Update after several years: I'm so glad I found this salon when I did and gave it another chance. I would've never met Ly! She still cuts my hair every other month. I always get complimented on my haircuts and asked where I get them. I recommend her to anybody. She's not the type to shut down your hair ideas, but instead she gives constructive criticism or suggestions to make the idea better fit for your frame of face. Worst highlight experience of my life!! My hair has orangey blonde leopard spots. Linda(not sure her name)knew there was a problem tried to act like she didn't understand when I questioned her about the big spot on top of my head. She finally conceded it should be fixed, she and Christine examined my hair, and tried to fix one spot. She styled my hair deliberately to hide the other spots which I found when I got home. They KNEW my hair was messed up and did not care. When I was paying the bill I was told $190.00. When I asked for the breakdown she goes "oh I make mistake it's really $170.00" Now it's the next day and I section my hair to blow dry and find more "spots". Again , she knew, she hid it. If she would have just explained there was some leakage etc and would need to fix it, I would have understood! Shameful!!! read more

I walked in today around 3:15 pm on a Monday. Linda was just sitting there and was able to take me. I'm assuming the other lady with crazy clips and foils in her hair working on a boy is Ly. Linda gave me a shampoo where water droplets just kept flying all over my face. She wrapped the smallest towel she could find on my long hair which resulted me into getting a wet back. The cut felt so rushed that some sides were not even and she accidentally took off a chunk making my short layers that frame my face seem more like a straight cut. I definitely did not get the treatment everyone else I read about got. Although she showed me how to style my bangs with a hairdryer and a round brush (the brush had so much hair stuck to it from previous customers YUCK!), when it came to drying the rest of my hair she said "I'll blow til it doesn't drip." That's how rushed it was. As I was leaving I saw a lady sitting and waiting and I'm certain that's why Linda rushed. Even so, that's not how you keep customers... I even made note that I was a first time customer when she was shampooing me. I walked out like a wet dog with my hair sweating from the humid heat. Worst haircut I've had since I was a little girl. Thank goodness I didn't listen to her and get the straight across bangs. I can't imagine how horrible those would have turned out. The stars are for location and the lack of wait else, it really didn't deserve any. read more

My wife has her hair done here as well and loves it. The best way I can describe it is that it resembles a sculpture by Da Vinci. The prices are so reasonable. The atmosphere is great and i take my entire family there. If you're looking for a real fancy hair do for Pram or wedding I would definitely recommend this place. read more

It's a shame I am putting three stars because the stylist didn't do a terrible job. The color came out wonderful. However, the stylist Maria, took advantage of me. I specifically asked her for NO style. Just hair color root touch up and that's it. After she was done coloring my hair and she washed it, she told me she wanted to dry my hair to see how the root color turned out. If only I knew what the outcome would be.... When I checked out, she charged me TWENTY FIVE dollars for just blow drying my hair for a total of 5 minutes with no flat iron, nothing. Just slapped some oil to the ends. After she said she was just blow drying my hair to see the color. I am very disappointed in the poor customer service. She told me I had to pay the twenty five because she blow dried my entire head and added oil to the ends and that's considered "styling" Instead of not charging me, she said all she could do was take five dollars off. So I paid 20 dollars for "I'm drying your hair to see the color blow dry" for five minutes after I specifically asked for it not to be blow dried in the first place. I have never been so furious leaving the salon because I went in there knowing what I wanted and left with paying extra money for something I didn't even want. (Even though it wasn't even styled) I was just charged twenty dollars for a FIVE minute blow dry. (I'm not even exaggerating when I say it was a total of five minutes) read more

I was referred to Christines by some work friends, as I was new to the area and needed a good hairdresser after a terrible experience at d'elegance. I don't have a specific lady I go to at Christines, but I've been coming here for the passed 3 years, and every time, I can walk in & whoever is available, always cuts my hair exactly how I want it. What's even better, is they do not charge you extra to style your hair. They will take the time to blow dry & flat iron your hair how you like it. Prices are very reasonable too. You can't beat the price and how clean it is at this salon! I scheduled a haircut with Ly, and I'm really happy with the results. She listened to what I wanted and provided me insight on how it could be achievable. She cut about two inches off my hair (exactly what I asked for) and gave me some layers to add texture. BEWARE! This salon totally ruined my niece's hair. She went in for highlights and came out with totally platinum hair that is so over processed another stylist said she can't even try to fix the color for 3 months. I've been a client at Christine Expo for about two and a half years. I always had a three cut rule when finding a new place to go. Often the first cut would be "WOW" the second would be 'Eh, it's okay" and the third was "Did they even try?". At Christine Expo I'm still in the WOW stage every time Christine cuts my hair. It's been at least 10 cuts now. She is very precise and detailed in her cuts, but still manages to wash, cut and style my med-long hair in about 45 minutes. She is great about being on time, and calling if a previous client has set her back at all. I really appreciate that!! I now take my sons to her as well, and they really like the cuts. Horrible experience. My husband took one of our daughters in for a cut. She asked for 3 inches to be cut, they cut 6. On top of that it was totally crooked. When my daughter was at the sink having her hair washed the lady actually grabbed all her hair and cut it. Crazy! No wonder she had to cut so much off and it was still crooked. I went there for short hair cut thanks to the yelp reviewers and I am delighted. My hair is tick and heavy I have always had it longer since I couldn't find decent hair stylist who would cut it right. I went to see Annie and she did terrific job. I showed her a picture of a bob cut that I would like to get. She did that exactly to the cut . Great professional lady. If you there for a chit chat, pamper and good time with a bunch of friends you may choose some more expensive Katy salons which would do just that for you. Wow-y. I chose this salon because of the yelp reviews and location. Ly did a fabulous job. This was only the second time I was fully satisfied after walking out from a haircut. And she spent lot of time massaging my scalp while she shampooed. I have a little longer than shoulder length hair and it was $40. I typically get my hair cut at various places in Bellaire. This time I was just a little too lazy and wanted to find a place not too far from the house. The salon itself is pretty hidden. I would have never known the strip center even existed had it not been for Yelp. It's behind Panda Express and a bank. So made an appointment on the phone for a Friday. Came in about 10 min early, and I was immediately taken in by Ly. Got the shampoo, style, and wash for $40. It's a little more than I usually spend in Bellaire, but hey, it's the burbs, and you don't see too many Vietnamese salons out in Katy. Overall Ly did a great job. Very nice and personable. She gave me tips on how to do my hair. I like that not a million people are working on your hair. One on one attention and not too gossipy like other salons. read more

