I love Korean food and have a mission to go to every Korean restaurant in the UK (or at least most…read moreif them!). Angel is pretty authentic and serves real Korean food. They have a massive menu, serving both Chinese and Korean cuisines. The bibimbap here is excellent, you can choose your protein between beef, chicken, tofu or seafood and it comes lovely steaming hot in the earthen bowl along with the essential bibimbap sauce which is also on the tables if you need more. The portions are on the huge side so you could easily share a dish. They have a few kimchi dishes including a kimchi set, so kimchi lovers will surely enjoy. The restaurant is located up a stairs beside a Chinese buffet place, and is open pretty late until 10pm. It's massive inside with lots of round tables and appears to be very popular with Asian customers too from when I visited. Overall, if you're looking for some good authentic Korean or Chinese, I really recommend Angel. The staff were lovely and very helpful, they also were nice to explain things on the menu.

There is nothing more disappointing than turning up to a restaurant to the appreciate and enjoy their food, but ending up being refused at the door. I truly hope the Angel Restaurant improves on their service and acknowledge that this is not the applicable way to treat customers.

I booked easily online which is recommended if going on a Saturday night as it's not very big but gets quite busy. The portions are generous and although the menu isn't as extensive as some other places, it has a great variety like bibimbap, noodle soups, various starters and a drinks. The service was good, staff were very friendly and the atmosphere is great for a date or a party. Prices are very reasonable too.

This is overall the best Korean food experience I've had in Manchester. For a start out unlike some other places you automatically get complimentary banchan - excellent kimchi and a delightful sweet soybean dish I hadn't tried before. The Korean seafood pancake was quite eggy but that texture actually worked well with the crispy spring onions and chewy squid. Fantastic spicy dip as well. The beef bibimbap was excellent (I notice another review says she preferred eatGoody's - to me they were around the same but I just take this moment to say the Manchester Uni is really blessed to have 2 excellent Korean joints, unlike anywhere else in the city!) and they leave the red chilli sauce with you so you can get the mix exactly to your taste. Prices are reasonable and while it wouldn't necessarily be an everyday lunch it's definitely somewhere you could afford fairly regularly. As other reviewers have noted this is very small place and although we got seats straight away, arriving before 12 on a Wednesday, I think arriving later you could well end up waiting. However I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place which at the moment I would say is the top choice for anyone wanting to eat Korean food in Manchester.

The atmosphere is very casual like a cafe, so it's great for lunch as well as dinner. Overall, authentic and tasty Korean food that's well priced and made to a great standard.

Was just expected normal deep fried stuff and just with small amounts of prawn in it - and it was deep fried but was tasty and definitely had real prawns in it. Maybe a bit too much garlic? I personally not the biggest fan of kimchi but did try each dish. Not really my cup of tea. The sweet and sour spring onions were nice and the mashed potato dish was OK - was quite sweet. (Also really liked the dipping sauces! Asked waitress what they were and she said one was Korean sauce and one was "Korean BBQ" - bit generic!). On to the "main course" and the beef, belly pork and spicy chicken. My fav and the fav of the table was the beef. Full of flavour, tender, yummy! The belly pork was also good. By the time we got to the spicy chicken I was really full. That was the best I could say for it however. The noodles were your basic instant ramen, which is fine. The tofu has red chili powder on it and yet wasn't spicy and barely had any flavor. The kimchi tasted like stewed cabbage. Don't get me wrong, I love cabbage. It just wasn't what I had expected. It was missing all of the tangy spicy depth of flavor I usually associate with kimchi. My dining partner had beef bulgolgi bowl which was much better, with interesting flavors and different colors. The restaurant is odd, with the entrance off of a hard-to-find side alley. It was very dimly lit which made it hard to see what you were eating. The staff were friendly and the service fast.

On a good note though, the sauce was amazing! I imagine that if the fish were properly cooked and deboned, it would have been worth the £20.
