The very good in general: Presentation of food - gorgeous. Flavor and freshness of food - spot on. Amount in servings - the $15-20 dollar dishes we got were each enough for two people to fill up on. So we essentially had four meals on our hands. The very good in particular: Excellent Boba Teas. I prefer their Thai Tea Boba. The Calamari (especially its breading) was very good. The Crispy Noodles were very good. I love the way they sear the beef in dishes like the Crispy Noodles. The food came out piping hot. The quibbles: While I love how they sear the beef in their dishes, I've found their chicken tends to be too dry. Your mileage may vary; this may be your thing. If you are one of those people cursed as I am, for whom cilantro tastes like soap, it seems like Korean/Viet food uses a lot of cilantro. So when you are ordering a dish, even if it doesn't say that it has cilantro, it may come sprinkled on top as a garnish. Ask before ordering. read more

I've been to Chopstix before and enjoyed it but my most recent visit left me wanting. I ordered the Special Combo Pho, which comes with all the good stuff like tendon and tripe. The unfortunate part is that when undercooked, both tendon and tripe are tough and really hard to chew, let alone enjoy. Such was the case with this meal. While, overall, it was a pretty good pho, it's just disappointing that it could have been better seeing as how I didn't have this problem when ordering the same thing last time. read more

I'm not familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, but my choices at Chopstick's arrived fresh and pleasing. The spring rolls were exquisite. The phu was piping hot with lots of fresh garnish--juicy bean sprouts, fresh sliced jalapeños, a handful of basil, and a half a lime. The third dish was a special fried rice made with shrimp. The fifth star was held back for a poor follow up in service. Well before I finished my meal, the check was placed on the corner of my table. This made it awkward to order takeaway or the tea to go. We really, really love Asian style cuisine. Thai, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc. You name it, we love it. We just moved back to Chattanooga after 12 years in Nashville, where we lived in the epicenter of ethnic cuisine within the city (Nolensville road). We've been missing our favorite Korean joint, so we stopped in to Chopstix Saturday afternoon shortly after opening. They have bubble tea! With boba! I didn't try any this visit, but we were very excited to see they had several flavors. I ordered the bibimbap with beef - sadly, it isn't dolsot (served in the sizzling hot stone pot, like we're used to), but it was still a solid bibimbap, just could have been a bit hotter. Lots of good veggies, and not too much rice, which I appreciated. It came with a bowl of clear broth (mushroom, maybe?) which was unexpected, yet surprisingly delicious. Really loved that broth. My husband is on the hunt for Chattanooga's best Pho, so he ordered the beef & meatball pho. He said it was good, but maybe slightly under Rain's pho - less meat, slightly less flavorful broth. If you're looking for a good bowl of pho in the Chattanooga area, this is the place! It has a decent menu that centers around Vietnamese food. If you are looking for Korean food, you'll have to ask the waiters (at the time of this review Korean food wasn't added to the menu). The portions are good for the price you pay. The quality of the food is excellent and you can tell that the chef knows his/her craft. They're also willing to modify your dish (within reason of course). The boba is very good quality and there is a good variety of flavors to choose from. The service is also excellent! The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. Whoever designed this place did a really good job! -greeted at the door with no wait time. -servers and waitresses were genuinely kind and very thorough. - the food came out quick and on time with no awkward wait time between meals. -the food itself was delicious and the calamari was much bigger than anticipated (Check our the picture). Cons: -I got full too fast and wish I had more room to add more food. I absolutely love everything about this place. Its a small restaurant, with a tiny bar when you enter, and the service is great. I've been here several times, and wanted to wait before doing a review, and can honestly say I have never received anything that wasnt delicious. As far as appetizers go, I have tried the Bahn Mi (beef and BBQ pork) they are delicious on their nice fresh baguette, with pickled carrot, radish, cucumber and cilantro. The portion sizes are ample and very fresh. They have several noodle dishes, and they are ample as well. The Lemongrass vermicelli and BBQ pork are both family favorites here. The grilled pork chop is very moist, flavorful and served with a side of steamed rice. The star item, on the menu for us, is their Pho (pronounced as "fa") The chicken Pho is good, but the best in my opinion is the rare beef Pho. A large bowl, served with jalapenos, bean sprouts, Thai basil, cilantro and limes on the side and add a little chili oil and hoisin sauce and you have the best bowl of Pho in Chattanooga! I've had the house fried rice, which is huge and full of flavor and the Bulgogi (Korean BBQ marinated beef) and beef Bibibap too. As far as drinks go, well, you cant go wrong. From a nice and refreshing Bubble teas, to the iced vietnamese coffee, all are refreshing. Their prices are extremely reasonable and will keep you coming back for more! My husband, son, and I went to Chopstix last night for a Father's Day dinner. It was fantastic! We shared a couple orders of the fresh spring rolls (one pork, one shrimp) and they were fresh and delicious. My husband had basil fried rice with tofu, my son had lemongrass vermicilli with chicken, and I had the combo pho. Everything was delicious, although I will get a different pho without the tripe next time (nothing against the dish, just a personal preference). Pho was just what we needed after a long day of climbing and hiking outside! With a couple of major food allergies in our group, we knew pho was probably a safe choice for all of us. This is my 2nd visit to Chopstix Viet bistro but my first review. My first encounter was a pick up Togo order and i was not impressed with lack of seasoning, small portions, and they forgot my dish sauce for my vermicelli therefore i wanted to have a sit down meal inside before i would