I went in today just for a simple cut, and then decided to get highlights. Linda was wonderful in listening to what I wanted, and also did a great job with my cut. My hair has more body, but she did not take too much off my length. Overall I am very pleased with her service and will go back when my hair is due for a trim. She charged $40 for washing my hair and cutting it, and an additional $70 for highlights. Both I think is reasonably priced! I recommend people to check this place out. read more

So pleased with my experience! I went in on a Saturday morning and was in a chair almost immediately. I showed the woman (don't remember her name!) a picture and she said okay and then got started! I have very thick hair and most people have a hard time with it. She had no problem at all and was done in a short amount of time. And my hair looked great! My husband loved it, too. I've been looking for a good salon since moving to Katy last July. When I left Christine Expo Salon, I knew I found it. I decided to try the salon because of the previous reviews here and because of the price. I have long hair and the cut was only $40. I also got my brows waxed for $8. In the 45 minutes I was in the salon, I couldn't have asked for better service. First, when Linda was washing my hair, she let the condition sit while she waxed my brows, leaving me with super soft hair. It was very thoughtful. She did a great job on my brows, and I was hesitant due to the previous review. My experience was that Linda used hot waxed, shaped the brows, and plucked any stray hairs. After, she made sure to put cold compresses on my brows while she rinsed my hair and put some sort of soothing lotion on them. The redness was gone in an hour. I gave Linda very few instructions--keep it long, but cut off the split ends and add layers. I figured if it went wrong, it would grow out in a few months. However, she gave me a great cut. She was quick, but thorough. After she finished cutting, she asked me if I wanted my hair straight or curly. I said curly, figuring she would do that with the blow dry and round brush. After blow drying my hair, Linda used the curling iron to give me big soft curls--no extra charge. I was simply floored by the quality of service and cut I received. I would absolutely recommend going to this salon. Linda was awesome, but I also was able to observe the other ladies at work--beautiful results and very thorough in consultations. Not wanting to go to Visible Changes at 4:30 and get stuck in traffic, I googled "best hair salon in Katy". Yelp reviews were all good on this salon resulting in a call for appt. Christine listens carefully to your request and delivers an excellent cut. I've paid $65 to $80 at Visible Changes for a precision cut but I never will again. More than half the the price and as good or better than the "master cutters" at VC. Highly recommend Christine. read more

I took a chance on this place based on the 4/5 star reviews, convenience, and the decent (not great) prices for little kid cuts - $12 boys $15 girls (+ whatever costs I'll incur for getting the haircuts fixed), but I now know better and will not be back. This place has no fixed pricing policy. The prices are not displayed and they seem to vary their prices. They charged anywhere from 8-10 bucks for kids haircuts. I have been charged 12 bucks. I will be finding other places that charge a fixed price. To be fair, I had no problems with Service, even though it was a bit hurried. read more

I come here usually once a month and haven't been to a different salon for 3 years now! Christine Expo Salon has very affordable prices and amazing service! All of the stylists will listen to what you want and will exceed your expectations. I have NEVER been disappointed by this salon and my hair is always healthier when I leave. The stylists are very good at making small talk if you want to and respect your wishes if you just want to sit quietly and relax as you get your hair done. A good business losing touch over time and sadly clients will follow: I truly hate to leave this review since I and my wife have been customers of Christine's for 4+ years, but it's a disservice to a good business like Christine's if you don't try to help with feedback. Same easy man cut, wash and condition I've been getting every month for 4+ years with exception of new young lady who soaked my shirt and pants with cold water from knees to shoulders during shampoo. I had to towel off afterwards. I told her the water was freezing and too high when she started, but apparently no concern because she proceeded anyway. After shampoo I told her to stop and forget conditioning since my clothes were soaked. She stopped. At the counter I tried to explain yet was dismissed due to either language or simply not caring cause four others where awaiting their cut. So what right? So what if Christine loses my monthly $18 plus tip for a man's cut. That's the way this customer felt. I know you don't need the wife's $120 dollars a month either. If you don't repair your customer service issues, historical economics says there are more customers like my wife and I who will share there "humorous experience at Christine's" on every website, at every dinner and gathering we attend in the Katy area....but who cares right? read more
