Where the locals eat. Chow Hound has some of the best food you will eat. My family loves their food and the service is outstanding. Everything we've had as been A+. The pizza is outstanding, you can't have it without having a side if their homemade ranch dressing though. Some of my favs is rife grilled chicken salad, Chicken Malibu, and Homemade Bean Burrito Salad. You can't go wrong with their hamburgers either. If your lucky you'll get to try the homemade treats in the bakery. read more

Worth driving the extra mile from the interstate! This is a cute little diner style fast food joint. We had a 1/4 pounder with cheese and it was great. We also had the crispy chicken salad and it was yummy. Prices are pretty cheap and the service was very friendly. The style of the booths and menu are a real throwback to another time. The best part is that this is a locally owned business that has been around for 40 years and is not part of a chain-- so while it's still fast food in price, speed and quality, it's nice to know that the money you spend will be staying in the community and not being funnelled to the fat cats at a large chain. read more

I checked this place out with my son earlier this month as we were staying in Green River and it's literally one of the only places to eat. Being inside the place I felt as though I had been transported back a couple of decades to the early 90s. It just has that look about it - probably because it clearly hasn't been renovated in a while. I actually liked that aspect, though. I got kind of a nostalgic vibe being there. It was nice not being in a familiar Burger King lobby. This place has character. We ordered a pizza - it was pretty tasty and priced pretty fairly. The lady who served us was friendly and efficient and apologized to us for having to wait so long (the people in front of us were "high demand"). The only complaint was the air-conditioner - it is so powerful it actually slowly moved my phone across the table as we ate. It was more amusing than annoying, and less of an observance than a true complaint, though. If ever I'm in the area I'll be sure to check it out again. read more

Am passing through Utah on my way to California and after spending an entire day in my hot car seeing the national parks in the area, this was the only place that looked appealing and was within 5 minutes of my hotel. I placed an order then waited an hour for it to be ready. The server was frustrated and rude to us while we waited. I still tipped knowing the feeling of a busy day at work. My wife, 6-month-old son, and I stopped here on our way to Grand Junction, and found it to have decent burgers, fries, and baked goods. It's reminiscent of other similar burger and ice cream joints in small towns throughout the West. There's not much seating inside, so I'd only recommend this for to-go orders or for outside dining on a pleasant summer day. I ordered a green chile burger, expecting canned green chiles on a cheeseburger. To my surprise, the chile was half of a recently roasted fresh chile and the burger was delicious. We had grilled cheeses and curly fries for a fresh change from truckstop fast food places. It was cute inside and reminded me of my own small town fast food hangout. It was filled with Tweens and the food was priced for a teenaged budget. Not bad, nice service, tasted fresh and we left happy. Grilled cheeses were what my babysitter would have cooked up for me in 1987, but they let us add tomatoes and grilled onions. Add a half star for that a friendly nature of the place. read more

Exit one exit east of the boring fast food cluster, and invest 5 extra minutes into driving into a real town. Nice place to eat quickly while supporting a local business. We liked the retro burger joint feel. We ate burgers with bbq sauce, onion rings, cheesy fries, and shakes. They make pizza, too. There are old-school sticker vending machines. The air-conditioning is over-kill, though. It was 102 degrees outside, and I had to grab a sweater to finish my meal! read more

To be driving across Utah, this is an oasis. Great burgers, great choices on the menu. Cozy seating, like a 70's hamburger stand. I give this place 4 stars for Green River. In a place like Chicago, it's be a 3. The burgers were crisp, not greasy. I was very impressed at the attentive staff. They timed the orders so they all came out at the same time, which is pretty impressive in most of these "off the beaten path" hamburger joints. Chimichangas, burgers, fries. My family and I were in Utah for the weekend and was fooled by 4 star rating on Yelp. First off no employees were wearing mask and neither were the customers. Also, none of the workers were wearing gloves. I seen the cook stick her bare hands(NO GLOVES) into jar of I don't know what to add topping onto burger. When we were next in line the cashier walked away without acknowledging us and started helping the cook with food orders, she just accepted cash and didn't wash her hands before touching food. A few minutes later she took our order, then we waited for about 30 min for our food. The food had no flavor and cheese fries look old and hard cheese microwaved. We were worried about getting sick but we didn't want to waste $50 of food so we ate it. The next day my son got sick and vomited 4 times and the day after that my wife got sick and threw up as well. I don't understand all the 5 star reviews, might just be from friends. read more

Family owned. Great fast food. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. The pizza is terrific and so are the burgers. The Western Burger is my favorite. I had some fried mushrooms and the cheese fries are beautiful. The staff is attentive and they have both Coke and Pepsi. I don't know of ANY other place in America that's allowed to do that. Stop in. Conveniently located across the street from The Sleepy Hollow Motel in Green River. The Chow Hound makes a terrific pizza with a nice, thick crust. We had the Combo Deluxe, which they serve with packages of red pepper flakes & Parmesan cheese. Excellent service in a clean, bright atmosphere. read more

Had pizza delivered. Delivered piping hot. Arrived very, very fast. (VERY pleased with that!) Staff was very helpful on the phone. Delivery person was very nice. Pizza was just as ordered. Did we like it? Well, it was a mixed bag. Had a party of 5: 2 hated it, 2 loved it, and 1 thought it was ok. Would I order again? Yes, I think it is worth giving them a shot.
