Chuck. E cheese Savannah is ok, and I say ok because some games were broken. With the volume they get, I believe the place should be running 100 %. I can't complain about the food, because it caters to young kids. I can say that the staff makes this place. I saw everyone working and doing their best. Positive attitude and big smiles some had were welcoming. There was fair spacing, but it did get crowded at some point.

It's the Year of the Rat, so that means it's Chuck E's year! I thought it would be appropriate to write a little something about the little rodent and his home, loved by so many little humans. Ok, a mouse and a rat is not the same thing, but as the saying goes in some movie, same same, but different. We were invited to a birthday party at this location recently and needless to say, my kids were not only excited to celebrate their friend's day of birth, but also to celebrate with the mouse at his home. - Parking - Center lot. - Vibe - I don't know about you, but I feel like it sounds like a casino in there. The combination of the different sounds of the games, children running around with excitement and one of the machines with almost a siren-like sound blaring, it's just a lot of stimulation. I AM too old for this, but I was there for my kids, so sometimes I gotta take one for the team! - TLC - I think high school kids who get a job often get a bad wrap for working without the know-how to work in a public setting, but the kids working at the time of our visit seemed to have been trained properly because every one we encountered from entrance, food service and ticket redemption were professional. - Eats / Refreshments - CEC has their standard salad bar, pizzas and cake. We didn't partake in the salad bar, but the pizzas were served for our party. Is it the best pizza we've ever tasted? No, but it didn't taste like frozen pizza either. It was hot and the kids ate it, so that's all that matters. Now, one thing about the cake. My friend, who is the mother of the birthday girl told me that she had no time to pick up a cake, so reluctantly, she ordered their cake out of convenience. When it came out, the Hello Kitty cake didn't exactly look uniform, but we were both really surprised that it actually was pretty decent! We couldn't believe how moist the cake was. - The Party - All the parties we've been to at any CEC has been the same format. I was impressed that CEC has caught on to modern technology and now have plastic cards that are loaded with the tokens electronically. Just like the challenges of teaching kids today about money and the value of the dollar, plastic cards have replaced the actual tokens, so kids just swipe and don't understand that there isn't an endless amount of "money" on it LOL. Anyway, back to the party. Upon arrival, you play, then you eat and while you eat, they play the outdated video of Chuck E and his friends. Chuck E comes out and makes an appearance, the kids continue to eat, the birthday kid gets a turn in the windy turbo booth with all the tickets and you eat cake! Before you know it, the two hours go by *insert snap* like that! - Kiddos - What I am about to write earns four stars alone. I have to give it to CEC for enforcing the marking system of both child and parent with the invisible marker and black light system upon entry. Even a lot of kid centric places like children's museums or play spaces don't do this which is a bit crazy if you think about it, so I applaud CEC for thinking about the safety of their little customers. If you are a parent, you know as well as I do that you can't keep both eyeballs on your child every second of every minute, at all times, and things can happen in a flash and although you shouldn't take your eyes off your children, it's nice to know there is a another pair of eyes watching. Needless to say, my kids had a blast and I have a feeling, we may be back.

When you have a super energetic toddler, and every weekend you have to think really hard how to…read moreburn down his/ her energy, it is troublesome.I've tried to bring my toddler to the playgrounds in local parks, but she got bored after going too many times. Then I started to think maybe she should learn how to exercise properly instead of playing regular swings or slides. This summer we had a chance to visit relatives in California. I did some search and brought my daughter to a kid's gym class where the equipments are designed for young toddlers. Apparently, my daughter loved it. After returned back Savannah, I started to search a similar place, and fortunately, I found Peds Play literally the next block from Monkey Joes Savannah. The small gym is belonged to Peds Health by Dr. Ericka Russell- Petty. I first asked Dr. Ericka whether I could take a look before taking kids in. She kindly agreed and showed me around. When I saw the equipments, I talked to myself "OMG, they look tough, I don't think my toddler is ready for them". Dr. Ericka told me kids always find what they can do and enjoy being in the gym. I went home and considered for 2 days, then a Saturday morning I decided to bring my kids to Peds Play. My toddler in the beginning was very careful looking for what she wants to play. 20 mins later, she started to move things around (thank God, because it was still early, and we were the only party in the gym, so I didn't have to worry disturbing other kids). Then almost an hour passed, my daughter played crazy in the gym and climbing the net like a monkey. In the end, I had to beg her to leave. I think Dr. Ericka was correct, you've never known what the limited is for a kid. When my daughter walked out the door and headed to the car, she told me "mummy, I am so tired, but I like it". As soon as we got home, she crushed on the couch immediately. Dr. Ericka currently arranges with different classes for Saturday afternoon. Also plans for summer camp. Although my kids are still too young for either one, I believe after they turn to 5 years old, they will be excited to join the programs. But at least for now, my toddler can have fun and burn down her energy in this kid's gym in the weekend. Additional information: Have to be 2-25 years old to participate, and must wear socks or sneakers. Age 2-12 years and under 60 inches tall is $10 for first hour then $5 for additional hour Age 13-25 years or above 60 inches tall is $12 for first hour then $6 for additional hour Come back the next day for $7 for first hour then $3 If you are interested in being members, pay $30 for 30 days Monday-Saturday 9am- 6pm, Sunday Closed You may see Peds Play door is locked during the business hours. Please walk to the office of Peds Health, the assistants will open the gym for you.

