So, we went back to Chuck E Cheese off College Ave because we were invite back. NEVER again... we went during the week this past Wednesday, poor customer service!! The facility had an estimated number of customers 75-80 and employees 7-8. There's a lot that took place but briefly... 1. We never received a stamp to begin with because nobody was at the stand when you first enter they was stamping behind the register, so that was already too much for them and when we was leaving the lady asked for our stamp behind the register. I said you never gave us one she was like o ok! ( Umm I thought Chuck E Cheese was supposed to have a safe environment for families entering & leaving) once again same thing that I experienced last time at the facility 2. We ordered pizza never once did she tells us there was a extra cost for the cheese crust pizza & she was asking everyone & that was an extra 2.00 that were never informed as to say that will be an extra cost. The posted signage is not clear no fine print. So I had to wait 7 minutes for a refund? 3. We placed our ordered waited for 30 minutes no pizza . I went to the counter to ask how long till our pizza comes out, the manager said it will be out soon. I go back to our table our number is missing & no pizza. I go back to the manager & I said the number is missing and no pizza she said let me check, she came back o I'm sorry they thought we left... I said left our jackets & plates, cups are at the tables and said he gave to pizza away she apologized and said it will be one moment, she comes out with a pizza and walks with me to our table , I show her our table, she says I'm sorry I apologize again 4. Several games were not working or no tickets. The cleanest of this Chuck E Cheese is nasty. (see pictures) A few of our games didn't work so I found an employee who was scanning his card for his guest. 5. One of the machines we played we one a 130 tickets ran out of tickets, I went up to the counter received the run around with that and even the manager was overwhelmed and I told him they have poor customer service from the time we entered.He later apologized by giving us a extra 170 tickets This was my return visit that Chuck E Cheese asked to give them another chance. The food is great. With the membership it turns out fairly priced and it tastes great. The tables and floor are usually clean with the exception that something they do tiny construction and it either smells like paint or there is a lot of dust on the floor. However the trampoline and ninja zone they have is kind of a mess. You have to pay to enter, they give you a band and socks to show you paid. But many parents let their kids enter without paying, partly due to the fact that no where but the front does it specify that you have to pay to enter. On the actual jump/ninja zone there is a set of rules to follow before entering, and no where does it say you have to pay. It only says you can pay for slip resistant socks. So the whole area gets filled with kids of all ages who didn't pay. So I brought it up and the employees couldn't care less, they didn't do checks at all while I was there but they said they do. Also, even if they do find people who didn't pay they don't tell them anything. The girl I brought this up at the prize counter told me they're too busy to manage that area, also charged me more points for the prizes than what is listed on the sign. Overall they need to work on having stricter rules for the zones or just make it free to play, as it's not fair that some kids have to pay while other kids go in for free. They need to either train their employees to manage the zones or have more staff. read more

I've visited every one of Chuck's locations in San Diego and this one is my favorite. This location is tucked away in the College Grove plaza but well worth the visit if you have kids, nieces/nephews, or just want a bit of nostalgia. Here's why this is a good location: 1. They generally keep the machines here in good working order. Can't say the same for other places. 2. They have a good number of "ticket munchers" so you have less of a pileup and wait to exchange your tickets for prizes so you can get out and move on with your life. 3. The staff here are responsive. It may take awhile to get their attention but my experience has usually been good. read more

First I want to thank James, who was all over the place working hard & staying positive! He provided great service, was friendly as well as the rest of the staff. I've been here before for one of my children's bdays; had an amazing experience with our server who was always attentive but I have noticed some things have changed. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the food wait time but honestly, especially on a weekend, you have to stay patient & understand it's busy, just let the kids play games and the good will come around. The lines are either long or short, no controlling that. These people have a lot to deal with and are doing the best they can. More employees could help but that's all you can do is wait. I will admit, it took a while for us to get things like the kids bracelets and things I ordered extra in my package but even tho I had to ask for some of these things or wait, we got what we needed. For some they were impatient but to me, we got what we needed and it was fine. The food is good and the kids had a blast. Some of the machines need attendants going around making sure things are working, cause a few games didn't work or give tickets or were out of paper etc.. but the kids still had fun and got what they wanted. The prices are decent but I paid a lot for my party package and began to realize ways I could have saved, thankfully my attendant/server Jada was helpful with allowing me to remove extra purchases I didn't need or use. I know she was new and we ran into some oopsies but she remained positive