How is this place even open??? Food is NASTY...not one edible thing on the entire buffet.

Almost didn't go here due to bad reviews. Good thing I ignored them. We really enjoyed the buffet. All items were fresh, no mushy vegetables. so me and my family came here to eat and while we were eating we found tons of hair in our food, we were pulling hair out of our mouths, disgusting. we called out waiter over and ask him to take a look and he tried to say that it was my hair! he was also pulling hair off the plate so his manager didn't see it when we called him over to our table. the manager said "sorry, you get two dollar off" so he took the $2 off our $45 total. unacceptable, so me and my family walked out of that restaurant without paying any total. also filed a lawsuit. do not eat here! read more

Compared to Ichiban, this place is bigger, cleaner, and offer more food-- all what you want in a buffet. They have a hibachi AND soup made-to-order station. Sushi was kept on ice, which is always good. Will come back. read more

I went to here once an few years ago and have not been back since because of how bad it was. It was $20ish dollars for just one person to eat and when I got handed my ticket, there were extra receipts stapled on that rang up $300! The service was not very good either. read more

I didn't like this place much. I had my moms bday party here, well I tried to have a good party but Our waitress Jenny was pestering us while we were eating, asking us how many kids were on each persons tab over and OVER again after we told her when we sat down how many was with each group. Felt very uncomfortable and disrespected even after she started asking the kids "how old they were. Only reason this place didnt get 5 stars is the sesame chicken was the 2nd worst I've ever had (left out to long), fondue machine was out of order and the drinks are not included. Other than that the food was great and a service was on point. Even though there is a wide variety of choices I don't think there's 255. This is probably the worst place i have ever been. it took nearly 30 mins to get our drinks. The food was cold. Our waiter rarely showed his face to serve. The bathroom was a complete disaster. This place is big, has lot of good food, good salad bar, pretty good sushi, killer hibachi bar, and did I mention? Big! I've only had one bad experience with the service there. I noticed a bunch of people paying for their ticket at the counter on their way out. When I tried to do this, my waiter acted like I was dining and dashing. I told the front desk about him and apparently he was pretty rude to another table as well and they overheard us and voiced their complaint as well. I will definitely be back and just make sure I'm not in that guy's section. Great place. Bathroom could use a little more attention. Not a big peanut chicken fan but theirs made me a believer. Came for the lunch menu. Cost me under $7 for everything. Too full to try the grill or noodle station. I will on next visit! I eat at a lot of Chinese buffet places traveling all over GA and AL, but this particular buffet place has got to be one of the best ones I've been too. All of their food choices were hot and plentiful AND they had more than just the usual sesame chicken and rice (which they have and is delicious)....I might recommend the Peanut Chicken - it was amazing! They have many different sushi choices, a large salad and dessert bar, a hibachi grill, and the hot and cold food Chinese buffet. If you are in and around Dothan, AL and in the mood for Chinese I would highly recommend this place! read more

It was just ok. Nothing special. Wonton soup - the wontons were nearly translucent, they must of been sitting in the broth a long time. The seating was pretty tight where we were seated - in a booth next to the aisle to the buffet. There are a lot of options, just nothing that stood out as great. read more

Arrived at 3:02 well before dinner time hours. Food was good as always but when we received our check noticed they charged us dinner prices. I checked because the table next to us had this issue when their check arrived. Ended up arguing with someone else, manager I assume, and finally just paid because I was getting highly annoyed. I've been there 3 times. First 2 times I was happy and would say the food is amazing for the price. Lunch is only $7 and the buffet includes sushi and hibachi bar. However my third trip will be my last. I'll never return to Chow King. We got there on a Friday early evening (4:30) and even then it was starting to get busy. We were seated very close to another table of loud people. All the tables there are very close together; barely any separation at all. My small child could reach over and touch people at the next table with his small arms. Seriously, he did that. The real problem came when I went to wash my hands before eating. Someone had vomited in the bathroom. Their staff obviously knew about it as the vomit had been "swept" into a corner where it was supposed to be hard to see. I only discovered it because I tried to use a urinal near the swept aside vomit. I nearly vomited myself but was able to leave the restroom and inform their staff of the problem. However I was in no condition to eat. After about 30 mins I decided I would be able to eat and had a hibachi bowl cooked up. Also ate a few shrimp. Shortly after eating my meal, Mother Nature beckoned me and I went back to the bathroom. As soon as I walked in I knew they had not cleaned and disinfected. The smell was awful and I barely made it to a stall where I also lost my meal from that evening. If they fail to clean and disinfect public spaces at their restaurant, I can only imagine what goes on in the kitchen. I'll never return. read more

Good chinese buffet, especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday nights. Food seems to be hotter and taste better even though it can get crowded at times. Only downside is their crab legs. They do not put many out at a time plus its one of their most populsr items. If its low or out generally a line forms to vet the 5 leg limit per visit. Of course one can make numerous visits to the buffet to get your fill. And if you like smaller crowds go earlier in the week. Crab legs are on the nightly buffet all week. Lunch is cheaper but not all the same items as at night. read more

I am not a big fan of buffets. I took my granddaughters here because they asked to come. The buffet tables were not well maintained. The sushi table was ask jumbled up by customers mixing everything up. No one speaks English. The hibachi cook spoke no English and this resulted in mixed up orders I will not be back. read more

I literally saw where someone had vomited in the bathroom on my first and only trip there. I alerted the staff to the issue. 30 minutes later I worked up the courage to walk back into the bathroom and all that had been done was to mop the "biohazard" off into a corner. Chow king has really set the standard for buffet in Dothan! Great food...three stars only because we waited 15 mins for the crab to be refilled and when we went for dessert every single ice cream was empty and had to ask for them to replace and waited 20 mins. read more
