I got traditional braces in my mid 20s. If you're debating, then this is your sign to go for it. Originally, I thought I would only had them on for a year and a half but it took around 3 years (10/2021-10/2024). We didn't remove the braces until both doctor Chris and I are happy with the results. My teeth journey took a bit longer until end of 2025 because I needed more work done. I got a bone graft and tooth implant at a different DDS location and the doctor there also complimented my straight teeth and bite. I just want to start by saying that Dr. Christopher did an incredible job fixing my underbite without any surgery! The entire process was gentle, and I experienced little to no pain throughout. Many, many thanks to Dr. Christopher Nguyen. My teeth were pretty crooked, more than I had realized (I guess never paid that close attention until I got braces), but they were straightened with traditional metal braces in 2.5 years. He definitely knows what he's doing, and the staff there are also really knowledgeable and friendly. My only complaint is that sometimes communication is not always totally clear, and I have to be extra proactive to ask questions for clarity, or like, there were a couple appointments where I didn't actually have to go. So definitely don't be shy and just voice any concerns. For example, I could feel a large gap between two teeth at one point, and I just assumed it was okay until I finally mentioned it one day and he said to not hesitate to tell him stuff like that. So yeah, communication could be a bit better but also don't be shy like me lol read more

The doctor was dismissive of my concern. I asked him a question about my bite and instead of answering my question, he told me that he couldn't make me look like a goddess. Sometimes, I would have questions but I wouldn't be able to ask them because he would rush. He was also pushy about wanting to cut my gums. After I told him very clearly that I didn't want that, he repeatedly asked me why and told me that it would be prettier even though I repeatedly told him that I didn't want that. The doctor told my parent about how he wanted to cut my gums and what the cost would be, even though I was already an adult at that time. I was the patient, my parent was not the patient, and I was also an adult, so he should not have discussed this with my parent. Additionally, there was a gap between two of my teeth, and one of the employees there pulled those two teeth together within a couple seconds rather than letting the gap between my teeth gradually close. I am not sure if this is normal practice or not, but it was very painful, and I wasn't aware that she was going to pull my teeth together like that. When I told my dentist about this, my dentist was very shocked. read more

I had my teeth messed up by previous orthodontist, so I decided to go to another orthodontist. I found Dr. Christopher on Yelp but later found out my friends went to him too, and they all had pretty smile afterwards. He gave me an Herbst Appliance, which is the suitable technique for my jaw instead of an overbite treatment like my previous doctor. I wish I went to him before then I didn't have my 4 teeth removed. After 3 years with him, today is the day I took off my braces, and I'm very happy with the result. All the brace adjustment visits I came to the clinic were almost painless, and the technicians were all nice and attentive. I'm glad I came to him and I will recommend him to anyone. I have a class 3 underbite and was looking for a ortho that could take on my case without surgery. I visited about 8 different ortho's throughout OC and all said I needed surgery. I went to Dr. Nguyen and he didn't make any promises, however he did say there was a good chance he can do it without surgery. He said the whole process would take about 2-3 years and gave me the cost. I was surprised how low it came into considering how long it would take. Fast Forward 18 months later, my underbite is fixed and I completed my case it about half the time that was quoted.
