Just took a quick Run to Sanger this morning and stopped by chuckwagon have got the french fries in a big bag and the chili dog. We drove home and ate the whole thing on the way home chili on the chili dog is to die, for I would love to learn the recipe just out of fun, the hamburger in the chili has real good flavor it comes through and those little pop of heat in there. This place has been a part of my life for over 40 years. I am a big fan of the Clark burger and their fries. I really miss the shakes , the best milkshakes ever. I don't think it's quite the same quality but it's still good . It's a place for a casual old fashioned burger or chill dog . Of course it's not healthy but it's definitely a nice treat once in awhile with a nostalgic feel to sit in back on picnic tables. read more

I've heard about this place so many times, but haven't found an opportunity to go. So, on a Saturday afternoon we packed up the car and headed over for a chili dog. Okay, we walk out, and it kind of felt a little strange. I don't know what happened, but the line of people just kept starting at our family. Do we look out of place? Can you tell we weren't from Sanger? I don't know, it was just a very strange feeling... But, we get our hot dogs and fries and eat them in the car (covid). The chili cheese dog was really good! It reminded me of the Coney Island dogs from downtown. The fries were crinkle cut and they were pouring out of the bag. It was a really good chili dog. So disappointed. Was craving their chili dog but it had been a couple of years since my last visit. Drove from Fresno in the dense fog to get my fix but oh how I wished I stayed home. What I got was a bag of garbage. First let talk about how the chili dog, chili burger and chili fries were just thrown in a bag. Making it a 10 minute job to remove and unwrap so I wasn't wearing chili all day on my clothes. This is not the same place I ate two years ago. I took one bite of my chili dog and chili burger and scrapped it. I had bites of the chili fries and did the same. Flavorless would be over-estimating. Not sure how you can even remain in business putting out this so called food. Last but not least my receipt said $14.13 but my CC charge showed up as $14.62. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I didn't want to do this, however I took my kiddos for the last time to Chuck wagon after going for so many years as a kid and now taking my own kiddos. Food was disappointing, hot dog wiener was cold and very skinny so they changed the hot dog and the buns were like from Sunny Select ripped and fell apart easily not like the buns from before. Bags of fries were smaller and a lot of hard ones. Service is good. Ambiance well you know it needs to be updated but that's what makes it Chuck Wagon. Sorry it's our last time going there. Best chili cheese dog ever! I hadn't been to Chuck Wagon in years, but it was dinner time when we were headed back to town from Sequoia/Kings Canyon, so Chuck Wagon it was! There were several people waiting for their food when we got there, but the order line and pick up area kept moving along. No picnic tables there anymore due to the pandemic, but people were eating in their cars or taking their food to go. We found a spot to sit on a little brick wall near the parking lot. Our food was up pretty quickly. Almost $35 for three adults and a small child. Definitely worth it...everything was great! My chili cheese dog was like a footlong hotdog with chili (amazing!), cheese, mustard and light onions (as requested). The French fries were the crinkle cut kind and there were a lot of them. Two people can share for sure. We had root beer to drink and it was really good, too. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend. read more

Can't beat the price. Burger is only two bucks and long crispy fries are around 2.50. It was my first time in 30 years since I ate here and the food tasted just as good as before. The building is the same as back then so is the menu. Maybe even the price I don't know but not much has changed. I can see why Google Map has over 1,000 positive reviews on this place. I don't know how long this place had been in business before I went here 30 years ago but it's really impressive to me that they are still thriving after all these years.
