I have income from many different sources, both 1099 and W2, and she immediately made excellent recommendations on how to set up my finances and taxes. She has a great system for filing each year that allows you to do everything electronically and recalls information from previous years which saves so much time. I was disorganized every year in trying to manage all of my receipts and Meseret has patiently helped me and gave me suggestions for software which has simplified everything! I no longer dread finding all my receipts and invoices at the end of the year. But what I like most about Meseret is how personable she is and how committed she is to her clients. She has never let me down and has consistently gone above and beyond to follow up with me when I'm missing deadlines. I appreciate how dedicated she is to what she does; it is refreshing to find someone who cares about the quality of their work. I would absolutely recommend Meseret Y Zeleke CPA Firm everyone.

I received a flyer in the mail for some $$ off first time tax preparation with Moore Financial. We decided to make an appointment and were welcomed as new clients with a prompt appointment. We actually met with the "Moore", John Moore, a older fellow who has owned the business for more than 20 years. He is very knowledgable and his staff is friendly as well. He offers advice on all types of financial services (mortgage, retirement, etc.) so I feel like we have a one stop shop if needed. Very good services here. We actually had a refund coming to us in 2006!!! Wooo hooo! They made our appointment for 2007, which is coming up near the end of February. We welcome the visit to their offices...I really like that they have cookies! :) (As you can tell, my requirements for good service aren't high...feed me!) I highly recommend John Moore for your financial services.

Charlene is our tax preparer and we always feel really confident in her work. We feel like she really knows us, cares about us and is invested in our financial well-being. As usually, we completed our tax prep last evening. Charles does a great job of accommodating our crazy schedule and was ready for our 6:00 appointment. We even got there a bit early and she was ready to take us. We also do our do diligence in being prepared and it works out well. We were in and out in less than an hour, our taxes filed and submitted, paperwork complete. All we need to do now is wait for our very nice return to appear in our bank account. Some people would argue that going to a cheaper place is better (and cheaper, for sure) BUT I maintain that we are investing in year round financial assistance. When we first started coming to Moore, our taxes were a nightmare and Charlene helped us through many scary moments. We have an easier go of it now but when all is said and done, knowing we have someone we can call and get immediate help is all the piece of mind we need. We appraise all the hard work Moore has done fro us and we are life-long customers.

Then there was the year my mother was very ill (and passed), and I couldn't even deal with opening envelopes with tax information, or sorting receipts and bills. I was able to just drop off a large shoebox of unsorted papers and unopened envelopes and her office staff brilliantly and affordably took care of me. (This is NOT a regular service!) She did not disclose the price of the service at any time before the conversation. If I knew of how much it would have costed me, I would surely not have agreed to that this. I think this was not professional to not state the price of the service before we started talking as I thought that conversation was not yet part of the service. And the value I received from that was not much at all.

I met with him in March to resolve an urgent federal and state tax issue. He said he'd look into both ASAP, but he sat on it for about 2 weeks before I was able to follow up with him again. By that time, it was too late to deal with the state issue, and I ended up with a few months of pretty punishing wage garnishment. He said he filed the appropriate forms for the federal issue. I followed up with him a few weeks later requesting a status update. I was not able to reach him via email for a couple of weeks, and finally got ahold of someone in his office and was told the proper paperwork was filed and that it could take a month or two for the IRS to respond. It's now been four months. I've been emailing his office for a month with no response. I tried calling and got voicemail message referencing holidays in May or June that were never updated when he returned. I ended up calling the IRS myself and discovering that the form he claimed to have filed was never actually filed. The IRS agent helped me resolve the issue myself on the phone, and thankfully no aggressive collection proceedings had been initiated. This was a very stressful and overwhelming issue that I sought out professional legal advice to ensure it was dealt with correctly and quickly, and Chris utterly failed me to an extreme that is inexcusable.

Nobody likes taxes, but Christopher helps make the process as painless as possible for his clients. He's extremely responsive (literally, usually same hour email response), and his rates are very competitive --- despite also being a tax attorney and more qualified than many of his peers. I have always felt like you get that part of his expertise for free. He's definitely versed and qualified to handle slightly more complex tax matters -- business owners, rental property, etc. One of the best examples of how Christopher goes above and beyond happened this year. He filed our federal and state returns for us, and made a mistake in not submitting the ACH information for payment. We noticed it a few days after taxes were due, and after touching base with Christopher he immediately admitted it was his error and we paid the balance due via check. He told us he would personally take care of any penalty owed. Sure enough, a couple months later we received a letter from the state of CA with a sizable balance due for the penalty. I sent it to Christopher late on a Friday...to my surprise he literally replied within minutes and said he'd take care of it and pay the full balance out of his own pocket right away. Not every business admits their mistakes, and fewer of them make it right. Christopher definitely did that, and did so in minutes.

As a business owner, my taxes can get pretty complicated. I always have a lot of questions, and sometimes tax law can feel like a foreign language. But Paul and Jamie have this rare ability to break everything down in a clear, patient, and approachable way. They never hesitate to answer questions (no matter how small or repetitive), and they do it in a way that makes me feel reassured and fully informed to make the right decisions. They genuinely care not just about getting your taxes done right, but about helping you reach your goals. That's something really unique. They always take the time to understand what I'm trying to achieve and then guide me toward it with strategy and confidence. That kind of partnership is rare, and it makes all the difference. My husband and I hired Paul Chiang/kroyCPA to prepare our 2022 and 2023 taxes on the recommendation…read moreof a friend who has used them. I would strongly advise against working with them and will be seeking a new tax accountant for next year. Months after filing our 2022 taxes (November 2023), we had an unapproved $500 withdrawal from our back account by kroyCPA. Once they finally got back to me, they explained that our payments from April and May 2022 ($250 each) had failed and they were attempting payment again. We were not notified in April, May, or any of the months leading up to November that these payments had failed, nor were we given a heads up before they tried again months later. This miscommunication left a bad taste in my mouth, and unfortunately we didn't seek out a new tax preparer then. I wish we had. For our 2023 taxes, we submitted all of our documents on March 5 and March 13. I received an email on March 11 saying that mine had been received, and once my husband submitted his, I sent a response on March 13 letting them know he had done so and asking if anything else was needed. I never received a response to this inquiry. On March 29 I sent a follow up message through their portal and still received no response. On April 2, I left a voicemail around 8:30 am, called again once they were open around 10:30 am and was told I would receive a call back. After not receiving a call back, I called again at the end of the day and was once again promised a call back. On April 3, I called once again and was told I would receive a call, sent another message through the portal, and followed this with an email marked URGENT. I finally received a call back the afternoon of April 3, and honestly I think it was only because I said if I didn't receive one that day that I would find someone else to do our taxes. While I appreciated that we were offered a $100 discount on their fee, I did NOT appreciate discovering that kroyCPA had increased their fees from the previous year and did not notify us (or likely, any of their clients). Honestly, everything about them feels kind of shady. After being ghosted this year, I went back through emails from last year and found that there was a pattern of non-responsiveness. I understand that we are not their only clients and this is a very busy time of year, but confirming they have everything they need from us would have taken 5 minutes. (Also, they didn't - they had questions about 2 documents based on our 2022 taxes for accounts that we no longer hold, and did not ask this until I finally received a call back yesterday.) So again, if you are looking for someone to do your taxes, I would look elsewhere. Their fees are EXORBITANT and the customer service is non-existent.
