This place is a gem! First of all their memberships are the best thing! So affordable!! Plus if you fill out the surveys you can get an extra 30 mins play time!! So clever! Threw a small bday party for my kiddo and a few friends, picked the "self-serve" package with 2 hrs of games and all-you-can drinks included (I brought a sharpie pen to mark the cups). You order food separately and pick up at the window, which was fine; it allowed me to buy pizza and order more if I needed without extra food or waste. I brought my own cake. Kids had a blast and got some good play time and prizes. One of the kids lost their card and Mila and manager (sorry didn't get her name!) were very helpful in getting him a replacement card with all his tickets intact. Mila was helpful with the ticket blaster (my son got to invite a friend and it was a hit). Then she was so patient at the prize counter. I was able to walk around, take pics and eat, which is a rarity with bday parties sometimes! Recommend this place, pretty affordable and the gals working there are so nice. read more

The food is actually good but more care on how they bring it out would be appreciated. The Service sucks it takes extremely too long to get a clean table and cashing in tickets the wait is too long. They are seriously making you and your kids give your vaccination card to be able to go in. For one it's none of anyones business if I have it or not and even if you do have it you can still spread the virus. My children were heart broken cause they wouldn't let us go in. It's staffed a bit short yet with patience, they service you with kindness, promptness and respect. They lifted the mask mandate today. So you can choose to wear them or not but we know how kids are with food, drinks and candy! They are cleaning about every 30mins, which I'll take over once an hour. If there is an issue with the machine, they will send an operator to help (may only be during the afternoon). Have fun! read more

The GM Armando was VERY discriminatory towards my elderly mother. She's not good with phones and technology. She had a coupon for 2 60 min all you can play cards for $37.99, but has asked about the weekday deal of $14.99. She was told that was only mon-thurs., perfectly fine. However, when she asked for help with the coupons he told her "you're just going to have to look for yourself". I got there after finishing my errands and we went back up to get refunded since we found the coupon...which had he assisted her and LOOKED at the phone AT ALL, would have seen that the coupon was already on her phone, and we wouldn't have had to ask for a refund on the difference in the first place. They called an hour after the order was put in only to say they were missing specific ingredients. It was hard to communicate with the guy on the phone because he didn't speak English well. I posted specific instructions about not ringing the doorbell and to call the cellphone, but they rang the doorbell anyways waking up all the people in the house who were trying to sleep. The pizza was terrible. It tastes like it was thrown in a microwave to heat. I dont recommend ordering here. They should offer discounts or options to cancel when they mess up. I feel that writing this review will not change their behavior as they probably don't have good public relations with yelp or have any intentions to make things right. read more

So I came here for a birthday party today for a one year old. While I really enjoyed myself, it was only because of the company. It was nearly empty with only about three or four groups there at once. This place has definitely gone downhill in the last fifteen years or so since I went frequently as a kid. There seems to be less games and even crappier prizes, if that's possible. With Dave & Busters so close in Orland, I don't see why people would bring their kids to Chuck E Cheese's. The only thing worse than the lack of games was the employees that walked around like miserable zombies. I get it, I wouldn't want to work there either with all the screaming kids and ratchet clientele. But a smile and positive attitude goes a long way in the customer service industry. Wow. This was bad. The staff filled with teenagers sat in the dinning area thee entire evening while I was there. They were using profanity and talking about sex aloud infront of the guest. I had my mentally ill son there. They made fun of him as he walked by. They brought out our food under cooked. We tried to order something else and they said the kitchen was closed at 7pm. One girl got on the Entercom and said they were closing at 730pm. The other staff was telling people she was lying as the guest headed towards the door. We've actually 3-4 family events here over the last few years and in the past I've accepted this place for what it was without writing a review but after our latest trip there....this review is a message to their corporate office. The place is generally understaffed and seemingly undertrained. Overall cleanliness: 3/5 Food Quality: 4/5 (Surprising actually) Service Quality: 2/5 (Ignored by numerous staff members while waiting) Staff Friendliness: 2/5 (Ignored numerous times while waiting, not greeted, etc.) Additionally they've changed their ticket and prize system. I've long accepted that the prizes are of dollar-store quality but you could at least win enough tickets to actually redeem them for a prize but now the number tickets required for even a "simple" prize is laughable. Not blaming the staff here or their managers. These issues are all corporate ones. read more

