Updated review Feb 2026. I came here for late Valentines day dinner. The restaurant was packed. We waited about 10 minutes to get a table. The appetizers are half price after 9pm. We ordered the surf and turf 7 oz top sirloin and lobster tail $25.99 and the mesquite bbq chicken sizzler $15.99.. Both dishes provide excellent value. I was impressed with the sizzler plate the flame grilled chicken breast was spot on and the grilled red peppers, onions, broccoli and carrots complimented the dish. This would do well as fajitas. The steak and lobster was cooked to medium rare and the lobster tail was tender. The only negative was the calamari. They needed a couple more minutes in the deep fryer. The breading was a bit soggy for some of the pieces. The server was friendly and checked on us regularly. Overall it was a good experience and w3 enjoyed our mains. If you're looking for some decent food and great value, definitely come to Chuck's Roadhouse. read more

My partner and I, along with another couple, visited your restaurant. We have dined at this location many times before as mentioned without issue. We were respectful, quiet and paid our bill in full, and tipped appropriately. Our original server ended her shift and asked us to settle the bill which we did. We then tried to get the bar tender Ashley's attention. She ignored us. When she finally came over to us and without any prior interaction with her or explanation, she refused to serve us further when we attempted to order another drink. This was both confusing and humiliating, as there had been no inappropriate behavior on our part to justify such treatment. At first I thought it was because the bar was closing at 12 because it was good Friday, but she said no they close and at 1 and then proceeded to tell us that the liquor control board audits the bar and you are only allowed one drink per hour. We said we have never heard of such a thing , when we questioned her she told us we are no longer welcome and we are banned. We are all professionals who work for the City, the Government and Law Office we did nothing to warrant this treatment. In fact, it looked like she was trying to close early and perhaps this is why she said this. She was also serving a table beside us (which were her friends) -more than 1 drink per hour. What made the situation even more concerning is that we were the only two interracial couples in the establishment at the time. While I cannot definitively state the reason for the refusal, the circumstances raise serious concerns about potential bias or discrimination. We left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and completely shocked--especially as professionals in our late 40s who have never experienced anything like this before. When we were leaving, I saw our original waitress and asked her if there was a problem with our table she said no and we told her what happened and she said "Oh Ashley does that sometimes because she wants to leave early". First time at this location. I ordered top sirloin steak with fries Had a Guinness draft to start, it was bitter and not cold enough. The same everywhere though recently for Guinness, probably not a fault of the restaurant. For the steak though, it's fresh but very tough meat, had to chew a lot, felt like I was eating a well done steak but I ordered medium rare. The colour of the meat was right so I didn't ask to have a other one, figured it's the quality of the cut that's not up to par. Not many people in the restaurant so it was quiet enough for us to talk without having to raise our voice. The corn really had no flavour, maybe a hint of butter on the very bottom, other locations were more generous on the butter. I had to add salt to the corn. Looking for something completely average? If Chuck's Roadhouse was on Tinder it'd have a 50% right swipe rate.. Still probably a higher swipe rate than me but that's my problem. Honestly the food isn't bad, but it's nothing memorable either. The pricing is incomparable to other spots though, it's like they have happy hour at all times and when the do have happy hour - it's even more amazing. Since it is patio season, I definitely will be back during happy hour to get my fix of bar food and $4 beers. Overall, Chuck's is a decent place to hang out for a drink, or two. Stopped in to this Chuck's Roadhouse location for dinner. The wait time for a table was very reasonable. The inside of the restaurant was clearly very well kept and the staff were going above and beyond to make sure the guests had a good, safe and hygienic experience. I ordered: Top Sirloin & Lobster Tail - $20 7oz steak with a thick juicy lobster lobster tail. I asked for the steak cooked medium, and it was done perfectly. I substituted the fried for a side Caesar salad, it was creamy and delicious. I also ordered a side gravy for the steak which I highly recommend doing. Everything was delicious! My bf ordered: Ribs & Wings - $14.99 He substituted the fries for mashed potatoes, and got a side gravy as well. It was a lot of food, definitely worth the price. Our waitress was great. I can't remember her name, however she was the only waitress working all tables that night, and even though restaurant capacity is much less, she was still friendly and efficient while handling all the tables by herself. I had come here intending to order wings and a salad but the steak menu is so darn tempting, even though my last steak was overcooked. Where else can I get a 9oz Ribeye, 10oz Top Sirloin, or 13oz T-Bone for only $14.99 (with fries and corn on the cob)? I gave in and ordered the 13oz T-Bone medium-rare and added on the all-you-can-eat Garden Salad for only $4.00. What a deal! I also ordered a 12oz glass of beer for $3.00. Yesss! The salad arrived first, in a large wooden bowl. It was a very generous serving. There's no way I could have seconds. Great value. The steak arrived before I was finished with the salad. It was definetly thicker than the ribeye I had last time. It was also seasoned better and they nailed the temperature on it, medium-rare. Mmm, this was a good steak. This was definitely a better experience than my last, and worthy of a review update. The