and did great, she was sweet. Saturday is a really busy day to have a party, so we all have to remember that it's gonna be busy, slower and crazier. Still it's cheaper than the other party places, infact, it's decent in price, and had IF I would have had the party at home, I would have spent way more, I know this, that's why I had the party here instead, plus no clean up hah. I haven't been here since I was a kid. We had my daughters 6th bday party tonight and I had a great experience! The person at the front takes his job seriously. There was not one parent that walked out with a child that didn't get checked. Made me feel safe and confident that I can let my six year old walk around and know that no one could just walk out with her. Our host was Jasmine. She was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Jasmine needs to be promoted. My daughter blew out the candles before we got done with the happy bday song and 2 of the staff members were quick to light the candles again. Honestly the whole staff there was amazing. Worst experience ever. When ordering the pizza it stated it was. 10" pizza with 8 slices per pizza. When receiving my order I thought i was missing a whole pizza because I only received one box, to my surprise both pizzas fit in a box!! These were individual like pizzas and only contained 6 slices on each pizza.i payed close to $70 for this order , never again will i be ordering from here first and last time! Honestly I give this location a negative 10 star rating. Decided to take my family here for family fun night since it's been a long time going to a chucky cheese. Food was ok, the play area was full of kids who lack manners to share play time with other kids patiently waiting. So many kids running around throwing crap everywhere almost hitting families sitting and eating while their parents don't even give a crap. The kicker for us was at the end when it was time for our kids to count their tickets and get their prize. We get on line to wait for the toy prizes and I take my girls to see what they might be able to get. We were up next to be helped then some female worker who apparently hates her job and kids so much and tells the girl about to help us " No don't help them, we're closed now, it's 10pm". The girl helping us then said told her that it was fine she was gonna help finish with us, but the rude worker kept telling her not to help us. My husband was pretty pissed at this point because there was no notice about being a last call for game prizes or announcements over the intercom. Even while we were standing in line they did not inform anyone of last calls. There were other families that were wrapping up getting together to pick prizes they were getting upset too because they weren't notified as well. My husband even begged the rude worker to just please let our daughters pick quick prizes since they were patiently waiting. She just looked at my girls and said NO with a mean attitude then walked away. So my husband demanded her name and to speak to the manager because the whole time she's being rude and giving everyone attitude even her own coworkers attitude. I get the places closed at 10 but you have a bunch of family's still in the place eating and playing so you have to serve them since they were in closing. The rude worker just kept telling everyone that its 10pm everything is closed and that we had to come back the next day to get the kids prizes which this really pissed every family off. She then tried to walk away again, but my husband was still telling her that she needed to tell us her name and that we wanted to speak to a manager. She then yelled at my husband " YOU NEED TO WAIT IM GETTNG MY MANAGER". So my husband speaks to to the supervisor/manager and explains what's going on. While he is talking to her my girls are wondering what's going on and why they can't get a prize anymore. Another worker who was cleaning up the salad bar looked over us and saw what happened, she dropped what she was doing and said " don't worry, I'll help you guys out." This made my girls so happy, she scanned their cards and helped them choose their prizes. The girl who was originally helping us (not the rude one) then stepped in to help finish with us and even started helping out the other families waiting in line. The other workers that stepped in to help us, I give them up props and credit to showing what its like to give great customer service. My husband was informed by the supervisor that the rude worker had no right to do what she did to us, and they if she would have just taken care of us in the first place things would have gone faster. She even gave my girls more prized points on their cards so next time they can get better prizes. We thanked her and even told her that we didn't want or need that, all we wanted was for our girls to get their prizes. I'm sorry I get its only a job, but your getting paid to work for what they hired you for in a restaurant business. With this type of work, you're never gonna get out on time all time. If you hate it so much then get a new job that doesn't require you to interact with people or kids. read more

