The buffet is clean, fresh and Varied in selection. Comparable to a mid range buffet in Vegas. The salad bar is extensive offering wide choices as well As six different dressings including low cal./ light. We went about four weeks ago for Italian night and again about 10 days later for Mexican night. The variety is great and the themed nights offer excellent selections as well. I was visiting and stumbled across this buffet and decided to stop in for dinner and check it out. It is a "self serve" style buffet, which after Covid you hardly find open anymore. Now on to the review: they had a good selection/variety of foods. Very basic buffet food. Their supposedly "fried chicken" was more like a bland oven baked. Wasn't crispy at all. Very disappointed. Mashed potatoes were instant. Green beans weren't even cooked properly and very very bland and so was the corn. Potato salad was runny and I also tried the cucumber salad, which was very very bland. No vinegar taste and no spices at all. Basically, it was sliced cucumbers in water. Yuck! The cleanliness on the buffet was disappointing as well. I didn't see any managers at all on the floor. Hostess was this young girl and didn't smile or greet me. Just told me my total and gave me my change. I only stayed 10 minutes after sampling the above mentioned bland and flavorless food and walked out. I was so disappointed in this restaurant. I won't go back ever again. Sorry!! read more

Just had to try this once in my life. Great senior lunch price. $26.60 for two with soft drinks and tax included. Deal! Lunch is from 11 to 4. I don't know where some of the one-star reviewers ate that posted outrageous prices. Maybe they didn't know where they ate. Salad bar is fresher and crispier than other buffet places in the Treasure Valley. It is constantly refreshed and there were no soggy things. Desserts are better tasting and look better than other buffets. Table service keeps the used plates and utensils from piling up. The interior is much nicer and better decorated than most buffets. Better lighting and nicer tables/chairs than other buffets. The serving area is not one long line where roadblock customers screw everything by picking thru the offerings and halt the movement of the line. We went on BBQ day (different theme each day). We found things we liked in the selection of entrees. The BBQ beans are really good. Very good dinner rolls, get them when they are hot. Ice cream station had three flavors and lots of toppings. We never felt like we were in a school cafeteria, like the other buffets make you feel. Not noisy like other buffets. Polite and well trained staff are in constant motion not on their phones. folks this is a basic buffet with reasonable pricing, consistent food, exceptional wait staff...$20 for dinner. take a look at there daily specials and assigned nights to food. Some of the food could be a bit better. I would not characterize it as a healthy take on a meal. but take your time and find healthy cuts of ham, roast beef and my favorite tRiley. of your looking for old school like your parents and grand parents had this is your place. good parking and clean facility. they have better pricing for lunch. It's a big buffet restaurant that's clean, family oriented, nicely organized and decorated, and great for families or big groups of friends. I love the color scheme and the decorations that made the place feel homey. The serving staff are friendly, polite, well trained in keeping the food trays filled up and the tables free of used plates/utensils. Their salad bar is top notched and so is their bakery and desserts sections. I'm not a big fan of their meat section. However, you get what you pay for. It's not a high end buffet so didn't expect the best cuts. They got a delicious sautéed mushroom to go with the roast beef and there's also gravy, cranberry sauce, and other sauces and stuffing. I love Chuck-O-Rama, it's a family owned Buffet with a few locations in the north west and the food is always fresh and good quality. The Chuck -O-Rama in Boise is always providing a great salad bar, homemade fried chicken with many sides and a carving station with turkey, roast, beef and ham. I got a little bit of everything including the salad, bar and items from the desert station and the food quality was very good. The service is still great with multiple attendants, constantly cleaning the tables and clearing dishes. The location is becoming a bit worn, and would be better if the location had a bit of a remodel. read more

Our waiter was spectacular and cleared away plates promptly. BUT, there were tons of flies. Everywhere. Around our table and around the food area. Cons; I couldn't find regular butter for the bread/corn, but also I didn't ask, so my bad. Seafood was way overcooked and not due to sitting out too long, it came out of the kitchen that way. A bit small dining room and congested food area. Maybe a little bit too loud inside, but that's simply a sign that they are busy and customers like the place. My wife and I, as well as our daughter and her husband and 7-year old daughter decided to have a pre-Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday evening, November 22nd, and we were all glad that we did! The food was great, as it always is, and the employees were wonderful in making sure that the food items were well-stocked and neatly presentable. Our table worker did a great job of making sure that our plates were taken care of. He was always busy and had a wonderful smile! I worked for North's Chuck Wagon, a similar Boise business in the late 70's based on quality food prepared in a "country" fashion. What a change. Recipes are terrible. Fried Chicken is limp and tasteless, apple crisp is canned apple compote poured in a pan and sprinkled with a tasteless topping, no baking at all. It's so sad that many of the hearty recipes and fresh foods have been abandoned. Instead of quality, hearty food what you get is an adult version of school lunch. Quality of the food was poor. The food is always good and the servers are always friendly and they can match you joke for joke. If you don't believe e me, then test my theory. Also, the desserts are amazingly tasty and I love the variety. They have a different themed selection of food every day. Sunday is family dinner. Monday is International fare. Tuesday is Oriental. Wednesday is Chuckwagon. Thursday is Mexican. Friday is Seafood and Saturday is Italian. Come any day and you'll leave satisfied and with a full belly. A full row of handicap parking in the front which I love and since Corinos and Fuddruckers are closed there is plenty of parking no matter what time you get here. Decided to visit this place today and I have to say I was very surprised at how nice the place was. Very clean and the staff were keeping every food option full while ensuring all dirty plates were taken away and drinks filled. The food section is a little weird having several small sections of food selections. Problem with this set up is it is like anarchy, there is no start or finish so people just kind of jump in front of you to get what they want. You have to keep an eye out for the little ones that weave in and out of this traffic like a rabbit being chased by a fox. I wish I could give this zero stars. We came here due to my son wanting a salad bar. We had never been here and it was fairly packed in the parking lot so we figured it must be good. We paid almost $50 for myself, my 10 year old son, and husband. You pay first then get to see the food.... The salad bar was a huge disappointment. They didn't even have olives on the salad bar. Most pizza places have a better salad bar. I found one thing that looked ok to eat and it was so dry that the first bite was like jerky. When my husband went back to the meat table the man cutting the meat was putting sauce over the meat to try to make it not look so dry. The mashed potatoes are soup. The pizza was cold.