prices are cheap! Or are they? They have this thing called an Honest to Goodness Fee where they automatically add 3% to your overall bill. Huh? What? Why? Why not just add the 3% to the menu prices? This strategy artificially makes the menu prices seem lower. In the overall scheme of things, 3% may not seem like a lot but the concept is suspect. That 14.99 steak now becomes 15.44 and I would probably still buy it at that price. Would you? If the government proposed a 3% increase in taxes, we'd be screaming and rioting. This location is pretty good, the food has that traditional pub/bar taste. They price their food at a cheap rate considering what they are. They have all you can eat salads for $10, half off appetizers after 9pm, & even deals on pints of beers considering the sporting events trending. Their staff are relatively friendly depending on who you get. When they are busy, expect to be neglected or feel the need to repeat your order to them so you can actually get it. read more

Really bad service and the restaurant could use a good cleaning. The tables weren't wiped down and there was dust on the top parts of the booths. When the waitress took our order she had both of her hands all over the table and was leaning in way too close for comfort. She didn't even bother to write down the orders, so as assumed things were messed up. Food came out burnt and over cooked, we ordered the nachos and the cheese and chips were so burnt and I ordered a steak rare and it came out medium well). When I showed the waitress she just walked away (no apologies whatsoever) and came back with a plate and put it in front of me and told me to put my food on it to take to the back. I don't understand why she couldn't just bring the entire plate to the back. ANYWAYS, when the steak came back it actually tasted worse and the nachos were no better. Note: this particular location had only been open a week. My wife suggested this place and a way to support a new business in the area. The place was packed and the waiting area was too small to contain all of the eager customers. We, thankfully, arrived just ahead of the rush. We were promptly seated and had time to browse the menu and were ready when our server took our drink order. I had the roast beef sandwich with fries and a French Onion soup to start. My wife had their burger with fries. Dessert was their coconut cream pie. The soup arrived quickly but was stone cold. The cheese hadn't even melted. It took me 5 mins to flag our server to tell her the problem. I waited another 10 mins to get my soup (hot) just ahead of my main. The server apologised and said the kitchen was still ironing out the bugs. Ok. I guess. The rest of the meal was decent. However, swell of waiting customers was getting too much. Between the noise and two brats who just couldn't stay still and her running around. It was getting intolerable. At one point the father grabbed his youngest son and said, "Stop F@&)king Around!!" Then again it was a Thursday night and after 7:00 pm. There were other places near by that were more kid friendly. Suggestion: avoid being seated anywhere near the front door. The dessert was very good. The menu for the desserts are all under $5.00 and priced just right for a shared end to the meal. The roast beef sandwich and burger were very good and we will be back to try more of the menu without the romper room side show. PS We went there again this week. My husband asked what they had for domestic beer, she said I don't know what that is I think Coors Light, no biggie he ordered a Coors I ordered a martini. We then ordered the $20 Lobster and Steak off the menu, we were asked if we wanted loaded potato with it, we agreed (no mention of up-charge for potato). Meal was ok at best, my drink tasted like cough medicine. The bill arrived and our $20 meal was now $25 and loaded potato was $2.50 more each. I asked why the price of the meal on the bill was different than the menu and the waitress apologized saying sorry some of our menus still say $20 as the steak and lobster were a special during COVID. Came here a couple of times, prices and food are pretty decent. Once me and my partner went on a tuesday, and they were having a rib special in their menu, me and my partner had already ordered steaks, but was feeling like trying the ribs, when asked the male waiter to place an order of ribs, he asked if we would like to replace one steak dish for the ribs, we decided to just keep both steaks and add the ribs and have leftover to take home, but the waiter told us that we were not allow to take leftover ribs home as they were "on special". That was somehow upsetting as we were paying our dishes and is to our decision if we decide to take our food home or not. Ok, since discovering this place I've been several time now. This chain has to be the best deals in town for drinks and food. Where else can you go to get a $4 pint and a $6burger with fries? That's cheaper (and far better tasting) than a combo at McD's. They have daily drink specials, like $4 pints every day, $6 Schooners, $9 pitchers, on other days, Food: great prices and tasting pub dishes. I've had most things off the menus and have not been disappointed. Okay so I've been mulling this one over for a little while. The prices are the lowest I've ever seen, but that's when they tell you that you get what you pay for. First time ever went here I would have the ribs I got no sides not even the dry old corn on the cob that they offer with every meal. I have the two for one coupons that's why we thought would give it a shot I know they are new. That's why we went 4 times before I'm writing this review. I realize they're new we gave them a shot potentially next summer when we come back from Florida they make it one more shot the consistency is not there if I'm watching not only my food going back but the tables that are around us going back that's not a good sign. One of the managers explained that is chefs were from Belleville or somewhere in that direction will that's fine I'm sorry but if your Chef you should be able to operate in any kitchen not just the one that you're working in now. That's what makes a chef a chef. I