Wish I could rate it! They're closed until further notice due to Covid. Maybe they'll open again…read moresoon and I can update this review!

You still walk in and pick your "bear" from the wall on your right. You stuff your bear by pushing the foot level if you want and can add a little heart inside. The girl working the stuffing machine was very nice. You then fluff your bear with air and then pick out clothes. There are a lot more accessories and popular brands than in the past. And the prices were still very reasonable. You do t get a free cardboard box to carry your bear. You can pay $3 for one. The girl at checkout was so rude. She told us not to get birth certificates if we come back. She fought me on keeping the hangers and was just weird about everything. She also over shared. Other than that it was great. .

It is a clever concept and my kids have completely fallen for it. The birthday party was very well done. The girl who led the party was superb and so great with kids. The kids are greeted and given name tags and then they are shown the options of "bears" that they can have. For the parties, it's the basic bear or bunny, but they are still cute and cuddly and well-made. I mean, our host was gracious enough to pay for it, so no complaints here. My child loved it, of course. After the kids made their choices, they were all given the empty "bear" of choice (kinda creepy IMO, they are so limp), but it didn't seem to bother any of the kids. They all gathered around the stuffing machine and were each given a heart that they rubbed and kissed to insert inside their bear (so cute!). Then the stuffing began where the kids got to step on the pedal that stuffs their bear while the employee held the bear into place. Once they confirmed their desired level of cuddliness, the kids were allowed to choose one outfit for their bear. Goodness, it was almost like watching one of those food shows where they let the contestants loose in a grocery store and they have x amount of time to grab what they can. The poor kids had a tough time deciding but in the end, everyone seemed to be happy with their choices! We had to return a second time after the birthday party as my youngest was sad that she didn't get one and wanted a bear like her sister. Thank goodness it was National Hug Day that day and they were having a sale on the basic bear for $5. But don't you worry, we still walked out of there and dropped $30 on one bear and accessories. These bears aren't cheap, but they sure do make my kids happy. My kids drag them around the house everywhere they go! We went back last week because their daddy gave them gift cards for V-day. Every single one of our visits were all pleasant. The girls working there are so helpful and check on you often to make sure you find what you are looking for. There are so many bears and characters to choose from (Star Wars characters, unicorn, rainbow, etc) and every accessory imaginable for these furry friends. These make great gifts and if you're willing to drop some cash, a great activity for a child to experience the building of a bear from start to finish!

Tiedeman Park - Savannah Arts Academy

I love parks and green spaces, so naturally, I am always on the lookout and having kids, I'm always…read morelooking for new places to let the kids run around to change up the scenery. I can't remember how I learned about Tiedeman Park (TP), probably from some blog titled "10 Most Instagram-worthy Spots in Savannah" LOL, which probably led me down a rabbit hole of research, but I definitely added it to my list to explore. What I was most intrigued about TP is the pics I had seen of the lane of palm trees. I finally had the chance to check it out after running some errands in town. - Parking - Street parking. I parked at the extreme end of the park on Washington Ave and Atlantic Ave. The streets that run parallel to the park are narrow and seem like traffic lanes only. Didn't see any cars parked there. I suggest parking where I parked, so you can also walk the entire length of the park and back, to explore fully. - Activity / Trail Description - If you looked at the entire space in birds eye view, the green space almost looks like a yard glass. Stumpy bottom, long neck and a wide cup at the top. However, after exploring it, from looking at how the actual space is marked, TP seems to be only the wide cup at the top, if that makes sense. Not sure what the long neck area is part of or named and the stumpy bottom is Baldwin Park. For description purposes, the entrance of the park (the wide cup at the top) starts at Washington Ave and Atlantic Ave and goes all the way to the "stumpy bottom" at E 41st St and Atlantic Ave at Baldwin Park. I will call the "entrance" where I saw the park sign and also where I parked on Washington Ave and Atlantic Ave. The Savannah Arts Academy building is directly in front of it. What's really beautiful about this park is the long rows of palm trees that line the entire pathway on either side. This pathway crosses about 5 intersections, so when crossing, do so with caution because we all know how people drive! There are beautiful oak trees draped in Spanish Moss in the grassy areas and pretty large houses that face the length of the park that are nowhere near my income bracket LOL. They definitely keep the grass well maintained as the landscapers were doing exactly that during my visit. There are park benches all along the way to stop and listen to the ear piercing cicadas, although not very well shaded and probably why I was the only one crazy enough to walk in the park in this heat! - What I did - I walked the entire length and back on the paved path and I forgot to turn the Fitbit on from the beginning, but I did remember when I got to the end for the way back. It logged it at bout 0.18 miles, so that's one way to give you an idea on distance. - Heads Up - Park is pet friendly, but they must be on a leash. If you have kids, there is a gated playground at the other end of TP at Baldwin Park (the "stumpy bottom). There was a little square that was well shaded and equipped with benches throughout. If you're a history buff, there is a historical marker by the Georgia Historical Society near the "entrance" of the park of Malcolm R. Maclean who was a mayor for a short term, who lived nearby and was buried at the Bonaventure Cemetery. I'll definitely go back there in the "colder" months, LOL. Right now, the lack of shade from the scorching sun and the miserable heat makes enjoying the park very difficult, but if you like running in this heat or need to get your steps in, it's a great place to do it, while taking in the beautiful scenery. Just bring lots of water and stay hydrated!
