If i could give zero stars for service, I would!
WORST MANAGER EVER!!!!!
FRIDAY AUGUST 11 AT 8-10 PM.
Our evening at Chuck's Roadhouse Angus was an utterly dreadful experience, to put it mildly. As part of a 10-person wedding party, our hopes for a pleasant evening were quickly dashed. Admittedly, I work in the service industry and understand the challenges of accommodating larger groups without a reservation. However, the responsibility of determining this should rest with the restaurant's manager and host, not us, the customers.
Half of our party had arrived 15 minutes earlier, only to find their drinks languishing at low levels. One would assume they should have been prompted for a refill by then. Upon our arrival, the restaurant wasn't bustling, and our initial information indicated only a handful of occupied tables. Yet, the server's arrival was agonizingly delayed as they managed drink orders for the newcomers and refills for the original group.
In an attempt to lighten the mood, I ordered a "Muffdive" and a "Blowjob" cocktail for the soon-to-be-wed couple. Regrettably, the "Blowjob" lacked its signature whipped cream flair as there was the tiniest dollop, while the "Muffdive" was presented in a glass that required a contortionist's skill to retrieve the shot. Let people know that you don't have the glassware.
Despite the initial frustrations, our excitement for the upcoming wedding kept our spirits up. However, waiting 20 more minutes for our drinks, only to be served the incorrect one, further tested our patience. Not wishing to exacerbate an already irksome situation, I let the mix-up slide.
Another exasperating 10 to 15 minutes dragged on before our presence was acknowledged for food orders. Following an agonizing half-hour wait, our appetizers hadn't even materialized, prompting us to summon a manager. The older woman who arrived emitted an air of defensiveness, far from the apologetic response one might expect. Her inquiry about our reservation status was abruptly direct, failing to grasp that, as customers, it isn't our role to ensure service standards are upheld.
I took the time to convey that, managing a team of 40 in the food and beverage industry myself, the burden of service quality shouldn't fall on the patrons. If the staff were overwhelmed, it's their duty to manage reservations and allocate resources accordingly. Her insistence that this wasn't her "first rodeo" served only to underline her disconnect from our grievances. She angrily and defensively let us know that she would be checking the cameras to verify our qualms. I hope she can see that we didn't really have much service when she checks. And then later when we had asked for our bill and we had mentioned that we had been chasing our server around all night, her response was "well, it was only twice".... We shouldnt have to get up at all?
The main courses left much to be desired. Although some in our party had ordered filet mignon, only my plate bore resemblance to that description. The others seemed to receive poorly executed sirloins wrapped in charred bacon. A particularly disheartening sight was my sister's chicken, dry and reduced to unappetizing morsels on her salad. As for my steak, ordered medium, it arrived with a disconcerting pool of blood.
While some dishes managed to salvage the evening, the overall experience was woefully disappointing. The food quality, paired with abysmal service and a perplexing display of management, ensures that Chuck's Roadhouse Angus will never be graced by our presence again. It's a reminder that subpar service is one issue, but inept management compounds the frustration. Perhaps a kinder approach could serve as a lesson for their future endeavors. Things honestly would have been better if management handled this situation properly. read more
