If we could have given them a .5 star we would have. There policies and practices do not look at the best interest of their customers. They have experienced a high turnover rate of adjusters which leave claims and individuals vulnerable to the idiosyncrasies of multiple thought processes which none are the same. In any case trying to get the leaders within the company to recognize the risk they put you in is like pulling teeth. They will not budge from their antiquated practices, and feel they are too big to worry about their average customers. In many cases they approve a surgery, THEN look for pre-existing conditions, which always leads to claim denial AFTER the associate believes they are covered..... The associate has to pay the medical bill, give back the WC benefit (yes after they spent it while on medical leave) AND asked to resign. Is this a company that you want to do business with? This insurance company is a joke. On 11/7/2017, their insured ran into our trailer while sitting waiting in line at the border patrol check station in Laredo Texas. It took over a month to get an adjuster to talk to us. The appraiser came out and course they only want to pay half of what it cost to fix the damage. We can not get in touch with Courtney Miller who is supposed to be the adjuster handling our claim. We called and left messages Tuesday through Friday of last week. No return calls. We ended up paying $1400 to get the trailer out of the shop since they don't want to pay down time while repairs were being made. So here is is almost three months later and still no resolution. Terrible. They have the highest premiums and pay the least amount on claims. Insurance agents seem to love this company, I can only assume it's because they get high incentives. I have USAA and never had a problem. A Chubb customer hit my car and left the scene, doing $15,000 of damage. They were such a pain to deal with, and so incredibly rude. Just filed a small claims suit because they only offered me a fraction of the loss, thinking it would be too expensive to pursue remedies. I fell fractured my foot in three separate places and my supplemental insurance was CHUBB. I called them answered all their questions and they assured me that was all the information they needed. Then I get the packet and hobble my broke foot around to everyone to fill out their part which I should have never had to do. I send that packet into CHUBB. Nothing ever happens. I call them again to see what's going on and it's like nothing has ever been documented. I ended up out of work for a while then light duty because I am a state law enforcement officer. I make very little money and i was out thousands of dollars. CHUBB never did anything and that happened in May of 2017. I still have problems with my foot. CHUBB is the worst insurance I have ever had. I dropped all my supplemental with them and have told my story everywhere. Take your money and save it you will get more back than CHUBB will ever pay. I am also amazed at all the poor reviews. I don't understand why these customers would not be going through their insurance agent. Chubb always refers clients to their agent. They don't deal directly with clients. My insurance agent raves about Chubb and how the agents love dealing with them. She says they are far above the rest. I had a hard time finding an agent; they are not on every corner. My agent is an hours drive from me. I have had Chubb homeowners insurance for 30 years, and some of my family members over 40 years. They are a bit exclusive. They don't take everybody. Payment remitted online is free, easy and accurate. For auto insurance they are more expensive than say, cut rate ones that advertise on TV, but they were the same price as Safeco (owned by Liberty Mutual here in the Northwest), but offered better coverage. Chubb has just recently gotten into the auto coverage policies. They are a true no hassle company. You can decide on a value for your vehicle when you get the policy. That is the value for a claim-no arguing about value after the fact. Very helpful for classic cars, or a car with a lot of chrome and extras. I don't know anything about this particular agent, but the complaints seem to be for Chubb directly. Seems strange. Someone wrote me wanting to know if I was an employee of Chubb! No I am not. Chubbs has been the worst insurance I have ever dealt with AND if you ever get hit by anyone from Chubbs Insurance please do the following: 1. Call the COPS - No matter how nice they are, call them and make them come to the scene of the accident to write the police report. 2. Make sure you get all the driver's information, vehicle that hit you (plate, vin and what type of car) and copy of insurance card to prove they are even insured with this company. - If they don't have insurance card with them, tell the Police Officer. 