The sauces, however, were excellent and probably stood out the most for me. I would say the portion side for the price was disappointing. The Mac and cheese was a side portion at an entrée price. The service was below average during our visit. Our waitress seemed distracted, which was a little surprising considering there were only two of us in the restaurant at the time. The atmosphere also felt a bit disconnected. There seemed to be different music playing in different areas--John Denver on one side and Rihanna on the other--which made the overall environment feel a little disorganized rather than giving the restaurant a cohesive Southern BBQ atmosphere. There's definitely potential here. The sauces are great, the brisket was solid, and the food overall was still enjoyable. But with the reputation and reviews this place has, I expected a more memorable experience. A little more attention to service, consistency, and atmosphere could go a long way. I spoke with Kayla a few weeks ago, discussed what I wanted to do, followed up with her this last Wednesday, finalized the order and they were able to set up some tables for the ten of us, and another table for our food. All of the food was excellent, we ordered the pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, street corn, green beans, mac & cheese, and the beans, everything was ready for us, everything was hot and tasty!
