I "ate" here in mid December. This is exactly what I expected from a downriver Michigan American-Chinese restaurant. Even if you haven't had quality Chinese cuisine, you'd know this place is terrible. Save yourself the disappointment and look up the closest Panda Express for American-Chinese. Hell, I hate Pei Wei b/c the meals taste synthetic and the flavors are all off, but I'd even suggest you go there, take out your money, then throw it in the garbage can. Don't order any food, just throw your money in the trash. You'll be better off. I got the almond boneless chicken and honestly it wasn't anything out of the ordinary chinese restaurant fare. If you are in the need for some chinese take out and you live in the area then go ahead but don't go out of your way to eat here. Also, the prices that came on the final bill were different from the prices that came on menu. The other two people who ate with me told me there meals were just ok, nothing spectacular. Service was a little below average and the knowledge of their menu was lacking. We also asked for a beef gravy for the vegetable lowmein and were told they didn't have anything like that except the table next too us who got beef lowmein ended up with a beef gravy. Ordered carryout on the lunch menu. Very small portions, but worst of all the general tao's chicken I orered was disgusting. Small pieces of chicken soaked in a thick slimy too sweet brown sauce. Chicken fried rice, more like soybean fried rice was completely flavorless. The consistency of the sauce on the chicken was so wired, I couldn't finish it. This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant. My family has been coming here for over 15 years but lately something has changed the food is no longer the same. Even though the new owners said they have not changed the recipes nothing tastes the same. The fried rice now has huge chunks of onions and so many sprouts you can't even taste the fried rice. Last time ordered I couldn't even eat the fried rice. Why change something that has worked for so long? I used to compare every Chinese restaurant to Chopstick Inn and tell everyone about it, now I have no desire to ever go back. read more

Went on yelp to find a decent chinese place, there were bodies inside so I was hopeful, normally no one sitting inside a chinese restraunt....carry out! I got sashuzan chicken...it was fine, no rave, just ok, hubby got chow mein,he liked it....yes the egg rolls are good, and hubby like the beer ;-) , we'll be back! read more

I am writing an update because, though I still like this place, I feel my last few visits have been lackluster. This last time, my Vegetable Lo Mein had NO flavor. None, Zilch, Zip! I was beyond disappointed. My egg roll was a bit overcooked as well. The Crab Rangoon was made well but that was about it. They still have great service and I will go back. I just feel that lately, they are playing it too safe with spices. In turn, their food has become a bit boring. Hopefully, they will read this and get back in the game. read more

I have been spoiled for life by Chopstick Inn. I can't eat Chinese food anywhere else, it always pales in comparison. Everything is good, service is fast, and the owners, the Wongs, are some of the nicest people ever. Highly recommend!! read more

They'd get 5 stars but I swear when you place an order the woman ALWAYS says 15 minutes and it's NEVER 15 minutes. Add no less than 10 minutes to your order. Decor needs work and the wait sucks ass but for the most part the good is good and reasonably priced. read more

Ordered take out the other night. One bite of General Tao's chicken and it went in the garbage. Sauce tasted metallic, like it was straight out of a can. BF got some bland brown gravy meat dish. Very unimaginative and greasy. Will never order again. read more

This place is by far the WORST Chinese food I have ever eaten. Where to begin? I had been eating there for 30 years, many years ago that stopped due to quality of food becoming so poor it was inedible. We decided to try it again after a long hiatus. What a mistake. We arrived for early dinner, we had to get the attention of the two small children, apparently working front of the house who were enthrawled with watching cartoons. We were seated, a very nice waitress took our orders. Soup arrived. That was fine. Egg roll, again, fine. Then the entrees arrived. Almond Chicken was leftover from the night before. It had been deep fried twice, dried out, over browned and the ends were like peanut brittle. And I find it very odd they put beef based gravy on chicken. The rice was at least a day old. It was dry, had a musty taste and it was slightly crunchy. The sweet and sour sauce is from a can. Which is expected in an Americanized Chineses restaurant, however is was so condensed it was as thick as petrolium jelly. One in our party literally vomited at the table. As we were leaving, business was picking up. Small child #1 was answering the phone, taking orders and cashing customers out. Small child #2 was bringing out take out orders......in between catching glimpses of above mentioned cartoon. The only adult we saw was our waitress, who by the way was waiting on all the tables.
