CHRIS AIVALIOTIS LIED TO ME AND WASTED MY TIME. I see a listing for 3 bedroom, private backyard, and pet friendly apartment in Astoria. It checked all the boxes I was looking for. When I went to go initially meet with Chris he was very charming and polite. We went inside to look at the apartment and quickly I noticed it's not a three bedroom, it's a 2 bedroom with an office (there's no way that office could fit a bed). The back yard was not private, it's shared with the other tenants in the building, however he still reassured me it was pet friendly. So even though what I initially went in for changed, I was still willing to consider this apartment. I noticed that the stove was very very old and when I asked him if the landlord would be open to replacing it he suggested to me that in a month or two I should tell her that I smell gas and it's coming from the stove and then she would replace it. He also told me I could cut some of the wires from the back myself and tell her it's "broken". He told me the same could be done for the outdated fridge as well. So then I decide to meet with the landlord and sign the lease. When I get there, he had told the landlord a different day so she was not there, I waited almost an hour to meet her. While waiting for her Chris was bragging to me about how many apartments has has leased, and also coached me on different ways to get what I want out of the apartment such as telling my future landlord that I only have a 10lb dog, don't mention the kitchen just break it instead, etc. When the landlord finally arrives I meet with her and start signing the lease. As I'm signing the lease I told her the lease does not mention pets, she said "oh, no pets here, I'm sorry" I drop then pen and start to talk to her. Her and Chris ignore me, start speaking in Greek in front of me, come to the conclusion that they should raise my rent $300 more dollars a month if I bring my dog. So at the end of the day this CHRIS AIVALIOTIS showed me an apartment that was the exact opposite of the listing and also showed me how do destroy appliances in order to get what I want. What a fucking snake. There are much better realtor's out there and since he brags about how many places he fills I'm sure he will be just fine without your business. Don't wast your time. Oh and since he told me to write him a review, here you go Chris. read more

BEWARE! Do NOT work with Chris. He is dishonest and will not give you your money back. In mid-October I found an apartment listed for rent on Zillow that looked great. I contacted the number listed and then met with Chris for him to show me the apartment. I told him I was interested so he sent me an application after which the landlord accepted me, and I met with the landlord and Chris to sign the lease, and pay the security deposit, first month's rent, and broker fee. Unfortunately I noticed something in the lease afterwards that would have put me in violation of the lease, which I obviously didn't want and knew the landlord wouldn't want either, so I was honest and called the landlord. The landlord was very nice and because it was weeks before the term of the lease was even supposed to start, we met so that I could give him back the lease and he could return my security deposit and my first month's rent. Everything was amicable. After this I contacted Chris explaining that the lease had been terminated and asked when he would return our broker fee. He said that he would return the fee when the apartment was re-rented (again this was weeks before the term of the lease was even going to start so there was plenty of time to find another tenant in a beautiful and reasonably priced apartment). It has been three months and he has yet to return a penny. I have called him multiple times and he continues to tell me the apartment still hasn't been rented even though I see it listed Off Market on Zillow, and that he will pay me once the apartment has been rented. Chris should have already returned the broker fee even if the apartment hasn't been rented. Chris is the seller's broker, not the renter's broker. He was not working for us, nor did we sign any paperwork with him saying so. I met him one time, only for this apartment. I've now had to take legal action, and am writing this review so that you steer clear of him. Although he has mostly positive reviews, I'd read the negative ones too. read more

