    Lobster tail and steak
    Janice Y.

It's like inflation didn't even hit us at Chuck's Roadhouse. I could get a lobster tail and steak for only $25. It's delicious, especially that lobster tail with butter is just yum. A great value meal. The only reason it's not a complete 5-star is that the server messed up one of my friend's orders, and he had to wait until almost everyone was almost done to get his chicken and ribs. In the end, he got a coupon for $5 that's only valid for the Pickering location. We also ordered their Caesar salad, which was noted on their menu as what they are famous for and also a tempura shrimp to share. Thumbs up on my end. I noticed my friends who have been before would order their steak one notch rarer just in case they overcooked. I just stuck to my medium rare. From looking at everyone's steak platter, they got the cook right this time (no need to ask for rarer). We were returning from a ski trip, and a friend told me it was her tradition to head to Chuck's later. A few of these franchises were on our way home. Each Chuck's location was so packed that we had to hop to the next. This is my first exposure to this chain. They have several locations outside the city. But I'm impressed with the value and would gladly dine again. A lively atmosphere and is packed on a weekend evening that we were there. My friend mentioned it wasn't busy the other weekend she went so it might be luck. They did not take any dial-in reservations. You must go there in person to get added to the waitlist, which is a bummer.

Looking for some traditional bar food at an affordable price? Then you should definitely give Chuck's Roadhouse a try. This restaurant is located in a small strip mall full of restaurants along Kingston Rd in Pickering. The menu is pretty extensive and some great value options available. Main attractions here are their drink specials, half price appetizers after 9pm, $15 full rack of ribs on Wednesdays, $10 Domestic pitchers on Thursdays. Their steaks are the best value around. Where can you get a AAA 7 oz top sirloin steak for $13? Looking for surf n turf? No problem how about 7 oz Top sirloin and lobster tail for $25? Holy smokes what a deal! Enough of the deals you will see on the pics I posted. We came here for the half price apps after 9pm. We ordered the $6 Corona tall boy cans and the following appetizers: 1. Loaded cheese fries - crispy fries with mixed cheeses, green onions, bacon, ranch sauce and sour cream. $10.99 reg. $5.49 after 9pm. 2. Just Wings lightly dusted, deep fried and tossed in your choice of sauce bbq, medium , hot or honey garlic. 1lb $13.99 reg. $6.99 after 9pm. 3. Buffalo chicken quesadilla - breaded buffalo chicken, mixed cheeses, tomatoes and green onions in a grilled flour tortilla. Served with salsa and sour cream. $13.99 reg. $6.99 after 9pm. The portions were generous for the price you are paying. The fries were well dressed, would have like real bacon pieces instead of bacon bits but overall great app! The wings were kind of small and medium sauce lacked the kick. They were crispy even and cooked just right. The buffalo chicken quesadilla was surprisingly good. Lots of breaded chicken tomato and cheese. This is not your authentic Mexican quesadilla but for bar food very acceptable and great finger food. Overall great experience here. Great value especially after 9pm if you're looking for some late night snacks and a beer. Our bill came up to $36 before tip. This includes a 3% honest surcharge for the food you order. If you're looking for a great night out for drinks and apps head over to Chuck's after 9pm you won't be disappointed. Follow me at IG whenhungerstrikes17

Our second time at Chuck's roadhouse but first time at this location. Pricing is very good and reasonable for the portion. It's definitely a lot less than what's being charged elsewhere such as moxies however do expect the food to take a longer time to come. The restaurant is pretty busy, we came on a Saturday around 5:30. Luckily we didn't have to wait long to get a table I guess it was because we were kinda early. We ordered two kids meal, a pasta and a burger it took about 45-50 mins before our food came. The wait time for the food was a bit ridiculous. So if you do have younger kids that can be a bit of an issue - just make sure you have something to keep them entertained while waiting. Overall, the food was great except for the butter parm pasta for the kid's meal which had no veggies or meat included just pasta - I didn't realize when placing the order so it was a bit disappointing and we won't be ordering that next time. All in all, the prices are decent will certainly be back again!

