The lettering was in all caps, I presume based on some stencil, and sloppily painted. There was a gap in between the tiers. The border was nothing like the picture. When I expressed my disappointment, I was told my expectations of this cake matching the picture I asked for were unrealistic. What is unrealistic is charging $200 for a cake that looks like I made it myself. When I asked her to remove the lettering and fix the gap, she refused and refunded me, leaving me without a cake at 9pm the night before my son's christening.

There's just a great selection of stuff here that makes you curious as to what they'll have each time you enter. Beyond the baked goods, I will say the staff has been super friendly. Both visits they were helpful, gave suggestions, and (though it was close to closing) offered us some rolls free of charge. It doesn't take a lot to make you feel welcome and they do more than that which is nice to see. Perhaps you won't see what is nothing more than a few tables inside this small spot that you can sit at, but I wouldn't say this is a horrible turnoff. Yeah, maybe Dortoni isn't your bakery/cafe that's going to be a place you stay and enjoy your goods, but it's definitely worth some items to-go. Overall, Dortoni in Port Jeff earns a visit. There are other locations (perhaps even one closer to me) that I might have to check out, but even if I do, I'll at least know that the quality and service in PJ is top notch.