leave a review. I'm glad i gave them a second chance because now I'll have more than one option and a closer option for my Vietnamese/Korean cravings. I came at around 2 for a late lunch and i was the only one in the restaurant. I was immediately sat in a fair size dining area with approximately 15 tables. The ambiance was great and i loved the decor. They even had a nice looking fish tank that had random cute Knick knacks. Since I use yelp at all times to choose my restaurant and food choices, i had a good idea what i wanted when i sat down. I have seen they had Korean options on their yelp picture page but when i was given the menu i didn't see them so i asked and was greeted with several different Korean options. I opted for the bibimbap and their kalbi. Guys the portions were ginormous. I had these leftovers 3 additional time so 4 meals for what i paid wasn't too bad. I believe the meal was like $35 totalish. I also ordered their milk tea and it came with boba. The drink was great and i slurped it down rather quickly. It looked big from the diameter but it was short and stout and for about $5 i wish there was a little more. The food was perfectly cooked. Fresh and lots of veggies, even banchan was served. They had kimchi which was my favorite but it was okay, these weird beans or peanuts that were too hard to eat. They also served me a mushroom soup that was a great start to the meal. I stopped in for lunch because I was tired of going to the same old place close to my office. I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and how nice the interior was. Located a stones throw from Champy's, this place doesn't look like much from the outside. Just your run of the mill strip mall Chinese restaurant. However, step inside and feels like a completely different space. An upscale contemporary decor restaurant. Nicely done! I waited for a few minutes to get seated. There was only one waiter who was serving and working the register. I'm guessing the owner. Once seated, I ordered a bowl of beef pho. I no sooner than handed the menu back to the waiter then he was back with my order. No kidding. At first I thought he was coming back to clarify my order or ask a question. I thought to myself...well service is certainly swift! So I dug with my soup spoon and chopsticks. My second surprise. The soup and noodles were great! The bowl was enormous. Two people could easily eat a belly full. My only quibble was the beef and meatballs. It's not a taste thing but a texture presentation issue. The meatballs were cut into chunks but were rubbery. The beef looked like it was sawed with a dull knife instead of sliced by by a skilled chef. Again, not a taste issue but a presentation issue. So excited that we have several choices in the area now for Vietnamese cuisine, specifically Pho. If you've read any of my reviews then you know I'm a fool for Pho (pun intended). Chopstix is brand new here in town. Located on Lee Hwy next to Champy's. It's a cute little spot. I've seen the sign saying "coming soon" for months now and thought it would be a generic Chinese fast casual type place but was very pleasantly surprised when I passed by last week and the final sign was up, with the name, "Chopstix Viet Bistro". YES!!! I stopped in the other night, excited to try their pho. The space is bigger than it appears from the outside and it's decorated very elegantly. Dark wood colors with teals, green, blue accents. I sat in the main dining area where there are some booths and tables. There was one other couple in there and then later a group of people came in. The menu has a good selection of some popular Vietnamese dishes, but of course I was interested in the pho. Was a little surprised that they only had 3 choices, beef, seafood and chicken. I hope at some point they expand upon the different types they offer. I chose the beef pho and also the winter rolls. The rolls came out quickly and they looked nice. I was happy they had the peanut dipping sauce. A couple of observations, the rolls weren't cold, sort of room temp, which with it having shrimp, they should be cold. Also, they were loosely packed and had a lot of lettuce in them as a filler. When I took a bite, they sort of fell apart. They weren't bad, but I've had much better. The pho came and the bowl was HUGE!!! This had the sliced beef and Vietnamese meatballs in them. The broth had a light beef flavor to it. Very clean and refreshing, more like a chicken broth. I would like it to be a bit more beefy. I should have asked if they had the beef paste to add to it. I added my choice condiments of hoisin and sirracha, as well as the bean sprouts. I tend to make my flavors a tad sweet and spicy. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had culantro and well as cilantro. Culantro is a long, narrow green leaf that adds another nice herbal element to pho. The beef slices were a bit tough and pieces were inconsistently sized. Some were very small and some were very big. Also, the meatballs were a tad dense and chewy. Overall those are just minor observations on my part as a Pho snob and did not take away from my experience of the soup. It was still really good and I couldn't finish it all it is so big! I will definitely go back and try their other two pho selections as well as other dishes. Oh, they also serve the Vietnamese coffee, hot or iced. Oh my!!! Again, I'm so happy to have more than one choice for Pho. Thanks for coming to town, Chopstix. read more

Shared a variety of dishes. We would highly recommend the short rib bahn mi. The meat had a nice charred flavor, and the toppings were fresh with a bright pickled flavor. The kimchi fried rice with chicken was nice and spicy and the chicken very tender. Looking forward to topping left over fried rice with a fried egg and enjoying it a second time for breakfast. Pho broth was delicious and comforting. Shrimp Spring rolls were also a winner. The portions were generous. The place is legit. I come from the land of plentiful pho so it was nice to find a good pho place here in Chattanooga. The interior design elements are very nice and the place looks clean. I am not sure the pho is vegan, but they say it is vegetarian... which means it can not be made with chicken or beef broth right? I am hoping it is vegan because it is very good. We also ordered the Banh Mi sandwich. Slight issue with the kitchen not getting the order right on two visits. First time was ordering the tofu Banh Mi with no mayo. It came with mayo.
