I ordered the chicken and waffles. It was SO rubbery I fed 3/4 of it to my German Shepherd. Not sure if he liked it either. I also ordered the fried cheesecake which I haven't opened yet because that meal literally just disgusted me. I'm not a regular and thought I'd give it a try. I guess my quality standards are too high! For $30 I could've had AMAZING Sushi! Just wanted to upgrade my review from 1 to 3 stars ONLY because the deep fried turtle cheesecake is actually really good. I can only imagine how amazing it would be fresh off the fryer!

HUGE menu! The result though is they can't provide something as simple as a grilled cheese sandwich. There's absolutely no excuse to ever serve a grilled cheese sandwiches that looks this way. This is an act of pure laziness. The focus here seems to be HOW MUCH they can offer, instead of the QUALITY of what they can.

After the traffic and parking hassle of the one on the east side it's nice to have this location. After having more experience with cheese steak sandwiches than years past I am giving three stars. This location is just south of miller park next to dickies BBQ with plenty of parking around the building. The place is narrow and very small with a tiny dining area, the kitchen is bigger. See my pictures. The on line menu is nothing like the one I looked at so I will post pictures of the real menu. The menu is massive for a sandwich shop and the biggest I have seen for a sandwich shop. I ordered the steak cheese steak with cheese wiz. For one thing the cheese wiz was not very salty like the one I had on the east side. The sandwich is probably 11 inches long and looked great. The cheese wiz was thick and creamy. The bread was soft and fresh. The steak didn't have steak flavor at all like my favorite place has. The steak was kind of like any beef sandwich beef you get around. If you took out the cheese wiz and added an jus sauce it would taste like any regular beef sandwich. With that being said it was still a good sandwich and hit the spot. Over all the cheese steak was better than the chain sub places I have had and it does hit the spot but it's not one of the best. It is better than the other cheese steak place in Milwaukee which I will not go back to. If you want a better than average cheese wiz steak sandwich than chubbies is the place.

Took a couple bites before I noticed a dead bug on the tomato.

It's been a long time since I've posted a review, but I felt this was warranted. Staying at a relative's house with 0 food, I ordered a sandwich from Chubbys because it's been years since I've had a cheesesteak sandwich. Via doordash app, placed order at 9 45. Estimated to arrive 10 30, but didnt arrive until 10 45...I was bummed but not too upset, until I saw my sandwich. There was an insect on the top of the sandwich on a tomato slice. I used to work as a prep cook and am a pretty big stickler for food safety practices. I see fruit flies as a huge red flag that prep food is being left out/kitchen isnt clean. Disappointing, gross. The last time I ordered from this chain, my order was over 2 hours late. Giving them a second chance was a poor choice. Dont make the same mistake as me!

3 must haves to eat here; GLASSES: to read the menu that is like a friggin phone book 4 hours ; to read the menu $$$$$: expect to pay double Menu is overwhelming I just wanted 2 philly cheese steaks , I got ground beef w cheese. Erika is usually my server and does a great job so I only ask for her section after the b*tch from a previous visit. Erika is very accommodating with my recent request at duplicating a version of the St Louis Slinger which is basically hash browns topped with eggs and covered with chili, St Louis has a meat patty of sausage or beef but it's not necessarily needed in Milwaukee. Today I was getting out of my comfort zone and getting lunch for the first time that would be fried chicken which Erika says is a favorite that I was skeptical about but she was spot on. It comes with a potato side and soup of the day, I opted for cream of broccoli and mashed potatoes with gravy. The cream of broccoli soup was hot and great on a winter day. The mashed potatoes were skin on with ample gravy. Surprisingly the fried chicken was excellent but under seasoned that was moist/juicy with a light crispy coating and very good. Overall there doing something right because I keep back for almost 12 years now and had I have I known that the fried chicken was fresh cooked to order and so good I would have ordered it years ago.

Everything looked clean and the decor was nice! It did not smell damp or like there had been any water in there at all. They did a nice job renovating after that horrible storm. We were greeted warmly at the door by a nice woman and seated right away. It was warm in there even though it was cold outside. The temperature was just right! Our friends recommended the ribeye as it's their favorite so that's what we ordered. Unfortunately, they were out of the ribeye so we all got New York Strip steaks with eggs. The steaks were perfectly cooked, along with everything else. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The chef even came out to ask us how our food was and to apologize about the ribeyes being out of stock. Halfway through our meal we had to add two more people and without question our server pushed another table against ours to add space and then took their order and got their drinks and food out quickly. This was our first time at Zebb's and it was a great experience. We will be returning!

We had maybe 4 bites leftover, and no room for dessert, it was a personal victory. I'm sad I didn't get photos because I love the feel of each unique area that's here. The restaurant is bigger than you think because it's subdivided into smaller rooms. We had a group of 7 for a work event (which meant I kept my phone put away) and were in a cozy little nook in the back by ourselves, I'd never even noticed this little spot. It's a great environment with a lot of good drink options. I always opt for the Parker rolls which are tasty but again expensive for the amount you get, I typically order the trout (which until coming here I didn't realize was essentially the same as salmon). It's very good and the potato pancake is a nice touch. Over my visits I've also enjoyed trying the short rib gnocchi, butter chicken, and brussels. They also have a small party room which I have attended an event in before which is always a nice touch. It's secluded and of course much quieter than their main dining area which can get pretty loud!

I surprisingly don't have many options in my "MKE - Fish Fry" collection that are near downtown, but Swinging Door Exchange was one of them. I was pressed for time, so I placed a to go order rather than dining in. I got the combo fish fry (two pieces of cod, two pieces of perch, and three fried shrimp) with potato pancakes. I was also very easily talked into the half rack rib appetizer. The ribs were good, even though I prefer sauce that's more sweet and smokey. Their sauce was on the tangy side with a tease of spice that really only became noticeable when the majority of the half rack was gone. If I were in the mood for ribs as my main meal, I'd consider getting theirs as an entree. The two potato pancakes weren't homemade; instead, they were premade hash brown patties that some other restaurants also serve with their fish frys. These were perfectly acceptable in lieu of homemade pancakes. The cod tasted great, but the breading didn't hold up very well. Either the fish itself was too wet or the two block walk back to my car allowed for condensation to wreck it or possibly both. The perch was not yellow lake perch but probably something like pike perch. Even though both kinds of fish and the shrimp were all good sized portions, $29 feels like a lot. I wouldn't say no to it, though, if I were dining in next time and avoid the extra cost of their takeout fee. Shout-out to the bartenders working that night. The bar area was absolutely packed, but both of the ones I talked to about placing my order were friendly and helpful even with being super busy.
