A little of everything at lunch buffet
    Dani S.

I couldn't stay away from this place. I enjoyed the veggie biriyani, butter chicken and tea so much last week that I had to come again. I dragged my daughter here for lunch today and I was excited to dig in! So in my last review, I gave this joint 5 stars. I was taken by the tea and the food but in all honesty, I wanted to give this joint a 3. I wish the service was as good as the food. The only saving grace was the new server that was serving at the end. She gave me a nice to go cup for the tea when I asked and she was really sweet. She was so lost but she tried her best! Her co worker unfortunately wasn't as kind. The same gal that was rude last week was the same gal that sat us today. No real interaction really. She filled our waters and walked off. Since we were there last week, my daughter and I knew to help ourselves to the buffet. They had different items today which is nice! They had goat and lamb options. My daughter tried them and she said they were ok. We aren't big goat and lamb eaters but it was cool that she got to try it! I did notice some veggie options so I got to try them. I love the spices mixed with the potatoes and veggies. But again, my plate was filled with the veggie biriyani, veggie pakora and butter chicken. And now that I know about the tea, i had 3 cups of them bad boys! So worth going over the fluid restriction! The food was good as last week! I'm hooked on the rice, pakora and butter chicken combo. It's a winning plate! As much as I enjoyed food, service didn't match the food. theThe female server walked by us numerous times and filled other guests water. I finally decided to fill up my own water with pitchers that they have ready for guests by the buffet station. Aiden, the other server apologized for having to fill up my water myself. I told him about the female server walking by several times and not really had interest in serving us. Aiden did check up on us. It was nice that he stepped up to the plate. He got us another basket of naan. He also offered me a sample of mango lassee if I would leave him a review with his name in it. I appreciate Aiden and his kindness. He's the only reason why I'm giving this visit 3 stars. The female server has just left a foul taste in my mouth with my last 2 visits which is so sad. I think I'm going to hold off coming to this joint for a while. As much as I love the food, I'm not to happy about the service. Do I risk being unhappy with my server and being treated like garbage over butter chicken? Nahhh I'm worth a little more than that.

This was our first visit to Bombay. I like to place great Ambience wonderful location inside the Idanha hotel. Food is typical Indian food. I wish there was more choices like fish pakora which I love they didn't have it. It was a great day, though prices have gone up too... the service was excellent as we did serve ourselves, it is a buffet after all!

OMG!! I travel around the country a lot and have had lots of Indian food. This is by far the best tasting Indian food I've had. I had the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The sauce isn't too creamy, it's a nice beautiful chunky like texture. Chef's kiss IMO.

We were so pleased upon trying this place for the first time. It is downtown Boise in an historic building and I didn't see any way for mobility-challenged visitors to get inside. They have a buffet lunch that is extremely popular. Plenty of delicious food choices, tea and Naan. We went back too many times to mention. The staff is cheerful. helpful and polite - something that is in short supply these days. We were presented with more Naan without having to ask and it is delicious. We were able to complete lunch before our 1 hour of free parking at the ParkBoi parking lot expired. That is a big plus for eating in Downtown Boise. Strongly recommend.

While many establishments in the area are shuttered on Sundays, Madhuban Indian Cuisine welcomed us with open doors and exceptional hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who seated us and took the time to explain the Punjabi-style traditions they celebrate through their menu. The Food: Tandoori Chicken: My husband opted for this classic, and it did not disappoint. Muttar Paneer: One of my personal favorites--perfectly prepared and flavorful. Naan: We both enjoyed a side of their delicious, fresh naan which tied the whole meal together. The Atmosphere & Service: While our meal was perfect, the evening provided a stark study in human character. The party of three at the table next to us--a mother, son, and daughter-in-law--seemed determined to find fault. They repeatedly berated the server regarding the spice levels of their food, despite having requested those specific levels themselves. The server remained remarkably calm and patient, even as the party made disparaging remarks about his English proficiency--a truly disconcerting display of entitlement. When the younger woman complained of the heat, the server kindly suggested a Mango Lassi to soothe the spice. She snapped back, "You said the food was not going to be spicy, so how should I trust you?" The height of irony came at the end of the night: after a meal spent complaining, the mother told the server, "Oh yes, we will come here many more times." Before we departed, we made sure to apologize to the server for the behavior of those around us. If you are in Boise and looking for authentic Indian food served with grace and patience, please reach out to the team at Madhuban. They deserve your business.

We were greeted immediately by the owner, who shook our hands, introduced himself, and instantly made us feel welcome. Like... genuinely welcome, not "hi table for two" welcome. When we were shown to our table, I noticed the raised platform where you can sit on the floor and was like, oh absolutely yes. We asked if we could sit there and suddenly we had this whole cozy room to ourselves. He even drew the curtain so it felt private and special -- chef's kiss. The food was incredible. The chicken marsala was out-of-this-world good, the naan was warm and delicious, and the kebabs were fresh with perfectly seasoned, tender meat. Everything tasted thoughtful and made with care. But the real standout? The service. Hands down. The owner kept checking in on us, making sure we were good, asking if we needed anything, joking with us -- just the right balance of attentive and chill. By the end of the night, he even shared a bit of his story and talked about where he lived in Afghanistan, which made the whole experience feel even more meaningful. We laughed, we lingered, we had the best time. If you're looking for something a little different, a little special, with incredible food and even better hospitality -- this is it. Go hungry, go curious, and don't skip the floor seating if you get the chance.

I thought - lamb and jumbo shrimp could be interesting when these guys do it. But the depth of spice wasn't there. The lamb was tougher than I commonly enjoy, but the shrimp was cooked well. It seemed like they took shortcuts on the sauce. The juxtaposition of the shrimp versus lamb, I guess I wasn't feeling it. Sampled my wife's dish and even that was flat as well. And the garlic naan pretty much had all the garlic loaded into the center one-third, resulting is harshly garlic to plain naan experience. Just a very lower level of good experience this time. I hope it doesn't make a trend. Experience hack - pre-cut the meats in the sauce ahead of putting it over rice to have greater exposure to sauce. They serve large pieces so they cook properly.

The Indian restaurant by my house serves rice with their dish but unfortunately, Spice doesn't. So, I ordered a side of rice to go with my meal and and side of butter naan. The Aloo Gobi was great! It had the perfect amount of heat. You can taste the rich tomatoe and spices in the dish. The rice was nice and fluffy! A perfect match to the Aloo Gobi. The naan was soft and chewy! You can taste the butter on top. The only downfall about my meal was the portion. The Aloo Gobi came in the same bowl as my side of rice and half full. There wasn't a lot to this meal. It's basically potatoes and cauliflower. I got a few big pieces of cauliflower but overall it lacked in volume. I don't mind paying a good amount for food but I want to make sure I'm paying for a good size meal. Overall it was an ok dining experience. My waiter was nice but very dry. Dinner was tasty but I wish I got more to my plate.
