I am Asian.... so I have high expectations for Asian food. I came on a Saturday afternoon at 12pm…read moreand the place wasn't busy at all. I knew what I was in for so was not surprised. Wagamama is a chain the UK for pretty passible Asian food in Europe. So really 4.5 stars for Asian food starved traveller who's been away from amazing Asian food for almost 3 weeks, more like 2.5 for true Asian food rating. To the food, my husband ordered the chicken katsu curry which is a pretty safe order that he has had before. It is a more consistent choice on their menu. I hear they change their menu every now and then. I had their yaki udon. I almost wanted to try their ramen but their chefs and servers couldn't tell me if they used authentic ramen. lol. They said it was brought up from London. Their udon was fine. It wasn't Sanuki udon for the record. I do like to visit Wagamama when I am in the UK for my Asian fix as they are a safe bet so I will be there again.

What to say here? Mixed reviews. If in the area it is good Asian fusion. But their are some…read morecaveats. You can see my review from 3 weeks ago, little different experience. Don't order the juices! They are watered down. The waitress tried to say that they are not or that it is due to the carrots here in Scotland.. what? I've had the the carrots and Scotland and they are not 50%wafer. And also don't order pad Thai unless you want bland.. Now, I ordered the ramen bowls and they were really good. Also the chili margarita was tasty. The service was good but don't try to justify watered down juices. Sorry we make our own juice and it is obvious. Anyhow give your own feedback if you check it out. Pretty trendy Asian fusion place. So I'll have to check back.

I had urges to try hot pot for a very long time but always had excuses to avoid it. This was…read moreclearly a bad plan as this hot pot restaurant was fantastic. When I first entered, it was busy. The smell of the combination of different broths and foods filled the air. It did make the room a bit warm but that's to be expecting in a room filled with boiling pots. After sitting down, we were quickly explained how to order on the menu and left alone. We ended up with a dual pot of hot and spicy broth and of tom yum kung broth. I'd like all of the meats and vegetables we ordered but it's best to say that the options were plentiful and I was able to get fresh shellfish. Yes, I could even get seasonal crab, razor clam, and scallop. It didn't take very long for the pot of broths to come out, along with the giant plate of foods we ordered to go along with it. I'm a big eater and even this looked overwhelming to me. And the quality of food matched the quantity. All of the vegetables were clearly freshly cut and the shellfish was clearly fresh. It was a very fun experience to cook foods in the pot. Occasionally they'd come around to add more water to the pot as it boiled off. They also offered to bring us more food. I never needed it but it was good to know I could get it. In hindsight I could have used more crab because it was clearly worth the price on its own. I really would want to go back. It's not exactly a cheap place but at £16.99 per person it was such a good experience that I'd happily go back.

I ate so much fish, even more than when I was at those restaurants I had in China! They also give Chinese lots of other genuine Chinese food as an add-on for free: steamed buns, roasted beef, chicken feet, ice cream.... Lots of appetizers! We had great memories at this restaurant. I would definitely come back whenever I return to Glasgow! What's more, they have Karaoke for free!

I bloody love it, so as soon…read moreas I heard this place had taken over the dumpling inn spot I was very keen to get in and try it ASAP. Trudie M and I dropped in for a spot of lunch today and we were not disappointed. The menu is simple, about 20 rice dish options, a couple of congee ones and a couple of noodle ones. This is a cafe style place, nothing to fancy, but the food had tonnes of taste and the staff were extremely friendly. All the dishes are 7.50 a go, you get a huge bowl of rice and your chosen topping. I had salt & pepper pork loin and it was tremendous. The pricing is also great. We got loads of food and two tsing Tao for just 22 quid. We were really full and left very happy. The food tasted really fresh and actually sort of healthy to. Another great addition to the ever growing Chinese restaurant scene in Glasgow. It has lots of stiff completion already, but for me it is 5 stars of course... But you probably could of guessed that.

The restaurant is casual - a good place to pop in for a quick meal, it's nothing fancy though. There was a group of us so they seated us at a round table in the middle which had stools which wasn't totally ideal but as I said, we were just in for a quick meal. The menu is simple - mostly rice dishes with a couple of noodle/congee dishes. I ordered aubergine and pork with rice for £7.50 and was really impressed - a big portion and really filled me up after a day of drinking. Staff were friendly, the vibe was relaxed and the price was very reasonable. Even including a couple of beers I think it was about £12 each. I'll definitely be back.

I've been a fan of Banana Leaf for many years. Prior to its refurb at the end of last year, the…read morerestaurant itself was really shabby and kinda run down - awesome food though. We recently popped in with some friends a couple of weeks ago - and I'm impressed. The refurb has worked wonders. It's managed to retain the friendly atmosphere it previously had, but now has a bit of style to go with its substance. As it's a traditional Malaysian restaurant, the tables are set with chopsticks. Ordinarily I have no issue using them, but I've a health issue that causes my hands to shake, so I asked for a fork. And I got this, delivered with quite a smirk. I'm not justifying in a restaurant why I needed a fork, but I wasn't particularly happy with being (innocently, I'm sure) belittled in this way. I had chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce to start with - really tasty, in a properly cooked, 'falling off the skewer ' kinda way. For main, I had kung po chicken and steamed rice. This was AMAZING! And much spicier than I had expected. Overall the staff were really attentive and the food was awesome. I'm knocking 2 stars off: one for the fork thing; and the second for only having one toilet (it gets really busy here).

I could eat in this place every single night!…read more I am not sure I have enough words to cover how good this place is. Ok so here goes. For starters we ordered the platter, but only for one person which was plenty and the Salt and Pepper squid. I would recommend the salt and pepper dishes every time, they are that good! For mains we tried to do the whole lets share but when we both tasted our dishes we didn't want to give them up! We got a Braised Beef curry ( spicy!!) and Salt and Pepper scallops! Oooo mmmm geeeee! Nice! We also ordered 2 portions of rice, Which seemed to be more than enough. As we watched more people being served their food we noticed they seemed to be all doing the same thing which was ordering your own portion of rice and then sharing all the mains with veg as well. The only negative thing I would say (and I really don't want too) they don't have a great selection of beers that are local to their cuisine, so we both selected the tiger beer. I really want to mark this place higher than I can. 10 stars for me!