3. Take tons of pictures 4. Last but not least, don't be nice - Chubbs won't so don't feel bad if you aren't nice. Their Customer Service doesn't even know what they are doing, you get different answers every day. Most of the reps there have been rude and unwilling to help if you have to file a claim against their client. When I called in and informed them of the situation, they told me that the person that hit me wasn't even insured with Chubbs, I had 2 representatives that told me that AND a supervisor telling me that driver wasn't insured with them. They informed that they had the parents, but not the driver. The next day, the adjuster called me and said that the driver was insured, when I asked about why I was informed driver not insured, the Adjuster got angry and didn't want me to ask her anymore questions about it. Which makes me believe something fishy about this insurance company - did they add him retroactively after he had the accident? Currently still dealing with them and they STILL will not pay for the full damages to my car or get me a rental at the time being. I was in the middle of moving out of the apartment that was insured but still needed coverage for about 45 days. Trying to get someone who knew anything about my policy was a nightmare. I am an insurance adjuster and I have been trying to file a claim for a MONTH on behalf of my insured. I have NEVER had such rude and unprofessional services, or lack thereof, rather. I have been hung up on numerous times, without even having a chance to speak. The person who picks up just says "Chubb." Unprofessional, much? The 3 times I was able to get transferred to the area I needed, this was my experience. Twice, the person on the other line said "Hello?..." I begin to speak then after about 5 seconds they say again "Hello?" then immediately hang up on me! The third time a man picked up and said very quickly "We are having technical difficulties call tomorrow after 9" and hung up without even giving me a chance to speak! Here I am 3 months later and sure enough the medical coverage has been totally screwed by Chubb. We have received bills for over $2000 from 3 different entities. Each either specified on the bill that a bill had been sent to Chubb or confirmed by phone that a bill had been sent to Chubb. All bills had been sent to Chubb within 30 days of the incident. We continue to receive notices of failure to pay. We called Chubb. And we were told that they do not pay medical bills! They wait until ALL the bills come in, decide if & how much they are going to pay and then send US a check for what they decide to cover and then we are responsible for paying the medical folks. I have re-read every piece of paper from the company and there is NOTHING that describes this process. If I had known that this was the protocol I would have been on them from day one to make sure that these bills got paid. We are now 2-3 months in arrears in these bills and this is not how my husband and I manage our finances. Chubb suggested that perhaps we did not understand what we were told the first time. I have a Ph.D. and my husband has an MFA. We rarely misunderstand information. In fact we have a practice of summarizing what we are told to the person on the phone, confirming that our summary is accurate, and writing down our summaries when we have these sort of fraught phone encounters. Chubb also suggested that we bill Medicare or our own auto insurance for the medical bills. Yeah, that's a valid and workable solution (not). I'm absolutely disgusted and thoroughly discouraged that we are STILL dealing with this nonsense. read more

Our employer switched over to this insurance company and it has been horrible. I have a co-worker that filed a claim about two weeks ago, she called today and they have no idea when the claim will be completed, it still says pending. I filed a claim on this past Tuesday, received a email Tuesday evening saying that I will have a claim number within 24 hours, it's Friday and I still don't have a claim number. I called and the rep said maybe within a couple of days. We haven't even received our paper policy after signing up with the company in November 2018! The policy online is not complete and I've requested a completed accurate policy since the beginning of January and haven't received it yet. The don't offer direct deposit and you have to fax your claim in if your claim exceeds 4 pages! The claim form itself is over 4 pages. Hail damage to my house a year and a half ago. Chubb's adjuster estimated the damage at less than $30,000. I hired an insurance adjuster consultant. A year and a half later Chubb has paid out close to $300,000 and we believe they owe an additional $200,000 plus. We're still waiting to start repairs until the painful process is completed. I see that most of these negative reviews are from people who have other carriers who are not satisfied with Chubb. As a Chubb policy holder, I have nothing but good things to say. Several years ago when we had a 100-year flood in Boulder, CO, I called mitigation companies who told me they'd get back to me in two to three weeks. I then called Chubb and they had a mitigation team at my home within two hours. They flew in extra adjusters from other parts of the country and an adjuster from Alabama was at my home within three days. He was clearly looking for ways to help and cover; he was not looking for ways to deny my claim. Every home in my cul-de-sac was flooded and only two of us received coverage - the two of us who had Chubb insurance. Payment was made by square footage and zip code. When I asked the adjuster if I should submit receipts or proof of work, he said "no." I received a significant check within a week that more than covered my damages. I also live in an area that could be susceptible to wild fires. Chubb's Wildfire Defense Services give valuable peace of mind. A couple years ago, my neighbors and I were in "pre-evacuation" mode with cars packed as a wildfire had started in the foothills. Luckily the fire was contained and we never had to leave the home. The Chubb mitigation team