Food is delicious. Although the waitress has a permanent stank face and it seems like she doesn't know how to smile. It took over an hour for my husband and I to get our food when we were there and not once did she check in and ask if we needed anything, the hostess was a lot more accommodating. read more

We stopped by Chow Ya this evening and enjoyed our meal. Food was plentiful and tasty, though visitors should be aware this is Asian fusion and not true ethnic cuisine. The menu is somewhat limited, but their offerings all sounded appealing. My sweetie and I both ordered the chicken and beef combo bowls and enjoyed them. Service was reasonably prompt though perfunctory. The place is newly opened, so I suspect they need a bit of time to polish their performance. We will definitely come back again, and this place is a nice change from the typical Lompoc fare of burgers, coffee shops or sushi. read more

My parents and I ate here for lunch today! The environment is streamlined, nice, and clean. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The prices are very reasonable. I got the Grilled Salmon salad, it was so delicious and perfectly balanced. I will definitely come to get this salad again soon. My Mom got the Avocado and Mango salad, she said it was very refreshing! My Dad got the Black Pork rice bowl and he said it was perfect. We will be back soon and hope that everyone in Lompoc and passing through will come and give it a try. This place is unique with "California Asian fusion", it's the only one in Lompoc. I have eaten here three times. I've had the Ramen soup, shrimp fried rice, chicken yakisoba, shrimp bombs, kimchi, and fried sampler. Everything was very good. This is a great new place. Locals and base populace should come and support this local restaurant. read more

Please patronize this restaurant and keep it in business in Lompoc! Chow Ya is incredibly fresh, if not the freshest, restaurant to have seafood in the area. Appetizers are delicious, salads are large and fresh, and the bowls are piping hot (careful!) and flavorful. Everything I've tried on the menu so far I definitely recommend. Edamame, oysters, fried tofu as appetizers are tasty. The seaweed salad is larger, cheaper and tastes far better than Sushi Teri's seaweed salad. The poke salad or bowl is a large portion and perfect for leftovers after lunch. The spicy pork with kimchi bowl is good but on the heavier side--maybe better to order for dinner rather than lunch. The pork cuts are a little gristly; however, I would probably still order it. This is about the only constructive criticism I can offer Chow Ya! The facilities are clean, bright, and airy and the staff is attentive. Prices seem fair and portions are more than fair. Chow Ya sets what I hope to become the standards by which Lompoc restaurants follow. read more

Spicy crunchy Shrimp Bowl is pretty good. It comes with white rice veggies and shrimp. The cost.. $12.95. It is best if you eat there, but togo might work as well. I will continue to try more and keep you updated. read more

Finally something different and delicious. It's Asian fusion so expect a little of everything. It all blends quite well together. The service we had was great, our waiter and other employees made sure everything was great a few times, which is always nice. Food was great and had plenty to take home. Korean spicy kimchi seafood ramen soup makes my mouth water just to think of it! My husband drove up the coast & were so happy to find this in Lompoc! It was perfect after a day at the beach. Steaming goodness, nourishing & wonderful in every way! Nice presentation amid minimal beautiful decor. Good service & prices. There are virtually no good choices for vegans in Lompoc, until now! We've only eaten here once, so far, and we all had the Crispy Tofu Teriyaki Bowl with brown rice. There was enough food for 2 meals, and it was delicious. The veggies were steamed perfectly, there was plenty of tofu and the rice was perfect. I'm anxious to try some of the other vegan friendly options. If they would just label some of the dishes as 'vegan' or 'vegan option', I would be in heaven! read more

Warmed up (by deep frying) pork cutlet and smothered in sauce is not my idea of a good appetizer- neither are small pieces of pre-cooked teriyaki beef and chicken also smothered in sauce. The beef and chicken were on top of a mountain of steamed rice (way too much for what was served) and the steamed vegetable were plain and tasteless. Asian cooking is all about FRESH. I can get better at the mall- at least I can watch the cooks actually start with raw ingredients. I wrote a note something to this effect and sent it along with our bill. Teriyaki at a better restaurant needs to be cooked as a large piece and then sliced although I know of a small cafe that cooks it raw as large and slices. This food serviced in a large bowl is ridiculous- serve in an actual bento box or plate as it was too hard to dig into the bowl. I can only think that the bowl fools the customer into thinking they are getting a mountain of food- . presentation does count. The waitress was amazed that we didn't take the left- overs and that doesn't happen very much from our side. We weren't happy with the meal and made an excuse that we were flying home the next day. As we left a huge table (20 people) were served their bowls. Is this what the citizens of Lompoc, CA think is a good representation of an asian restaurant? read more

Food is decent but the wait times are ridiculous, They'll say 30 minutes but really its at least an hour no matter how simple the order is.

I understand we came at a time closer to when they were closing for lunch, but the server/ cashier literally stood with her arms crossed just looking at our table when everybody else had left. Above average food. Good service. Ample proportions. Great variety. My husband ordered Poke bowl and I ordered the crunchy chili shrimp for lunch. The salad and dressing on the poke bowl perfectly complimented the sauce on the tuna. I had at least a dozen perfectly crunchy battered shrimp served with steamed vegetables and sweet chili sauce. I tend to be very hard on restaurants because I worked in restaurants for many years. I couldn't find one thing negative about this restaurant or the food. I had the chicken beef bbq bowl and miso soup. Both were delicious! The service was great and the restaurant itself had a good atmosphere. Will definitely stop in again. Tried chowya for the first time last night, got the crispy tofu teriyaki bowl and one of the crispy chicken bowls. Overall really great, and they use a healthy/light amount of sauce so I might ask for extra sauce next time haha.
