I'm getting ready to replace my battery, and I do a lot of car camping, so I'm buying a high-performance deep cycle battery. When I explained the specific battery I wanted for my vehicle, the interaction quickly made it clear that he was not particularly knowledgeable about high-performance car batteries and was not interested in helping a customer obtain the part they had already selected. Rather than discussing the request or looking into the battery I mentioned, he dismissed it outright and pivoted to pushing the batteries he prefers to sell. There was no attempt to understand the customer's objective or work toward a solution. If you are looking for a shop that is collaborative, well-informed about current battery options, or willing to accommodate reasonable customer requests, take your work elsewhere. I'm actually glad I had this experience, because I probably wouldn't have come to Yelp and seen that he's got TEN one star reviews. I'm now fully informed about this place, and I'll never bring my car here.

I told him the problem and he started working on the car without discussing any costs. After 15 mins, he came back and quoted me around $1500. I was shocked and told him no I don't want to do that. He said I still had to pay $265 for the diagnostic. A cost and service he did not tell me about. When I told him why he didn't tell me the cost, he said I should've known and I should've signed his contract. But he did not tell me about any contract. He did not ask me to sign anything and started working on my car without disclosing his policies or any cost. I still offered to pay him $100 since he did do a "diagnostic" but instead, he kept fighting me. He is extremely disrespectful and hides his costs so he can force you to pay. I will be reporting to him to the business bureau and will pursue a claim.

So we paid $50 for the initial evac service and will pay the other half after we put the new ac parts for so they can recharge. Arrived to the shop for my appointment, only to be surprised by the sales person stating that someone had misquoted and implied that we were lying even though I had presented the original invoice. As for the remaining service required, will now cost us $205!!!!! We had already paid $50 and now they want an additional $205. *Mind you, I had driven a hour to get to their shop. Long story short we ended up not getting the work finished by them and went elsewhere instead to get the same work done for MUCH LESS than what they wanted. Sad thing is all throughout their shop are religious paraphernalia and quotes from the bible, yet they're actions and practice reflected something much different than what they HOPE to portray. DO NOT GET YOUR WORK DONE FROM DICK'S TIRE HAUS!!! Very unethical and misleading. Huge waste of time and they will go back on their word. I would give them ZERO stars if I could.

I took the car to my dealership and they pointed out that the oil filter had likely failed as the oil had leaked out which caused heavy engine damage. I contacted A1 Auto Service Center and was told that since the oil filter was good when I drove away, that it was my problem to deal with. After a LOT of back and forth over weeks and months WIX, A1 Auto Service Center's oil filter supplier, eventually covered the damage to my car. However the approximate $5,000 in rental car charges that I incurred, due to not having a working vehicle for several months, was never recouped. After doing some research into the industry, it turns out shops like A1 Auto Service Center are required to have insurance to cover situations like this and they didn't have it. In the end A1 Auto Service Center put the responsibility on me to pursue their oil filter supplier while they refused to take any responsibility. A reputable shop would have provided a backup vehicle while they took point and got it sorted out. I understand companies being cautious about accepting liability but this should never come at the expense of the customer. I felt helpless as these two companies consistently pointed the finger at each other all while I'm incurring debt in order to secure transportation just so I don't lose my job and ability to provide for my family. The way the owner/manager conducted himself towards me was disgraceful, disrespectful, and showed a complete lack of care for my situation as his customer. Everyone I spoke to that was involved in this ordeal had similar things to say him and the way he does business. This is, by far, the worst experience in customer service that I have ever received. That is why I have come back 10 years later to drop this review.
