Very good food and friendly service. Been a few times and enjoyed each visit. Mostly during lunch hours is when I have visited.

The food was awful. The chicken tasted old, and the steak was chewy with a strange, unpleasant flavor. We couldn't even finish our first plate. The service was good and the waitress was very nice, but unfortunately the food quality ruined the experience. We won't be back. read more

I do this every time. I give in to the temptation and then leave feeling guilty. It's an addiction. That said, this was above average experience. Lots of options for putting together a good meal, steam tables refreshed often and they were clean. I usually bring my own disposable gloves these days because I avoid touching shared surfaces and implements, but they have a dispenser (if you look for it). My waitress refreshed my water as needed, cleared dirty plates and brought the check when I was done. Other than a few kids who needed better parental guidance, this was a good experience. I've been to many buffets similar to Chow King in Germany, California and Florida. This is by far one of the best buffets I've been to. I came with my family. The weekend dinner price was $13.99. Not a bad price compared to what I paid in California. Anyway, they have a vast variety of delicious food, from salads to southern food, Asian food, and desserts. My favorite dessert is to get the chinese donut and put ice cream on it. I definitely will come back again. read more

My friend and I came from Graceville to eat at Chow King. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food was delicious, the bars were continuously being cleaned and filled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The boiled shrimp and ribs were my favorite, even though I had no complaints on anything. Our waitress was great, we never were without our drinks the entire time we were there. Chow King is a chain of buffet style restaurants and this particular location is in Dothan, Alabama. It is your typical buffet style restaurant. The focus more is on quantity and gluttony than actual culinary top-notch food. I don't mean this negative, this is just how it is. The great thing about a buffet is you can try a little of this in a little of that. It was great when my kids were younger and there was always somebody arguing about not liking something. At a buffet, you should be able to find anything and satisfy even the pickiest eater. We decided tonight to give Chow King a try despite the reviews on here and Facebook. It's been years since we've been there. Well I can say that I was seriously disappointed in the overall experience. The majority of the food was not kept at a constant temperature ( I pray I don't get sick) and was really bland. Even the black pepper chicken. The service was ok, they kept our drinks filled so that's a plus for them. However the restaurant staff allowing a family to allow their children to "run amok screaming" through the restaurant was a big issue. I get that they were kids, but when you're in public take steps to control your kid's so as to not interrupt other patrons dining experience. And then " confronting" and trying to instigate a fight with someone who simply asks you to control your kids is ridiculous. Chow King did give us $10 off our meal so I do appreciate that but asking the offenders to leave the premises would have been a much better decision. Anyways all in all I rate the visit 2-stars. read more

I've personally never had a problem with chow king, I've been going here my whole life. My only complaints are the sanitary levels which you can't really say much about as it is a buffet but I would prefer people wear gloves and masks when getting their food. (I'm very sensitive to germs and cleanliness levels) I've heard of some people getting food poisoning from here but I fortunately have not had that experience. Overall the food is good and it's the exact same every time I've ever been in there, I like most of the foods which is definitely saying something, and they have kid/picky eater friendly foods. Very rude. They can use some Manners. They stated that my family cannot sit together, because of seating arrangements and also we had a party of eight and for eight people you have to pay 15% gratuity they would not allow us to sit together and as a result, two members of my family left. When a member of my family went to say how unfair the 15% gratuity was and that all the waiter does is fill your water, the manager replied: "Well do you want to wash your own table?" The food was not that great either the good thing about it was the sherbet. Horrible manners, bad food, and over the food they had a sign that said: 'only take what you can eat' 'and don't waste food' as a buffet, we should be allowed to eat what you want and how much. The food is one step below iffy buffet food. The building was big and nicely decorated but looked very neglected and badly cleaned. Somehow every hot dish managed to be cold even though we went literally 2 minutes after they opened. Most of the meat was noticeably gross tasting. I ate lunch there last week and the waiter insulted me because I was eating some dessert. then today I had a different waiter and the service was terrible. when I paid for my meal with a debit card he pointed out that I didn't leave him a tip. i tip for good for good service but when the place isn't that busy and the service is poor I won't be leaving a tip!!! with the two incidents over the last week I refuse to go back EVER!! read more

For what the place is, this is worthy of 4 stars---this is one of those large Chinese buffets which has so so many options that one could consider it a baby Ryan's if the salad bar was stronger and they had a few more American dishes ---but instead you have a lot of your favorite Chinese dishes, hibachi for the taking, sushi for those prefer that, and a lot of frozen type seafood which ends up on the buffet in these type joints---plus roast beef , chicken wings, pizza and macaroni and cheese.. food is average but that's what you should expect here---except variety, some tasting better than others, and enjoy the different flavors and offerings until you are stuffed---and then go find some ice cream or other dessert to top it all off and smile on your way out---I did because it was as good or better than what I expected. read more

This place is always clean. The food is always fresh. The staff is always attentive and quick and friendly. The ONLY reason it didn't get a five star rating, is because the bathrooms are always SO HOT. I take myself and 3 kids to the restrooms periodically throughout our meal time and before we leave and I'm always sweaty coming out. This used to be one of my favorite buffets when my husband and I used to live in Enterprise during his military service. Their buffet includes Chinese food, hibachi, sushi, and comfort foods. The servers are always friendly and their food is consistent too. But be aware, there are many interesting people dining in. I once had a party of 3 sitting close to me complaining that there's no gravy at a CHINESE restaurant. Apparently they couldn't find one when it was right there lol and they started yelling and being racist to the servers. They made everybody around them very uncomfortable. I hope they never dine out again and stay home with a pot full of gravy. read more

At first I was very excited: it had satisfied customers leaving good reviews. I was happy with the variety and the surprisingly cheap price. However, as I ate my sushi, I choked on a piece of plastic. I debated it being hard seaweed and that I was a baby that should swallow it, but I opted to pull it out. Instead of the supposed hard seaweed was a strip of plastic. I assume it was an innocent mistake, but it made me decide for a 4 star review rather than a 5. Besides that, the food is filling and delicious. The amount and variety is overwhelming, but I did my best to taste as much as I could. There is hibachi included with the meal price, so if you bring a plate over to the window, you get to watch your meal fired up in front of you. read more

Back when I lived in Dothan, I'd come here several times a week. Really friendly staff. They'd ask about my family if they weren't there. The staff knew what drink I'd always get and there was always a warm welcome when they'd see me. Like most buffets, the food is great if you show up around lunch and probably two hours before closing. If you're going for sushi, definitely go around lunch. The later the day, the less likely the sushi will be replaced if you finish it. Amazing buffet for an amazing price. read more

Management was terrible the guy working the hibachi grill was careless. Had an allergic reaction because he put and used same utensils as shellfish as I specifically told him not to. Came here to eat. We stood at the door for a minute until the girls quit talking and could seat us. The food on the buffet was either hardly there or over cooked. I found a sesame seed in my drink. Therefore, I'm giving Chow King a One Star rating only because I cannot give them Zero Stars. Additionally, they claim to offer a Military Discount. Unfortunately, they will only honor it for Active Duty service members. This means that Chow King's so-called Military Discount is good for someone who has only just started a Military Career. Sadly that also means that the people whom have served over 20 years of their lives in the service of our country... Thusly those people who have made the greatest sacrifice, are the very same service members which Chow King has chosen to exclude from their So-called Military Discount. That's Pathetic!
