At first he wanted me to pay half upfront before providing me with a contract or invoice. He also insisted that I pay the full amount before he completes the job. He did such a sloppy and terrible job. Despite sharing the OWNER'S MANUAL - ANCHORING LAYOUT with him, the anchors were incorrectly measured and installed. He measured 14 by 10 (which were the measurements for the gazebo, not the posts). While Alex was working, my brother stopped by and noticed that he didn't install the anchors while the cement was wet so I tried calling him before he left so he can fix the issue. He ignored all of my calls. I texted him to call me. He called me and shouted at the top of his lungs, " STOP CALLING ME, STOP CALLING ME! I'LL CALL YOU LATER" and hung up in my face. His behavior changed completely. I was shocked. He ended up coming back to install some screws after the cement cured. They were supposed to be 42 inches deep to support the heavy gazebo but instead they were 7 inches in. Even with him measuring 14 by 10, they weren't even at ALL. One side was off by 11 inches. Sad to say, it all went to waste because the measurements were all off and we had to find another alternative after I already paid him $1100. :(

Not only was their price very reasonable (it came in between two other quotes), Mike also took his time to explain what to look for in a paver patio and what design elements would fit our vision. He also educated us on the installation process of the patio from the very beginning. Once the construction started, it went much quicker than we had expected. And throughout the process, Mike continued to communicate with us changes that needed to be made based on the elevation of our yard. He always gave us choices on the changes, and we often consulted him on the better choice. Because we were working from home, we were able to observe Mike and his crew working on the patio. It was very clear that Mike took great care with the little details to make the patio perfect. Based on the similar care his crew members showed, it was clear that Mike also imparted the importance of quality work to them. Work quality aside, Mike was also wonderful and respectful from the first time we talked. When we first met, he was kind enough to wear a mask when he saw that I was also wearing a mask. I also appreciate his effort in learning to pronounce and use my name - it's not something that other contractors even attempted. My wife also enjoyed talking to Mike. Specifically, she appreciated that Mike treated her and I with the same amount of respect. Her experience with most contractors is often unpleasant because they would talk around her or dismiss her questions or suggestions. Mike, however, listened to her input and respected her decisions. We are very satisfied with the result, and more important, we enjoyed our interactions with Mike throughout the entire process of the project. In fact, we have already started talking to Mike about returning at a later time to landscape our front lawn. Upmost originally messed up my driveway by spilling sealer in several areas of the driveway and…read morediscoloring it. Their solution to their mistake was to apply concrete stain on the driveway to cover the discoloration. The stain was improperly applied and started peeling shortly after. The pictures show the state of my driveway right now, and it's been over a year and I still don't have a driveway that's properly done. Every worker they have sent out to evaluate the driveway was shocked by how poorly the driveway was done. Nick and his team keep saying they will come out to fix it, but they never show up. They will not properly fix any problems with their poor worksmanship, so please learn from my experience and avoid doing business with them.
