Delicious, always call ahead, but plan to call 40ish minutes ahead of when you want to pickup.

General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, and Crab Rangoon

Was looking for a new Chinese take out place and we decided to try Asia Express after reading the good reviews, and so glad that we did. Like others have stated, the portions are enormous! We ordered General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Crab Rangoon, and a Spring Roll. The entrees were enough for 3 full meals for my wife and I. Everything tasted great and was piping hot even after getting it home. Employees were friendly on phone placing my order, and when we picked it up. Definitely looks like a dive from the outside, but the food does not disappoint. It is now our favorite Chinese place in the area.

Asia Express needs to get rid of the red dye they use in all their deep-fried chicken dishes. It's very unappetizing!

I REALLY wanted to like this place because it used to be on my way home from work and there's not many takeout options in the area. The meals we ordered the first time were not that good, the chicken was dry and hard in many bites I took, and the dumplings were burned. This was the first time I ever had General Tso chicken that was red (red dyes?) and that decreased my appetite too. It just didn't look appetizing. That was about a year ago but I was again passing through here and wanted Chinese. I figured I could try a lemon chicken or orange chicken, assuming those wouldn't have red dye in them. However, they don't offer those in combo meals, only as stand alone bulk items. Huh? Why would they limit the food options for their customers? Surely it would still be a profitable option for them. So I told her I didn't want food that is red and she kept suggesting the non-deep fried dishes which is not what I wanted. If I'm going to have a cheat day, I'm going all the way. So I said thanks and called up Shong Hey, which is way out of my way, but they know how to get it done right and the portions are huge. (see my picture of what General's done right looks like!) I doubt the owners will read these reviews but if they do, PLEASE consider the concerns I raised, I would love for you to be my primary Chinese take out place. I think you could generate a lot more business if you were open to making some changes.

Word of mouth even by the most reliable sources can yes I said it..can be misconstrued... Go figure.. As stated in my prior review (last night) word on the street was Mr.and Mrs.Lee, are retiring.. however I visited tonight and yes there is some truth to it but not quite the whole giddy up. The Lee's, are looking to retire but want to make sure they leave their legacy to the right individual...got to respect that.. I sure as heck do. The cusine the Lee's serve is nothing less then excellent. For real they are a carry out place, however the quality in my opinion beats even most upscale places. The spicy Lo mein is amazing best ever I like spicy but they offer regular as well. I've tried many dishes here, tonight was the ginger garlic shrimp which was excellent: eggroll crisp and delicious as well as amazing soups: chicken rice, hot and sour are fabulous. To boot the Lee's, are just excellent people who love what they do and its obvious by the quality of the food. This like noted before is a small hole in the wall carry out, however packed with a bunch of heart and amazing flavor. However it plays out, Asia Express is rocking downriver and hopefully whoever takes over..they will continue The Lee's legacy and do them proud.

one of the thick pieces of mess

Had Almond chicken lunch meal comes with plain fried rice some kind of egg roll with this thick yellow gooey jello looking gravy on the side okay now on to the remix almond chicken meaning old dried up extra thick crust with hard chicken meat on the inside with new pieces of almond chicken with crust on the outside and thick raw dough on the inside now the taste less 2 tone so called fried rice with some kind of mushed on the inside egg roll the worst of several Chinese foods I have ever had could not even eat this mess a waste of money

    Almond Chicken. Yummy gravy..huge potions

Well took a different route home from work and was deciding what I wanted for dinner. I knew I…read moredidnt want a hot and ready pizza so I saw the sign for this place a few feet past it. I pulled into the strip mall which is getting to be the norm anymore for chines restaurants, and decided to go in. Judging by no cars I assumed either it was bad or they were primarily take out. I decided to sit inside and eat because I didnt see any pics on Yelp about it so I decided I would take a shot of my meal. At first I thought it was a very small place with a few tables but noticed there was a section in the back that had the lights off probably for bigger groups. The waitress came over right away and got my drink order and I sat down. The menu had the typical Chinese fare, nothing stood out. The atmosphere was clean but barely anything on the walls. There was a big fish tank with a couple gold fish and guppies swimming around. I decided on the Almond Chicken combination with egg drop soup. It also came with chicken fried rice and an egg roll, the kind with the bean sprouts that I like. I asked about the gravy on the almond chicken and she said it was the yellow gravy but I could have the brown so thats what I chose. Service was fast almost too fast. Usually I eat my soup then my egg roll comes. My dish came and it was a large portion on a plastic oval dish. My pop came in a can also. The brown gravy was poured on top, so I wish I would have had it on the side. Just dont care for soggy pieces. The rice had a good flavor, as did the soup. It wasnt thick and congealed like some places. And he egg roll was good also. I liked that they had the white pepper I seem to like that better at times. My first taste of the gravy was something tasted off a bit. I usually taste everything separate to give a full review. It tasted like a spice I recognized but not over powering. After a couple bites the taste disappeared and it wasnt distinct. It almost was like maybe a hint of cardamom or something. It was still good though. The batter on the chicken was a little thin but still tasty. All in all I had a good meal. Wasnt the best I have eaten but wasnt the worst either. I would go back, the prices are great for what you get and the service was friendly.

Says Under New Management - It is not the same. The egg rolls were so awful, they need to change…read morethe oil they are frying them in, it was horrible tasting. Won't go back ever.

1st review in awhile. Why on this place you wonder? Few reviews and there isn't much around this…read morearea. The few rap this place got were mixed that I wasn't even sure myself. Thinking if I review the place, it could aid your decision making (or not). Wanted something quick & close. The joint is small with only a couple of tables. Decor is lacking. The kitchen seemed clean enough. Mom in the kitchen nodded & smiled. Cute. The Food: - Combination Chow Mein (soft noodles) $8: wasn't bad. A bit on the oily side & it had a strange scent/taste I could not pin. - Double Combo $8: comes with an eggroll, blah tasting. Pork fried rice was good. This did remind me of NYC Chinese food. Beef & Broccoli, decent. Broccoli had the nice crunch of fresh broccoli not being overly cooked. Sauce was so-so. General Tso's Chicken was NOT soggy by the time I brought it home. Sauce was decent. That strange scent mentioned earlier was detected in each dish. Could it be from the wok or the oil they use? The gal behind the counter was sweet in taking my order. Told her how "I love spicy!" so spice 'em up please. Glad I asked her for extra chili sauce b'cuz it was nowhere near spicy. Overall the food was alright (American-Chinese). Been to worse. I'd order from here again just out of convenience.