have to give it a two and I'm being very generous at this point I want this place to be my go-to place and it's not going to be I'm very disappointed for that because their prices are reasonable their wine is reasonable. The young lady that's always at the front counter that the hostess I'm not even sure what she's doing there I'm going to assume she's either the manager's daughter or the owner's daughter because she's definitely not doing what she's there for somebody like that that is standing there flipping her hair could be going in wiping down tables and that includes the edges young young folks because people like to spill stuff on the edges of tables and there's nothing more gross and getting up and you have slop from the previous customer on the front of your shirt. As I said the menu and the prices are fantastic definitely have to work out the Kinks potentially will give it another shot but consistency is key and if I can't walk in and get the exact same consistency for the exact same item every time I walk in. The problem. The ribs were okay but they baked the barbecue sauce on top of it as if it was like a meatloaf so it cracked and it just not right. Unfortunately my family and I had terrible food tonight. We were all starving and looking forward to our delicious meal that turned out to be horrible. The burgers were so over cooked and dry, chicken fingers were rock hard my toddler couldn't even eat them and the quasadias were hard as well. We were so disappointed with everything. Worst place ever. Steaks came out cold and rare (we ordered med rare). I asked them to please just touch it on the grill; it came out well done. Worst was - it was my birthday which I told them. I ordered a long island iced tea. It was soooo sweet and tasted like a powdered mix. After just a sip I asked if I could please get a martini instead. They brought me one alright...one with a HAIR in it! She offered to replace it and that one came all cloudy and gross. We ate our meal but it was awful. The worst of all the Chucks I've been to, and I've been to many. No wifi ( it's 2019), they are always understaffed, the ones that do work there are miserable, and we had to wait over 15 mins between waitress visits. The Pickering location is close by so avoid this location if you can. read more

Waited in line for half an hour, when we finally got a table, the drinks took another 10-15 minutes, after an hour of waiting for our food, we asked the server and she said we were still 6th, or 7th in line, Not an apology or even a glass of water offered.So we decided to leave and got up and asked to talk to pay for the drinks and talk to the manager, host asked him to come and he didn´t, the second time she asked him, he said if we wanted to talk to him we had to go where he was. I honestly tried to give this place a chance. I was excited to try it, and actually drove 25km to get here. I was really hungry, because my last meal was 10 hours beforehand. Unfortunately it was a bust! I ordered the T-Bone steak cooked Medium. It took a while but not that long considering it was relatively busy. When it arrived I cut into it and started to eat, only to be amazed that my supposed Medium steak was actually Rare. So I told the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen. A few mins later my steak arrived again slightly charred - but still rare inside. This time I was very hungry and not too happy, so I showed the manager. He apologized and said he'll take it off my bill. I explained to him that my intention wasnt to get free food - I was hungry and wanted what I ordered but I'm tired of sending it back and forth. A chef in a steak roadhouse should know how to cook a steak?!? So he took it away again. I waited for them to bring me another but it never came. After waiting a while I asked where my steak is - apparently they thought I didn't want it anymore and would rather stay hungry and go home on an empty stomach. The server and manager were very nice about it all, but it's quite substandard for restaurant chain to make such mistakes. I never normally take the time to post, but I am making an exception. Several months back when we were finally allowed back into restaurants I wanted to have a great meal with my wife as we had an excellent experience at the Chuck's in Pickering and the food was excellent. However, we were so disappointed with the Ajax branch that now my wife never wants to go to the chain again. Both our meals seemed like 80% salt and 20% meat. It was not a good experience when you were looking forward to another excellent experience. I think chefs do that when the meat is old and they are trying to hide that fact. Very disturbing customer service from the manager Kim. Kim brought my drink to her nose and sniffed it twice to check if it was water or sprite. When I approached her about it, she couldn't understand her wrong doing. Not to mention, that we waited over an hour and half to be fed, even after we asked for the kids meals to come out first. When the food came out the children were sleeping. Between her and the owner, they seemed to find humour in the fact that the kids were sleeping. They argued that the adults meals took longer to cook, which I can understand, however we asked more than once to have the kids foods be brought out first. (They ordered chicken strips and a hamburger from the kids menu..which I can't see being cooked any longer than 20 min). Our waiter must have asked Kim if she could adjust our bill, in which she refused. In fact she had made up her mind before coming to our table, because when she did walk over to the table, she was totally offended and spoke to the fact that she did her best to seat us (none of which was relevant because that's what restaurants are meant to do... seat and serve and it was also not the basis of my complaint). Overall she wouldn't address any of my direct concerns and she wouldn't provide a sincere apology for sniffing my drink. Not once, but TWICE (who does that???). As a manager, she could have done a lot better with her customer service. This service was not customer friendly at ALL. That was my first and last time coming to the Pickering location.