Well, I survived. My baby (my oldest baby, actually) just celebrated his fifth birthday. Five! When asked what kind of party he desired, he responded with a resounding "Let's go to Chuck E. Cheese!" Now, listen. My kids are far from sheltered, but I try to avoid garbage-y/gimmick-y food attractions, namely because I value my self-preservation. But it's not every day that my baby turns five, so my husband and I grimaced wildly (and repeatedly), and then sucked it up and booked the party. Here are the positives: [x] At my last Chuck E. Cheese adventure, I'm fairly certain it went by the name of Showbiz Pizza (anyone remember this? Did I just give away my age? ;) so it's been a long ass time. That said, I was pleased to see that someone was at the door stamping and checking stamps (numbering system for child safety) accordingly--the whole time we were there. [x] Our hostess (Taylor?) was amazing. Enthusiastic but not sickeningly so; completely helpful and not at all pushy. She ran the party without really running the whole thing over--just awesome.. [x] Apparently, they now have some sort of new pizza. It was surprisingly decent. I was expecting total garbage, and while I wouldn't wake up craving it in the night, it was still better than I expected it to be. [x] The manager came over to each party and introduced herself, checking to see how we were doing, if we needed anything, and if we were all having a great time. I think her name was Angie. And she was great, too. [x] It was overall a LOT cleaner than I had anticipated. I can't speak for the bathrooms since I didn't experience them, but the restaurant was well lit, as clean as it probably could be (all things considered equal), and didn't make me feel like peeling my own skin off. [x] Every game is one token. The kids were all over this. And you get lots of extra tokens if you book online or at certain times, etc. [x] We booked the party package of $17.99 per child and they spared no expense in making sure my son was one of Chuck E.'s "guests of honor". He loved it. The other kids fared pretty well, too. Here are the negatives: [x] The party area is pretty close quarters which makes it A.) even more ridiculously loud and B.) hard to maneuver through the aisles to your table/seat. We were seated right in front of the "performance piece" (read as: creepy motorized animals), but I could see how someone with a party at one of the back tables might be pissed. Make sure you reserve extra seats so you have a place to set your gifts. Rather have extra seating than not enough. [x] As it turns out, my four year old daughter was terrified of the costumed Chuck E. making the rounds. If you have a kid who doesn't jive with life size animal costumes, I'd exercise extreme caution during the birthday show. [x] That brings me to the actual birthday show. It was cute, engaged the kids, celebrated birthdays, etc., but the motorized animals performed once during our two hour party package. I mean, I know I'm old school, but I remember those motorized Showbiz creepers taking, like, a ten minute "break" every hour. I think it would've been a bit more engaging had they turned on the motorized entertainment. [x] This should probably go without saying but there are a lot of little kids at this place. If you're not willing to dodge the errant two year old on the run or deal with the bossy seven year old who won't take turns, chances are you'll leave this place a little steamed. [x] Per my husband (who was on "bathroom duty" at the party), the bathrooms were okay but could've stood a more regular once-over. [x] It is loud. Not like Ozzy Osbourne in concert loud, but loud enough. So while you don't need earplugs, you should come armed with Excedrin. [x] Cashing in the tickets is a lot easier with the automated machines, but since all games only cost one token, the "prizes" are total garbage. My kids wound up with a TON of tickets and it bought a load of crap. One small, temporary (i.e., last through one bath maybe) tattoo? 10 tickets. Lots of tickets, little prizes; hope they recycle those suckers. All in all, it was a pretty decent experience. My now five year old loved it to bits and that's what matters the most. On a rainy day, we'd probably return, but I don't know if it would be, say, my restaurant of choice for my personal birthday celebration. But the sweet siren song of the motorized Rat? It will lure my kids in for many years to come, I think. :) read more

