I came across J&L, left a message, Joey called me back seconds later and I told him that I had to get my rear brakes done, pads and rotors. Joey's estimate blew the Subaru quote out of the water, he was available and gave me a reasonable window on finishing the job on the same day, so I decided to give him a shot. He actually ended up finishing ahead of schedule and everything turned out great! I actually was able to honor an appointment which I was very close to cancelling as I called on short notice but couldn't put off the repair. Joey and his son are honest mechanics who charge fair prices and do a great job with a quick turnaround. I recommend him to everyone. I will use him again and again.

So today was one of those days where I appreciate my small town mechanic. (Vulc Tech in Hudson, NH)…read more I had some expensive work done about two weeks ago which included a State Inspection. Well in the process of getting all the labor and work completed they forgot to change the sticker on my windshield. When my wife got pulled over today and tried to explain to the cop that the car was in fact inspected but they failed to put the sticker on the car, she still got the ticket. I went to my mechanic and told them the situation to which they apologized and agreed to take care of it right away. They finished in about 10 minutes and when giving me my keys back they also ave me a $50 Visa gift card for the inconvenience and an assurance that if the police didn't remove the ticket (as the very nice op said they would do) Vulc Tech would pay for that too. I love small business! See is why I've have been and will stay loyal to Vulc Tech. They've always provided great service and top notch expertise.

I never heard of R K Auto Repair until just recently from a friend. After doing some Google reviews…read moreand Yelp reviews, I decided to go down there with 2 issues with my 2006 Saturn Vue. The first problem I had was a broken door latch on the drivers side door and the other problem was a temp thermostat sensor made the check engine light come on. After going to numerous places before going to R K Auto Repair, I was fed up that the price just to fix the door was going to be astronomically high. After showing up at R K Auto Repair, I was met by Brian. I explained thoroughly what the 2 issues I was having and right way gave me some options and pricing. He called a few places to find a used door latch so I would not have to pay for a brand new one. I was able to find a place on my own and informed Brian about this. Within a day, he had the part from a used salvage place and now I could finally be able to open my drivers side door after 2 months of climbing in thru the back seat to get to the drivers seat. After all said and done it took about 3 hours and when I got the bill it was actually lower than the quoted price. That was good news to me. I am writing this in my own words and from a customers experience, and the way I was treated by R K Auto Repair left me with a feeling that from now on, I will be giving my business to this well organized and HONEST people. I thank Brian and the staff for taking care of me and feeling like just a number. They listened to my problem and fixed right the first time. Thats the way it should be..

My review to Zaks auto:…read more I brought my vehicle to this shop for an oil change, brake fluid flush, and other maintenance before a Porsche Club of America (PCA) track event. They also performed their complimentary PCA tech inspection, which is advertised as a thorough inspection. I specifically asked that all vehicle fluids be inspected before the event. During the track day, my car suffered a power steering failure that left me stranded. I had to call my regular mechanic to the track to repair the car so I could get it home, resulting in a significant repair bill and a lost track day. They offered no support or reparations. When I first contacted the shop, their response was simply, "You brought the vehicle to a track. We aren't liable." It was only after multiple phone calls that they acknowledged the power steering fluid had appeared discolored while the car was in their shop all day, but they never communicated that to me. I understand that track cars can fail. My issue isn't the failure--it's the lack of communication. I specifically asked for the fluids to be inspected, and the shop later admitted they noticed discolored power steering fluid but chose not to mention it. Had they done so, I would have serviced the system before the event. I've included photos of the power steering fluid taken after the failure and during the repair. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop if you're relying on them to prepare your car for a track event.

He cursed at the sound to himself under his breath, this set the tone for who I knew I was working with. Door totally functional, I had not greased it recently. He miss judged front marker light, he thought there was a bulb behind it and there was not. Top of rear wheels had minor rust. Trailer hitch not allowed. Failed inspection. Totally agree that we need to live by the States rules no argument. But the number of photos and videos he uploaded to the state are EXCESSIVE showing his true character & values. The following is not my comment but rather from a follow up inspection station I took vehicle to. That the failure was excessively done. Rudy's Station narrated / spoke through the videos, clearly a cya and embarrassing for Rudy's Fuel & Auto Service. At the follow up station I took it to, I explained no front marker light, reviewed trailer hitch and I did cover the very minor rust. My point with all this is do not trust the underlying values & character even after receiving good will. Cursing at the sound of the door spoke volumes. If the state can observe them on camera, you can be part of the process too. Rudy's forces you to go sit on a bench on other side of bldg so you can not approach it as a team.
