We were so surprised by this place!! seriously - we had spent the last two days in the Canyon lands and arches national parks nearby. This was the first little town we could stop at on our way back to Utah Valley and we yelped restaurants, and came here sort of on a whim! The server was very polite and even brought a flight of different sauces for us to try without even being requested! This place looked utterly inauspicious in multiple respects, but fate and hunger brought us here and it was surprisingly solid. In addition to a long laundry list of Mexican food they also have a kids menu for the taco-skeptical. The fajitas were quite tasty, the portions were immense, and our server was totally eager to hustle. There are miscues. Through a communication mistake, one of our items got omitted. When we eventually re-ordered it, the result was bizarre, and I'm still not sure whether it's what we ordered. To-go coffee came in styrofoam cups with soda-pop lids, but who drinks hot coffee through a plastic straw? And so on. But overall it was surprisingly solid. read more

This city feels fairly abandoned. I didn't even notice the restaurant sitting right next to a large gas station and Tesla chargers. The inside is fun and comfortable. The host was a really nice guy. The prices were higher than I expected for a run down city in the middle of nowhere but the food was good and tasted very authentic. Waiter was very polite and gave us lots of extras. It's wonderful to have a restaurant like this near the Tesla Supercharger in Green River. Before this restaurant there was basically no place to eat around the charger. Try their homemade hot sauces and the spinach and chicken quesadilla. read more

Stopped in to El Charro Loco, a new (I think) Mexican place in a long-term building that is a Green River landmark. The Tradewinds building has had various restauranteurs give-it-a-go in-town over the years. The food was *outstanding*, the real-deal. The building should be designated a Utah Historical Landmark; the zenith of mid-Century modern architecture. There will be a movie filmed here someday. It was busy on a Friday night, so the lone server had a bit of pressure with tables. Give them some grace, give their amazing cuisine a try, and hopefully they'll be able to bring in a second and third server :) read more

El Charro Loco was such a gem during our cross-country trip. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations for a stop along the road. We especially really enjoyed the enchiladas and flautas - both were flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The restaurant also had a very clean ambiance, and we really appreciated the service and hospitality. Everyone was welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better after a long day of driving. Definitely a place we'd stop at again if passing through Green River! read more

Very good food. Service was fast as the place was almost empty at 9pm. As we sat here they got another 5 tables I believe because they are open until 10. I confused the waiter but overall the meal was wonderful! Would come back again when we are in town. Bathrooms are clean. Restaurant has lots of seating and parking is large as it is next to a gas station. We were able to pull in and out with ease with our motorhome and trailer. read more

The food was delicious, with great presentation and wonderful service. On a weeknight at 7:30 PM ours was one of only a few tables occupied, but the front of house was charming and our server brought out homemade candy for our kids. The owners and staff obviously take great pride in their work and their food, and we enjoyed the experience. read more

Arrived in Green River too early for Ray's so found El Charro Loco. What a delight! Charming, friendly, efficient service, clean everywhere, fun old school Mexican decor, authentic music, and easy to find. Oh, the food! Nice presentation, generous portions, fresh vegetables, great flavor! It is obvious the owners and employees care about what they're doing. My family and I stayed around this area at the campgrounds down the street the night before. When we packed up we were just hoping to get any kind of food we could before a long roadtrip. We were NOT expecting how good this food was going to be. The food here was AMAZING! I'm from San Diego and this Mexican food is among the best I've ever had. It was top notch. The only place I've had better burritos was IN Mexico. The portions were amazing and the presentation of the meal was way better than I could have asked for. The last beautiful detail was that they decorated wonderfully for the holiday. The heart and attention this family puts into their business is why I love supporting local businesses. Stopped by here after arches. Portions was great. They had super good salsa and chips, fresh out of the oven and tasted just blended. The fish tacos were mid, not the biggest fan of double shelled flour tacos. Burritos were alright, the salsa lacked in flavor. There was no rice, pico del gallo, rice or beans - nothing fresh to balance out the flavor. The enchiladas were amazing though - highly recommend. We stayed in Green River as our base while exploring the Swell, and loved our meal here. The green enchiladas and steak fajitas were absolutely delicious. The green sauce had an excellent depth of flavor, and the fajitas were near perfect. Definitely request the spicy salsa which isn't overly spicy and has such great flavors.