This is the email I sent to the corporate offices of Chuck E. Cheese. I think it is a fitting review. My cousin held her daughter's 7th birthday yesterday afternoon at the Tinley Park location. My 3 children, husband and myself all attended. Let me walk you through our experience. The parking lot had no available parking, not one space. We had to park in a parking lot for an adjacent business and walk to your establishment. We then had to STAND OUTSIDE just to get to the doors as there was a line of nearly 50 people waiting to get in. Stand outside with our 2 year old son, 4 year old daughter, and 10 year old daughter. During our wait outside just to get to the doors, I played a counting game. The magic number was 4. 4 was the number of infants in baby carriers or a parents' arms, standing outside, in the January weather. Once we were lucky enough to enter the establishment your "greeters" did little more than scream at the people standing in line. We waited nearly 15 minutes just to get to the greeter, who was incredibly inept and rude. The hand stamping boy grabbed my 4 year old daughter's arm and snatched her toward him. She said "ow that hurt" to which he said ... absolutely nothing. Breaking away from the Gestapo-like greeters we were directed to the party area which consisted of 6 or 7 rows of long tables crammed in an area which was much better suited for no more than 4 tables. In the 2:30 to 4:30 time slot this location had 10 birthday parties running consecutively. There was barely room to breathe, or move, let alone enjoy yourself. I won't touch on the food as, let's face it, it's Chuck E. Cheese every human on the planet who is unfortunate enough to dine there knows the sordid quality of your food. I will say that your business resembles that of the infamous Union Stockyards in Chicago, and on an extreme level, the human herding and industrialization you have created could be compared to a Nazi concentration camp with an engorged stuffed rat running the show. I ask you not to respond with a coupon for your tokens, your tickets, or any of your fare. I want nothing from you. I simply want to reassure that I am an extraordinarily talented free-lance writer and you are not the only people who will receive this message. I highly recommend you alter your business practices, or perhaps exterminate them altogether. You are an example of capitalism at its very worst and I think a fitting idea would be for you to attend a Saturday afternoon at any of your locations. This place is sad. The employees hate their jobs and the customers. Their new point system is less than efficient and is just a headache. I waited 30 min in line to transfer a gift card to a game card. The employee never smiled or said hello. I waited 30 min in line to order a pizza. No smile or hello. I waited 1 1/2 hours to receive said pizza. I walked in the back kitchen to get an update (hopefully avoid the 30 min line) bad idea. You do not want to see that kitchen. There's no way they pass a safety sanitation test. I waited in line 30 min to ask about a game eating tokens but not functioning. No resolution. Waited in line another 30 minutes to redeem points. To which after spending a god awful amount of money we walked out with two airhead candies, a sticker book, and a snap bracelet. Wow. The employees are everywhere!!!! But not working..just roaming. The place was very clean and I really had no complaints until the staff worker that worked the door this particular day (9-2-17@ 3-3:30) allowed my son who is 7 to walk out with someone other than myself. She flashed the light on both the woman and my sons arm however the numbers couldn't have matched! I didn't walk in with her! This young lady was just flashing the light and not looking to see if the numbers matches the kid to the adult! I was quite appalled and when I seen this I said to her "how are you allowing my son out of here with that woman?! I'm his mom! Initially I asked about pizza sizes, but was advised to figure out what drinks I wanted first. Not sure what difference it makes as it wasn't made clear. I decided with an xl pizza and two drinks but the attendant seemed to cringe and suggested we instead purchase a meal that included a large pizza upgrade and two drinks. Upon receiving the Pizza it looked recycled and there was a utensil that was lifting two slices that appeared to be the most obvious mismatches. It seems to be that the large pizza is the most likely to be recycled so I was somehow tricked into purchasing that size. The left side of the street hoops machine has broken sensors, half the shots were not registered. The most helpful and caring employee was the greeter that seemed to have a disability, he was great! read more

I have been to many and I mean MANY of these places and they are all about the same: DIRTY, CROWDED, RUDE, BAD FOOD AND IN SOME OF THEM KIDS GO FROM TABLE TO TABLE JUST ASKING FOR MONEY!! Had my daughter's birthday party here last weekend. I choose an 11am, Sunday morning party time in hopes of the place being less crowded - - - hah! The place is crowded. Crowded. The manager mentioned that there were 7 total parties booked to start at 11 that morning. Yikes. That being said, the party host was fabulous, the manager checked in on me, and the kids had a ton of fun. I basically sat there and babysat the party table while the kids ran around and spent their tokens. The only complaint really how crowded it is - the parties are 2 hours long, with a very short 'flip' time in between bookings. Our party ended at 1pm, and ooooohhh boy. As the first 7 parties were all ended at the same time, and the next go-round of parties starting to fill in and set up camp - it's MORE than a madhouse. I guess I'll mention the pizza. It's horrid. It's like eating a salt block. But hey, it's a chuck e cheese. You're not going there for fine dining. The kids ate it just fine. read more

Love the new pay by the hour plan. My kids had a blast but the employees are either non existent or incredibly rude. When my kids went to cash in their tickets we had to wait 5 minutes for an employee to show up. He acted like we were a huge inconvenience and they were out of many of their prizes. Went here on Saturday for a birthday party. The party was supposed to be from 5:30-7:30. However the staff seemed to not even know what they were doing. We stopped someone at 5:50 to ask who our host was and they didn't know. We finally received a hostess. And it still took another 10-15 mins to receive the cards for the kids to go and play. The staff tried to make up for the inconvenience gave us some free drinks and the birthday girl some free tickets. We had to remind them 3 times that she gets to go into the ticket blaster. What matters most is the kids had a good time. And they did. But it was so crowded and there was garbage everywhere you looked. I think this visit ends our visits at chuckee cheese. read more