This location is the worst !!!! As soon as we arrived the girl greeted us and tells us the food wait was over 2 hours long!!! She went on to tell us the cook and the MANAGER WAS OUT sick! Just from hearing differ t people in line one party had been waiting over 45 mins for their party to start and no one had helped them! I was a little stoked when I heard my cousin was going to throw a party at a "Brand new" Chucky Cheese. I remember coming to these places when I was a kid, and I wanted to see how new and updated chains had in store. I was in for a surprise. From the outside, the place looks fairly clean (I suppose brand new paint and signage does that). Once I walked in, the place was fairly busy and we checked in by getting our hands stamped. When we got into the seating area, the place was FILTHY! It looks like they had 15-20 parties throughout the day and NEVER cleaned up. We arrived in the evening around 6pm. What is the management team doing with their time?? Do they even take a walk around the restaurant and see how atrocious the place is? They always say "first impressions" go along way. Well this first impression made me almost want to walk out. The upside was the nice screen they had up next to the mechanical Chucky Cheese. I'm glad they still kept one of those mechanical things around. Once the food came, it was pretty enjoyable. I ordered a the cheesy sticks, and the new buffalo chicken cheesy sticks and they were pretty average. The pizza was also as good, but I remember having better pizza when I was a kid (then again everything at a young age was good). The food was probably the only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1. Oh and not to mention the Manager that FINALLY started walking the floor around 7:30 with another supervisor and was yelling at kids like they were his own. I understand some of the kids need some adult supervision, but please have some tact when speaking with them. I wont ever be throwing a party at this location. I might come to a friend or relatives party in the future (but I will warn them ahead of time to go elsewhere if I can). After hours of my Grands watching Chuck E Cheese videos on Youtube they begged me to bring them back today so they can do the dance again. I went with the intention of making them their own video to dance to at home. After almost an hour Chuck E made his appearance. The kids all ran along behind him and then Chuck E took center stage and the music started but you couldn't hear it and Chuck E had no energy. The girl that was hosting the dance was trying but she wasn't very loud. The next thing I knew one of the guys that work there jumped up and got everyone back on track and you could tell how much he really enjoyed doing it that the kids actually seemed to be having as much fun as he was. When I took a closer look (remember I was video taping it) it seemed as if it was the same guy Alfredo that I ranted about how awesome he was on the opening day! And IT WAS. This guy just screams "I LOVE CHUCK E CHEESE". Tim the man from Corporate was there and you know me I had to go and tell them how AWESOME this man is. Tim the corporate man asked me if I enjoyed the show and then I explained the reason for us being there today. Then I advised him about the sound not working and guess what this man said to me? "Give me a few minutes and I will have them come back out and do the show for you again, we apologize that it was not working properly"! And within less then five minutes Chuck E was back out there again with Alfredo doing the dance again WITH SOUND. The employee's in this place all the way up to corporate exude excellent customer service. Get this. So, I came home to download the video on to my youtube for my grand (http://youtu.be/kGiVklnm9d8) and straight to my Yelp so share how cool this location is and I forgot Tim's name. I called the store and Nidel answered the phone. I said "Hello my name is Linda and I was at your establishment today and had a great experience" Nidel said "This is Linda from Yelp isn't it? Went here for my daughter's 3rd birthday party which started at 10 am today! Our host, Megan (I think that is her name) was great. I was busy talking to our guests for the party that I forgot her name. The appetizers came out and then the sandwiches, pizza & hot wings. Food was good. Drinks were unlimited. The even served beer for the adults. We had the table until 12 noon. Once our time was up, we had to leave. They even served cake & ice cream at the end before we left. Came here for a school fundraiser and was very impressed. Everything was great, from customer service to the timing of our food! We came last year to the same event and it was horrible! This year, you can see a big change! The lady quoted me 45 mins for my food, but it came out in 20! The salad bar was well stocked and clean, seeing how busy it was! Price for pass : $20 per hour or you just can purchase by points. Friday 09/29/17 @ 8pm whoever was working on this day/time you are the dream team for this location! This ones for you! What an upgrade! Had a party for my son back in March and the experience was horrible! Bathrooms were dirty, line to order was super long, salad bar was completely messy and both my husband and I said we weren't happy with this location at all. Fast forward 6 months later on another Friday night, we decided to suck it up and come here assuming the worse from our last experience, and was surprised at the absolute change. Line had 2 cashiers who were both fast and definitely provided good customer service. (Filipino/Asian girl with black hair and Mexican girl with long wavy hair) the food came in a timely manner event though they were busy. The manager (Mike-Bald) was very attentive to the machines, delivered our pizza and gave us the box I asked for right away. The salad bar was clean and stocked, restrooms were attended and the game floor wasn't filled with trash all over the floor. Definitely pleased with the staff of this evening. read more

Had a great experience at the chuck E cheese at the college location. Granted they were short staffed once they opened, but they handled it like true pros. We were greeted once we entered got our cards and enjoyed the games provided. The food has changed... meaning it is well worth getting vice going to an all you can eat buffet. The other families were just the greatest. We all shared rides and our kids enjoyed playing with each other. Also this is the place to go to beat the heat... you never know maybe you'll meet some cool families along the way. Kudos to the staff... they are all A-1. read more
