Cronut

We live in the land of posh donuts. New York- 3 hrs away, Boston- 45 minutes. I am spoiled. ChuChi answered my desire. It hit the spot. It was ok but I know I come from the land of the posh donuts.

Cute little family owned & run shop. Fresh daily. Best cronut DSM has to offer! Haven't had a single bad donut here. OG glazed, can't go wrong. Super sweet & friendly staff! Milk & juice options. They have a bunch of original but also fun designed donuts.

These are the best donuts that I have ever had! You just try the glazed croissant and the huge apple fritter. The prices are so affordable. $3 for a huge donut, $7.50 for half dozen. The sell cronut holes for $3.25 dozen and they are delish!

I FINALLY was in town early enough to stop by and try these raved about donuts... and I don't see why people love them. The place is very lackluster on the inside, although I love the shrine. The cronut was soft and squishy and gross. Almost drippy with oil. The fruit twist had a weird fake flavor and the bear claw was just gross. My husband didn't absolutely hate them as much as I did so I'll give the place a two star vs a one star, but there are SO many better places for donuts. You could get a better donut at Hyvee over this place in my opinion. Better yet go over to Donut Hut on Douglas Ave. Their dutch crunch donuts are amazing and I've never gotten a bad donut there in all my years. Not to mention the lady working just seemed irritated we were there.

Have you ever heard of a cronut?? Because this will be the place to try one. I've seen so many good reviews about this place that I finally took the time to stop by before work. They're located a little bit south of downtown in one of the suites facing the main road. There wasn't much of a line but both of the people in front of me were ordering dozens. Which is already a good sign of their popularity. A cronut is a croissant-donut hybrid. I love croissants. And donuts. And when I took one bite I understood what all the hype was about. The employees were so nice and even though I just ordered two, they told me they had more in the back. And when I looked in my bag they also added some cronut bites, which was so so sweet of them! They knew I'd be craving more after two I guess haha. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. I love supporting local businesses and can tell you this place is definitely a community favorite.

Traditional yeast donuts near the downtown area. Tasty like we expected for a yeast rising donut. Nice assortment for your traditional donuts. Cases were nicely filled when we visited. There are NO vegan or plant based donuts here. The owner stated the donuts are made from a pre-made mix. Drink cases have tons of drinks and hot coffee drinks are served here. They have their own brewed coffee. Walking in, there is no indoor seating. Covid has caused the shop to not allow indoor seating. Workers are masked. Customer service was mediocre. The workers weren't inviting but they were nice. This shop is asian owned. We spent $5.xx for 3 donuts and a bag of donut holes. There is also a drive through window! Overall it was ok. Nice donut shop to visit if you want to support local and within 5 min driving range of downtown.

Dozen of raised and cake donuts

This was my first visit on the recommendation of a friend. The shop is pretty minimal but the variety of donuts is not! And they smell as delicious and fresh as they taste. I actually had a little moan and felt my shoulders relax as a took a bite. Does that make these donuts therapeutic? At least it could be considered self care. You deserve to try a chu chu donut!

My go-to donut spot. I live right next door and their drive thru is so convenient. They have cronuts!! I also like their blueberry cake donuts and donut holes. They are soft, delicious, and not greasy. The owners/workers there are super sweet - I went this morning to grab a donut and they put some extras in my bag. Highly recommend!

I went by myself to try the cronut and it was doughy. Great flavor and crunchy outside but too soft on the inside!

Great donut place. Got there later in the day and they still had a good variety left. Easy stop on the way to the zoo!

The cronuts here are like heaven in your mouth. They always have friendly service, too. It's dangerous to live right next door to them!

The donuts are great. That's all you need to know about the offerings. They give good directions also.

Hurts Donuts West Des Moines Remember it's not about food…read moreonly, It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. It's in a strip mall area so parking was plentiful but I could tell that it would fill up fast as it seemed to be one busy place. This is such a great business open 24/7 and has so many choices from really delicious regular style donuts donuts to Dairy free to most importantly gluten free. It's really hard to find things for kids who have a gluten intolerance or may have lots of allergies and this shop really hits a home run in offering choices. It's just so nice to get some choices for kids that have those food intolerances, so they can feel more part of a group and not be excluded. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. There are lots of classic and exotic flavors. I enjoyed the maple bacon bar , which was a yeast donut , dipped in maple glazed , topped with loads of bacon. My only suggestion, as in all good bakeries, is to come early. I am so happy to support this locally owned franchise business. They really go out of their way to give choices to all people who need choices meaning Dairy Free and gluten free as well as wonderful regular style donuts with lots of exotic icings and flavors. You could spend a good year going through all their choices , including cinnamon rolls as big as your head. It's a fun place with great ambiance for dad's families, and anyone who likes donuts.

This silly kid's joke from the 80s was no doubt the germ of an idea that built this franchise. It hints at nostalgia - a different era where kids didn't have phones and tablets in their faces around the clock and used their brains to think up stupid jokes that spread like word of mouth memes. And although the decor was cute and kitschy, it didn't really give 80s dad jokes vibes like I thought it would. There were some old movie posters but the overall theme was unclear. The donut selection is incredible though and the bakery case glorious to look at, making it hard to choose. I chose a classic pink sprinkle donut and it was great. A bit on the dry side but it was later in the afternoon so maybe not the freshest, or maybe their donuts are a bit dry as a rule. Service was fast and efficient and there's plenty of parking. Check it out for a break from the ordinary gas station donuts popular in the area.

Yes please! I don't know who put this place together but !…read more The staff 10/10 and I come every year and this is a must visit but this time they really WOWed me...one of the employees was having a birthday and the celebrated it right on the farm table with joy and love! It wasn't rehearsed it was a moment and it really put this place at a new level for me (also I realized it was "the crumb" Spanish not French ‍, ai had a laugh at myself) Food is sublime and the coffee is and well I don't have enough pockets for the sweets . See you next year

Do not be fooled by the exterior. It looks like a plain strip mall location, but on the other side…read moreof the door, you're in Paris. I've been here a few times and I really should have written a review quicker, but I can't figure out how to get the review to post 10 stars instead of five. This is easily the best bakery I've been in outside of my time in Paris. The people working there are fast, efficient and friendly...the ambience feels like something out of a Parisian boulangerie or patisserie. With that said the bakery items are absolutely fantastic. I had the rhubarb puff pastry and it was the perfect combination of crunchy, sweet, and tart. I've also had the bacon, egg and cheese, croissant...which, by the way is enormous...and while the egg cheese and bacon are perfectly well done, the croissant is the absolute star of the show. All of their croissants and puff pastries are warm, flaky, and buttery. I also purchased the French macarons for after my lunch that day and to be honest they didn't made it until 9:30am. Who can wait that long? They were crunchy, filled with delicious fillings, and had creative flavors. I can't possibly imagine going to a different bakery in Des Moines.