This CEC location used to be my favorite to attend. I used to take my niece and nephews here all the time but with time, they outgrew it. Today was my first time going to Chuck E Cheese's in years and I was there leading a group of very little ones. I was so unaware of point systems, pass cards and everything else but the staff on site were accommodating and worked with my group to provide the best service. My problem came when it was nearing time for my group to leave and my group tried to turn in the tickets to get their prizes. The manager (I assume was manager, a woman with dreadlocks) looked at my children and with the most hate-filled voice she told them they couldn't redeem prizes because they were with a group and to redeem them they had to come back another day. If it's policy, then fine, I wasn't aware beforehand and she should have notified an adult rather than children. Another manager said, no it was fine but the manager with the dreadlocks said she was busy and she wasn't going to work with my group and they could wait in line until someone was available. She then proceeded to do nothing at the counter until another employee finally came to help out my little children. This location has always been good to me and I am so disappointed with the service I received from this manager. The only reason why I gave this review of 2 stars is because my kids said that they had fun despite these issues. Thank you to the employee who helped my children out. As soon as we got to the venue in Tinley Park, Illinois, All the tables had plates and cups all over! We couldn't find a place to sit, When we did find a table it had food all over the table. we asked one of the workers if they can send someone to clean the table for us and he simply said, "I don't clean". We asked a few workers and they said to hold on but never showed up so we had to go to the bathroom and grab towels to clean the table our own self. After getting our table situated we went up to order some food. We were in line for a good 20 mins. The cashiers were not even taking orders but chatting with customers. My mom was really looking forward to the salad bar but when we looked at it, it was a mess. The lettuce mix looked old, what I'm supposing was ham was brown already from being out. The dressings had other food dropped inside and the spoons were all the way dipped into the dressing. So people would stick their fingers inside to get ranch. So we couldn't get a salad because the bar looked disgusting. We settled with pizza and wings, received our plates and cups and went to our table. We took turns to get our drinks since we had my little sister at the table and didn't want to leave her alone. Turns out when my dad went up first to get his drink, their was no ice in the machine. So when me and my mom went up to ask if they can put ice, they either ignored us or said they will take care of it but they never did. Even the manager brushed us off. About 10 minutes later another worker walked by and she was very helpful and refilled the machine right then and there. So we got the ice after a while of waiting. We sat down after and waited for our food but it never came. My dad sat at the table to wait for the food while me and my mom took my sister to go play. An hour passed and we checked on my dad, and we still haven't received our pizza and wings. We finally had to ask them what's going on with the food but they said they'll get it out in 5 minutes, that they're focused on a birthday party. The party only took about 2 tables. Shouldn't the pizza already preordered for the party? So our pizza came about 15 minutes after we reminded them. And it wasn't the best pizza of course. While we enjoyed the pizza, we went to look at the band, and they weren't moving. So we asked if the band will play, apparently the machine was broken. So they won't be moving for the kids. So we shrugged that off since we were waiting for Chuck E. To come out. They had big signs saying that he comes out every hour on the :30 mark. From the time we were there, which was a long time- he only came out once. And that was to say happy birthday to the party and then after saying goodbye, he went back to change out of the costume. I felt bad for the birthday kid. Everything was unorganized, the cake wasn't out in time. Chuck E. Didn't come out in time and only came out for 2 minutes before disappearing. But that's not my concern- my concern was that he didn't come out at all for the other kids and my sister didn't get to experience that. So those were the start of the issues. We went to play games and earn tickets to get my sister a prize and it went well except for the fact that some of the coin machines weren't working properly. One was a game where you shoot the coin at a target and earn how ever many tickets the target says. I got the big 50 TICKETS but the bonus round didn't work. The drawbridge didn't drop. So I didn't get my bonus. I wanted to play foos ball but when I put my play card to the sensor, it took my credit but no balls came out. Then I realized none of the alleys had balls in them. They were all jammed in the pockets up the alley or they were being thrown by the kids playing. After just sticking to the coin games and earning tickets. I went to go redeem the tickets at the water. Out of the 6 they had, only two worked. All the others were jammed. I asked an employee if they can fix them or see what's going on but again, "I don't deal with that". So I had to wait in line for a long time. When we redeemed the tickets we went up to redeem prizes and people are just out of control, cutting lines and all. Only one person was redeeming prizes while the others were chatting behind the counter ignoring the people asking for help. One guy did take notice of the chaotic Line and asked if everyone can get in a line. I had about 550 tickets. So I'm not getting anything for me, I'm redeeming to get my sister a prize. Everything I wanted to get her, "we don't have that". So I literally had to get 4 of the same bracelets. And the rest tootsie rolls and inflatable little phone holder? So I couldn't even get something good for my sister. I will never be going to that Chuck E. Cheese. Or any, that is the only closest one and that is already a 45 minutes drive to Tinley park.