arrive, however, was poised and ready to "slime" and do everything possible to save my home. If I were to lose my home for any reason, CHUBB will do a full policy payout if I choose not to rebuild. Not offered in many/most policies. Additionally, CHUBB has a pre-agreed price for car replacement should my car ever be totaled. The agreed upon pricing is approximately four times higher than Blue Book. Hopefully, I will never need this perk but it's nice to know it's there. My premiums are slightly higher than the competition, but for value received, I think premiums are spot on. Check out itemization on Nerd Wallet and other legitimate sources and then decide for yourself. I did extensive research before choosing CHUBB and all legitimate review roads lead me to them. I have an agent who is accommodating and answers any and all question whenever I call, which is seldom. Although his office is in Boulder, I have never even met him. I have had a terrible experience after buying home insurance in Tucson, Az. through Chubb. They promised me an annual premium of $1800. and I made two substantial payments, more than was owed on the policy. I received a letter fro Chubb stating that my rate Doubled to $3500. just because my alarm system wasn't being monitored. When I cancelled the policy, as a result of this excessive overcharge, they refused to rebate my overpayment on a prorated basis. They say I need to pay the $3500 rate, even though they didn't contact me for more than a month after the overcharge. I thought Chubb was a top quality insurance company, but the truth is... they over charged me, and took a "tough luck" attitude about returning my refund, when I cancelled the policy. I am amazed by the poor reviews. I have CHUBB insurance on my house and its contents. A termite contractor burned down my house after working in the attic. CHUBB jumped into action even before the firefighters left. My adjuster and all their recommended contractors have been fabulous. Nightmare and a bunch of liars! Their client totalled our car and their customer admitted error. How long did it take to get a check? a month and a half and counting because we still don't have one. The representative, Krystal Rose, is a liar. She informed us that once the title was received, she would overnight a check. I confirmed their receipt of the title but still no check. They already picked up the totalled vehicle as well. Once confronted about a rental car, she denied ever stating she would send a check overnight but that it was in the mail and claims to have never received e-mails or voicemails from me. My last call attempt, a customer service representative took my information and stated she refused to take my call. She also said since a check was mailed, they would not pay for a rental car even though no one can produce a tracking number. To top it off, the customer service of this branch is so below par there isn't a grade for it. Read the other reviews, there is a serious problem. Run, do not walk away from this company. read more

I am amazed at the other posts about this company. In the last six months, I have had two sets of dealings with Chubb and its agent from Hub International, Robin Schregger, that were seamless and totally delightful, given the problems. The first the repair of my car after it hit a deer, and the second was when my car was stolen. The repair was conducted seamlessly with a good loner in the meantime and the same was true about the stolen car. In each case, everybody from the company was warm, friendly and helpful. If I didn't get somebody when I called, that person always responded to my voice mail message. Payments were made without fuss of feathers. As an agent, Robin was a wonderful supplementary, explaining to me what I could expect and what to do. In the basis of those experiences, I have been recommending Chubb to all my friends and acquaintances. It costs a little more, but there is no way an insurance experience could be better. read more

I have contacted Liz Holling who then referred me to Sean Connelly for my claim #77188214. The vehicle I was driving was rear ended by their insured who accepted responsibility at the scene. Mr. Connelly has acknowledged receiving my very reasonable claim and has not given me the curtesy of a phone call or an email despite my numerous attempts to contact him. ALL of the information Mr. Connelly requested was provided in JANUARY and other than him acknowledging he has received it there has been absolutely nothing happening and zero communication! There is not a more unprofessional way to handle a claim than Chubb Insurance apparent policy of ignoring it completely. Most frustrating claims process I have ever encountered. All claims calls are forwarded to an answering service that will only state that they will have a rep call the insured back as soon as one is available. Under no circumstances can you speak to a rep when you call. This does not mean within a few hours or even the same day. It actually means there will be no return call and you have wasted your time. 1-star rating is too high for Chubb Insurance. I've got to wonder if their claims adjudicators et a bonus for every claim the refuse. My employer carried a medical evacuation policy with Chubb/ Europe Travel Assistance. Their customer service people were helpful, took lots of info and sounded like they were making the arrangements to move my very ill husband from China back to the USA. Then the Chubb Insurance rep