Chris is the man! After endless searches with sleezy sneaky brokers I finally found the perfect apartment for me and it only took one quick visit. Chris met me at the place and arrived early, fully introduced himself and actually showed interest in getting to me know me personally and what I was looking for. Every other broker that I met with didn't even shake my hand, look me in the eye, or ask for my name, all they were interested in was $$$$$. It was so refreshing! oh, and can't forget the fact that he is totally hilarious! I felt like I've known him forever. All of the other brokers showed me apartments that were either completely different from the photos OR 95% of the time they were already sold while I was looking and completely wasted my time. I also brought a friend both times (when I initially looked at the apartment & when I went back to sign the lease) & they both said how awesome hilarious and nice he was. I was actually taken aback when I worked with him because I was so used to meeting with slimey brokers. Even just walking around the apartment building inside and out Chris knew everyone on a first name basis and what they did for work, where they were from and their whole story. It's like he is a long time friend of everyone and you don't normally get that with real estate brokers (actually, never!) I am so happy that I found Chris and kind of sad that I wasted my time on other brokers before I got to him but hey you live you learn! I have a few friends that are looking to move to Astoria in the coming months and I have already told them that they absolutely must use him and nobody else. Next time I move I will only be working with Chris. Great guy, great experience, 100 stars! read more

Drop all of the other brokers you are working with and go to Chris. Or if you don't have any broker you need to call him up as soon as you finish reading this review. This is no exaggeration or me being dramatic, but the upmost truth. I came to NYC with the intent of signing for a studio or 1 bed within my budget ($1,300-$1,500), within a decent commute to Columbia, and that was in an area that I felt the most comfortable. I toured so many places that left me feeling rather frustrated and discouraged. Either my commute to school was too long or the price was far too much for what I was getting $1,450 for the tiniest room I ever saw). I told Chris my budget and what I needed and he came through. I saw the cutest, most charming studio in Astoria. It was way bigger than any studios I saw earlier and priced for $1,500 (within budget!!!) My place is within a two minute walk from the laundromat AND the train. I submitted all of my documents and application that night, got approved at noon the next day and signed that evening. I secured housing that I'm so excited for that quickly with him. For someone who has never lived in New York, had a strict budget, and was doing this all on my own he was nothing short of rad. I am incredibly happy and forever grateful to him. Ok now go call him and have him help you find your next apartment! read more

I recently worked with Chris during my search for an apartment in my ideal neighborhood. Chris initially showed me 3 places, and I ended up signing a lease for one of them despite not being thrilled about some of the apartment's features. After visiting the apartment a second time I realized the issues with the place were really not ideal/would be difficult to live with and needless to say I was having a hard time with my decision (although I was still planning to move in since I didn't have a choice). Afterwards, I happened to run into Chris in the lobby of the building. By chance, I ended up telling him about how I was feeling. To my surprise, Chris immediately offered me the chance to take another unit in the building which had just come on the market. He took me to see it right then and there and turns out this unit was exactly what I was looking for all along!! Chris immediately called the landlord who agreed to rent me this apartment instead! Amazing! I am grateful to Chris because doing this meant he needed to begin showing the apartment I had initially taken, which would be more work for him. I am glad I worked with Chris! read more

Chris helped me to find our home on the Upper East Side. We contacted him regarding a listing of his on the UES and he responded right away and made himself available to show us the space on short notice. Chris was able to get us in our apartment in just a few days! We are super impressed with Chris' hard work, plus our apartment is FANTASTIC and even better than we could have imagined!!! The space is amazing and we could never have gotten in without Chris' help. I will certainly NEVER use another Broker, we are Chris' clients for life. It's hard to find a Broker you can trust but we found that in Chris tenfold. If we could rate him 100 stars we would!!! NO BETTER BROKER IN NYC! Hands down the most professional and personable broker in the business. He made sure this apartment was just right for OUR needs and made us feel like we were his only clients and top priority. It will be a long time before we move again given our AMAZING apartment but when the time does eventually come Chris is the only one we trust to find us our dream space!!!! If you are looking to move call Chris, there is no better person to represent you!! read more

