kustom Trim because of his good experience with them. I saw that they have great reviews everywhere. Not all tree services have good reviews- so do your homework! I wanted the tree and stump gone, no roots left, and stump grindings removed. We also wanted new topsoil there, grass planted, and a smaller decorative tree in that spot. Guess what? Not all tree companies will do all of that. In fact, the company that has trimmed that tree for years wouldn't even haul away the stump grindings, telling me that they don't have the time for it! -I certainly couldn't manage to do that stuff at my age. Fortunately, Kustom Trim does it all, and their price was the best I found for a reliable company. Owner Travis Kernik was friendly and accommodating, and his workers were meticulous in caring for my yard and my neighbor's. They raked and vacuumed up every last twig, and not one extra gouge could be found in the lawn. My neighbor's nearby garage was untouched. All surface roots were removed. Then, after a few Spring rains settled the ground, they returned to add new soil, planted the new tree and new grass. Every last employee was helpful and careful. Only when everything was completed and perfect did I get a bill in the mail. I was really worried that this project would be ridiculously expensive and would require work that I'm physically unable to do right now. Turns out that all I had to do was make a phone call, then write a check after the job was done flawlessly. And the price was very reasonable. I thought service like this was a dead art... wrong! These pros know what they are doing, and they get it right.