My favourite app, shrimp tempura with Thai Chili sauce! Just the right amount of batter.

We love to go Chuck's on Kingston Rd for half-priced apps after 9pm. So worth it! Usually there's a line up but you leave your phone number and the wait is usually less than 30 mins. We went on a busy Friday. Our server was nice and checked in during the whole meal to see if we needed anything. We ordered wings, spinach dip, steak bites and tempura shrimp. All great apps, steak bites are so good, with or without the CRH sauce.

Chuck's Roadhouse is a solid bar and pub where you get what you pay for. My friend suggested Chuck's for their affordable excellent deals on steak platters. It is a solid selection of steak to choose from, ranging from their $11 7 oz. Sirloin to the $25 Porterhouse Special. The one knock on this location is the slight inconsistency on their steak temperatures. If I ask for medium rare, mine would show up as medium well. If my friend asked for well-done, he would get medium-rare. The seasoning on the steak is good, but the temperatures do need to be remedied. The side dishes (i.e. Corn on the Cob, Fries, Mashed Potatoes) are solid options and if you want to create a soft and turf, you have an option of adding a lobster tail. Overall, it's a fun neighbourhood spot for affordable steak platters and good times with friends and family. I can't wait to visit again once dine-in options are available.

I had an early lunch today at Chuck's Roadhouse in Pickering. I've been to a few Chuck's and have had delicious meals. I sat on the dining room side. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and swapped the American cheese for mozzarella. It's amazing how low the prices are for what you get ... they are large meals and good quality. The burger was delicious. I'm not a big fan of fries but these were good, as was the gravy. I felt like something sweet so ordered an apple crumble. It was okay. "My eyes were bigger than my belly" and I probably would have been happy with the ice cream and whipped cream. Connor was my server. He was friendly and chatty and took good care of me.

Came in on a Thursday for the 50% off apps after 9pm. They made it very clear when we walked in that they were short of staff so even though they weren't full, we couldn't sit right away. We waited at the bar for around 30min and then waited another 30min for our food after ordering. We got the nachos and 2 pounds of wings. They're both great sizes and was enough for 2 people. Unfortunately they got one of our wing sauces wrong but they provided the correct order really quickly and didn't charge for it. Our server wasn't around much because of their short staff. The half off is a really great deal but I would only recommend this location if you have a lot of time to spare waiting.

You get what you paid for. Steak and lobster for less than $30. I got more fatty pieces in my meat and I gave the lobster tail to my wife so I ended up short. At lunch you can only pick fries or mashed as baked potatoes take longer to make I guess. We will be back but probably just for steak.

    16oz rib steak and fries

We went here on a Saturday night for dinner. It was busy but not super busy but we still waited about 20 minutes for a table. The server was nice giving us the menus and asking us what we wanted to drink. I ordered the 16oz rib steak (cooked medium) with fries. The girlfriend ordered a quesadilla and French onion soup. She thought the soup tasted real good but the quesadilla only so-so. My steak looked good on the plate but didn't taste that good. It was a bit bland. It wasn't seasoned at all. Definitely needed salt. I went here after a co-worker said he had eaten here and had good food. I think if I ever come here again I'd get a burger. Overall the place isn't bad. I've had worse....

Good value for the surf and turf dish. Nothing spectacular about it, but decent steak and good value meal in the area.

There was a buzz when Chuck's in Pickering first opened as it revolves around affordable steaks, beer and everything else pretty much. There was a wait of 25 minutes because there were many large parties on the 30th of December. We got a pager that reaches to the end of the parking lot. When we finally got a table, the waitress who didn't even mention her name took 15 minutes to get to us. Okay, cool. When the waitress finally took our drink order we decided to share a pitcher of 54oz. We were surprised by the amount of the pitcher had because there was so much room left to be filled. We asked to top it up and she declined because that is 54oz. Okay, whatever. We all ordered 10oz NY Cut Steaks with fries and my brother-in-law got the "all-you-can-eat" salad for an extra $5. Again, disappointing. The waitress didn't inform us that the restaurant had no croutons and she was not apologetic about it at all. You would think that with poor service like this would lead us to not giving her any tip but it's almost 2019 and we should ring in the new year right. The steak was dry and there was no seasoning but what can you expect for cheap steak. I would come here again just for the cheap drinks.