If I could give 10stars I would I was in a desperate situation looking for an apartment with a former girlfriend Chris assured me that he would find us the perfect apartment and he did we were so happy he made the application process a breeze and no Hidden charges, two years later I need an apartment in Manhattan on the upper Eastside .Chris was able to find me a great place with an actual real full-size one bedroom that I could fit a king size bed . Chris made all this happen within a few days and I was moved in and he even was able to get me a great moving company at a fair price. I felt like he was a true friend not just a run-of-the-mill broker looking to make commissions. I recommended him to many of my friends and they have all had same great experience it's also a pleasure to ride in his wonderful new white Jaguar cruising through the city looking for the great apartment hunt . He is the True art of the deal and got me exactly what I wanted to live in Manhattan. read more

We just moved to Astoria from Toronto. My wife's work involves relocation every four or five years so we are used to making big moves from country to country. They give us a full week to find an apartment in our new city. Normally it takes at least four to five of those days to find a place we are happy with. It took Chris Aivaliotis three hours to show us a place so perfect my wife and I had tears in our eyes. A beautiful roof-top apartment comfortably in our budget. The view is magnificent with plenty of windows and a spacious deck to enjoy it. We had six weeks before we made the move from Canada. Everything Chris promised he would do in preparing the apartment was done. The few minor adjustments we needed only took a phone call. Chris is a man of his word. We originally were not looking in Astoria, but Chris's instincts told him we would not only love this apartment but this whole area and neighbourhood and we do. I feel completely at home. Thank you Chris. read more

My experience using Chris Aivaliotis from Voro Realty was exactly what I needed to accomplish my goal of finding the perfect apartment in New York City. After coming up short with other realty companies and enduring several bad experiences later, finding Chris made my goal so easy to execute. He wasted no time and walked me through the process with a great deal of patience and care. His local knowledge of the market and city will get you in an apartment as soon as possible. I wish I would have connected with him sooner because it's really hard to find good customer service these days, especially in New York City. Please don't waste your time with any other realty company. Luckily, I did all the hard work for you by telling you where to start your search! Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and call Chris today! I'm honestly taking the time to give him this great review because he truly deserved it. Cheers! read more

Chris was wonderful from start to finish. He made my rental process seamless, and he made sure I was happy with everything throughout. He was very clear and up-front about all the details. Honestly, you couldn't ask for more in dealing with a broker! After dealing with so many incompetent and misleading brokers, working with Chris was SUCH a pleasure! Walking around the building with him, I could tell how good he is at his job- virtually every single tenant we encountered greeted him warmly and enthusiastically. He's also very funny and down-to-earth, and was extremely prompt in responding to all my questions. He even walked me to the subway after viewing the apartment to show me the neighborhood and make sure I liked it. He goes above and beyond what is expected of a broker. I will certainly be recommending him to anyone and everyone looking for an apartment in Queens. Thank you for everything, Chris! read more

Made finding the first apartment for myself and my fiancé such a painless, and actually great experience! My fiancé found an apartment that he listed and reached out with a question, Chris responded within minutes and was able to show us the apartment the same day! He made the application process incredibly easy and we heard back from him saying we were approved within hours of sending it (he even told us when we first met that we were good candidates and that we were already approved). From first viewing the getting the keys, there was nothing complicated or strenuous about the entire process. He's very personable and brings a lot of energy, which was not the case with other realtors that we found prior to him. We could tell that he has a lot of experience as well, and has a solid understanding of the market both locally and at large. If you're looking for an apartment or a house, just go to Chris! read more

Chris was amazing! I just got thrown into a less-than-ideal situation when my current building was served with an order to vacate and Chris found me a place in the same neighborhood, in my price range, with much more space (I mean, it has a backyard - it's basically a unicorn). He also worked with me all weekend to get the lease signed well within 48 hours. He's an expert in the field of Queens neighborhoods - I lost track of the amount of times he looked across the street to someone and noted, "Oh, I remember him/her - I helped them with their apartment four or five years back." He's sensitive to your needs, income, and expectations and is very accommodating in terms of his own schedule. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat and am currently referring my fellow tenants who are being displaced in the next few months to him. He's as good as it gets. read more