denied our coverage, saying their policy was limited to persons who were abroad less than 365 days. When I proved by my contract that I have been abroad less time than that, the claims adjudicator said then we would be eligible. Getting no movement for days, I called her back, to be told our coverage was denied again, due to a clause that "ex-patriates" were not insured, plus they were investigating if the evacuation were medically necessary or just our preference. The Chubb/ Europe Travel Assistance side said in the first day of our application that it was medically necessary. They were clearly determined not to honor their medical evacuation policy. Left us in hospital in China a whole week, waiting for their services. Finally gave up and used another company that thankfully my company also subscribes to. It's a scam--if you want real medevac coverage, don't use this company. A really disgusting experience--seems they make their money off of human suffering. read more

My parents bought this health insurance on the marketplace. They have held this policy for over 1 year. My stepmother had chest pain and we have to take her to the hospital. She was there for one week. She was diagnosed with Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. We got a letter in the mail today stating that this insurance will cover nothing because she has pre-existing conditions. The doctor and the hospital said that the conditions are completely unrelated. 5 years ago she had an ablation. Every single time she's gone to the doctor they've covered nothing. My parents have paid over $15,000 in medical bills this year alone just from regular doctor visits and standard tests. This insurance is the worst I've ever seen. They've probably paid less than 10% of her bills overall and she pays over $500 a month for this policy. She's way in the hole from this insurance. It's garbage. I would never recommend this insurance to anyone. Because of this insurance everything that my parents have worked all of their lives for will end up going to medical bills. If you have the misfortune of being hit by one of their clients, GET AN ATTORNEY IMMEDIATELY!! We made the mistake of telling the adjuster that was not the route we wanted to take. We just wanted to be reimbursed for what their client cost us. We should have known from the beginning when the adjuster called us and asked if we knew how to get in touch with their client that it would not be as easy as it should have been. Yes, she called us wanting to know if we knew how to contact her client. She then told us that since she couldn't get in touch with them that we should file through our insurance company. Her client ran through a red light, totaled our truck, and severely damaged our new custom built cargo trailer. The first responders stated that they have been to enough of those type of incidents that they could clearly tell she was playing with her phone when this happened. This incident happened in Florida. We are self employed based out of Texas. We had just finished loading that trailer full and was on our way back to distribute our products. In a flash, due to the negligence of their client, my husband was stranded 1100 miles away from home. They did not feel as though they should be responsible for reimbursing us for a place to stay while he was stranded no longer with a way to go or for the cost of fuel to get to Florida to get my husband and get him back to Texas. After going back and forth with receipts, they finally sent a check. It didn't come to the correct address so it went back to them. The check was for a third of the amount of receipts we sent them. After a little more discussion, another check was sent out that was for a LITTLE more than the first. At this time 6 months from the time of the accident had already passed. Because we used our insurance company we had to come up with the deductible up front. Whatever our insurance didn't cover for us we had to pay out of pocket immediately. Mind you we have wonderful insurance to cover someone else because we have a commercial policy. As far as what it covers on us isn't near as great. Anyway, we had no choice but to accept that check because we were at the point to where all we had set aside was gone and we were about to be in a really bad situation. There was a memo on the check that they were waiting on some paperwork to reimburse for income loss. We finally get our sales figured to see how much being down due to their clients negligence and the run around has started again. We are 3 weeks away from a year since this happened. Needless to say, after the response we received today, we are going to have to go speak to an attorney ourselves. Not to mention that on top of everything our truck payment is now $300.00 more a month than it was with our last identical truck!! read more

I am an Uber/Lyft driver and I can't just drive any car, yet they think it's okay to comp cars that are of a lower quality than mine so they can rip me off. Chubb is willing to pay my insurances deductible of over $1,000 if I decide to go with mine, but if I stay with Chubb's claim, they're not willing to tack on an extra $400 to pay my sales tax. Just because it's not required they pay sales tax in Texas, doesn't mean it's okay that they don't. I wasn't planning on buying a new car any time soon and I shouldn't have to fork out the sales tax from my own pocket to cover it for a new car since the accident was not my fault. TOTAL SCAM.