Spinach & goat cheese dip (comes with pita but I opted for tortilla chips instead)

Mad Dawgs features many of the same menu items, a similar vibe, and the same really cold, fresh beers and ciders. This is a typical neighborhood pub, with the classic and expected atmosphere. So, while some might think that it lacks ambience, in my view, its just what you expect: homey, casual, cozy, and the server actually remembered what my friend and I used to order at Bollocks! Today, we were just there for drinks, but if you liked Bollocks, then you will be quite at home at Mad Dawgs! I asked our familiar server about changes, and she spoke about some new wing sauces and dry rubs, and some upcoming changes to the menu. Apparently, they now serve brunch!. They still have my favourite buffalo wings, finished on the grill for that smoky flavour. They also still have the Edamame, which my friend and I like to order when we come here. The menu has pub classics, such as fish and chips, burgers, chicken tenders and steak frites. The dizzying variety of Mac and Cheese is new, and very tempting, all made with cavatappi pasta, which I prefer to the typical macaroni. The Nachos are also quite intriguing. Apparently, much of the Bollocks Kitchen Staff has returned, and they have an excellent scratch kitchen, which you wouldn't necessarily expect given the simple, pub-style atmosphere. It's great to see Mad Dawgs staying true to some of the former Bollocks foods, drinks and ambience, while also adding some intriguing new menu items and brunch! I wish them all the best, and I will visit often!

One night the guys from work and I decided we would go for a beer & wings. $13 for the all you can eat wings, and we split a pitcher. You pick your sauce and you start with 6 wings...........then slowly......... yep........ slowly they bring you refills of 4. They make you wait. No doubt part of the strategy, I assume they hope you get full waiting. Perhaps they think it will reduce waste. During our visit we got full while waiting and two us wasted 3 of the 4 wings each. I think this is such a stupid practice. (A) I'd never suggest anyone check it out! So no good word of mouth coming from me (or anyone in my group). (B) I'd certainly not rush to go back here, not now, possibly not ever. During our visit I asked the lady if we could double our order, I let her know I'd eat over 10 wings easily. I was told, "no, other people are waiting." Like you cant drop more in the fryer ? The kicker, the place had two other tables of apx 3 people per table. So 9 people including my group. But again, this is what they make you do. Slow service hoping you get full. I guess they want your $13 and no repeat business. Bar is dated and old looking, as I would suspect. Bathrooms were AWFUL. To be fair I should add, the wings were decent in size. The sauces are just your local grocery store sauces. The wings are all cooked the same, then sauced in your pick. We tried the HOT - it was dusted with some odd spice, not good. The Bufalo wings we ok. The sweet chili reminds me of the PC sauce I buy from no frills, and the parm/garlic were decent. All in all I would not go back. The expericne does not warrant another visit. The way in which they serve the customers is just off putting.

Menu is a tad over priced, but I can't deny it tastes good. Not overly salty or oily as bar food often is, and I actually really enjoyed their pasta. It's definitely a great place to go for a bit of a splurgy night with friends where you're prepared to pay $20-40 per person. I like it for a date night to have some heavier foods that I wouldn't want to try cooking at home. The short rib pappardelle was the best. I love the flavour and it's not too crazy heavy, even though it looks really creamy. It has very beef stew type vibes. The chicken wings were well cooked and still moist. I think it was too much flavour going on though. You LOVE the first and even second wing. But by the third one, I felt like it was getting too heavy. I know though that a lot of people love that and can't get enough of it. I personally don't like too much of any one thing. The brussel sprouts I felt the same. It's really yum for the first few bites but it gets really heavy after a while. I think it's really fun to have the appetizers and share a main with someone. The foods are a bit heavier, more of a flavour bomb, but everything is executed well and the staff are really nice! We've even done take out and the portions were very much the same.