Great guy. Fast, reliable, no-nonsense. I recently moved to NYC with my family and Chris was the only broker who went beyond his role to make us feel welcome in Astoria and help us settle down. His knowledge of the area is tremendous and he worked with us to find the most suitable apartment for our needs. On top of that, he even helped us with furnishing by referring us to stores where we got great deals just by virtue of saying that Chris sent us. After we signed the lease, he gave us a tour of Astoria to show us all the local stores and places, basically gave us a feel for the neighborhood. Its been several weeks since we moved in and Chris has texted me twice (including once today) to ask if we had settled and if everything is alright with the apartment. Overall, he helped make what was a huge transition for the whole family, feel very smooth. read more

Chris is the best! I worked with 4 different brokers upon my arrival to NYC and wasted my time being forced to look at something that I did not ask for. However, after meeting with Chris and telling him exactly what I was looking for, he knew right away what properties to show me. He wasn't pushy or manipulating just so I can sign a lease. Chris made me feel so comfortable and the whole process was more like a friend helping you find an apartment as opposed to a broker just trying to make a sale. At the same time, he was extremely professional and made sure to show me everything that checked off my list. He definitely knows what he is doing, which is rare amongst a lot of other brokers, and he was able to get me into my apartment as soon as possible! I honestly can't praise him enough. Best broker I have met yet. Thank you Chris! read more

I want to give a BIG shout out to Chris Aivaliotis for helping my son fine a great apartment in Astoria. I am in California and my son is in New York so helping to coordinate a move and take care of the financials long distance can be challenging at best. Chris took care of all the details and worked around my son's crazy schedule to make sure we had a move in ready apartment. The apartment is close to the subways, shops, and great restaurants and meets all my sons needs while finishing med school. Chris took the time to ease my concerns, attended to the paperwork, and we had the keys on moving day. All is well -and I am so grateful for the excellent service I received. If you want to find the perfect place to live in NY from someone who will go the distance - turn to Chris Aivaliotis. THANK YOU CHRIS!! read more

Chris has to be the best broker I have ever worked with and would absolutely recommend him to others. Looking for an apartment is always stressful especially in NY where apartments are gone fast. Chris demeanor and friendliness helped a stressful and what can also be an intimidating situation be a chill vibe. If you are looking in the Astoria area Chris is 123% your guy. Super knowledgable of the area and the buildings he is working with. He has been working in the business such a long time (trust me, I asked) and you can tell because he is very good at it - so, definitely a trustworthy guy. Not a BS kind of guy, gets the job done quick if you're on top of it too as he is, and listens to the needs you're looking for in an apartment. I would 100% use him again if/when I decide to move :) read more

I had been searching for months for an ideal apartment in Manhattan and barely was able to come across anything I preferred. Luckily, I found Chris and he has been the best broker I've had in years. Words cannot express how ecstatic I am following this moving process. Not only is he reliable and a great communicator, the entire process was seamless with no issues and he helped me get into my ideal living situation with ease. I would recommend him to all my friends and family for the value he presents. I couldn't be happier with the location I'm in as it's a perfect balance between work and school. It looks like I'm going to spend a while using him as a broker because of how well things have gone. I look forward to working with Chris again in the future because I know he has my back! read more

I rented a studio apartment in Astoria from Chris a few years ago and to this day I still rave about the experience. Despite having great credit and a full-time job, I had dealt with numberous rude realtors and horrible application procedures. Just as I was about to give up, I was lucky enough to find Chris who treated me like a person (and not a price tag). He is extremely well-mannered and informative about the area and rental process. He also has a great sense of humor, which is helpful in stressful situations, such as finding an apartment by yourself in the city. The application process was an absolute breeze, making my overall experience a fantastic one. What a relief! I would highly recommend Chris from Voro to anyone looking for a place to live in the Queens area. read more
