The cotton candy cart was a big hit on our party. Both the adults and the kids enjoyed it. Catherine and her team did a great job!

The best Mexican food place in SCV! Super yummy food and great service. I love coming here for a…read morequick bite and comfort food. I always get a burrito with asada and shrimp along with an Arizona drink. Their green salsa is sooo good I 100% recommend giving it a try if you like a spicy kick. This time I decided to try their chilaquiles with both red and green salas and an over easy egg on top and it was soo good! My bf got a burrito bowl and it was also good I had to steal a few bites. Definitely going to be trying more dishes because everything I tried so far has been a hit.

Very disappointing experience at Mi Tierr maxican and market on Sierra Highway. I ordered a burrito…read morede asada, and it was basically all tortilla with barely any meat inside. For what you pay, that's unacceptable and feels like a complete rip-off. What made it worse was the customer service. When I brought it up, Oscar had a rude and dismissive attitude. Instead of actually listening or trying to fix the issue, he kept repeating what the burrito is "supposed" to come with--as if I don't already know that. The problem wasn't what it's supposed to have, it's what I was actually given. If you're going to cut portions, at least be upfront about it and don't treat customers like they're the problem. Between the poor quality and the attitude, I definitely won't be coming back.

As you walk in, Fire Island Grill doesn't look like it would be that great. It's hard to describe…read morewhy, but the decor has that strip-mall junk food ambience that really lowers your expectations. Fortunately, the food is surprisingly great! The bowls are fresh and tasty, with real kick to the spicy dishes, and lots of flavors in the milder dishes. The meat is really moist and tender, whether chicken, beef, or pork, and the fish is cooked to perfection. The veggies are crisp, fresh, and never overcooked. I've got to be honest: I really didn't expect much, and it was all really excellent, to where I've been back a half-dozen times, and tried different dishes. The bowls are reasonably priced, and a good lunch deal. The platters are enough for two meals (for me), which makes their higher price more tolerable. The staff is also really pleasant, and take the aloha spirit seriously. They all have a great vibe, and are upbeat and kind. Give Fire Island Grill a try if you are in the neighborhood. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I appreciate the variety here; the ability to mix and match bases, proteins and sauces. We opted for the Thai peanut sauce and had their island rice as our base. The shrimp was great- a tad spicy but still tasty. The chicken was the only thing lacking for me since it was pretty dry/chewy. A few pieces were okay, but the majority weren't the best. My hubby grabbed their shrimp tacos last weekend and those were amazing- I'd definitely come back and get those! Overall, it's a great addition to the Plum Cyn area.
