Etsu is a delicious Japanese restaurant in Liverpool, it's pretty good for lunches as well as for a more formal evening meal. The first time I went, I popped in for lunch and ordered the bento box which was yummy! I recently went for dinner and the quality was just as good as the first time, which I was thrilled about, I ordered the pork dumplings to start and then the Sashimi which was very strange... not in a bad way, I'm just not sure if I like raw fish. I had the chef's special, Bailey's cheesecake for dessert, which I managed to squeeze in, and that was also delicious. The staff are sort of what you would expect in a restaurant in Japan, very calm and chilled out no matter how busy the place is. They're very polite and helpful, excellent service.

As my previous reviews will testify I am always bowled over by independent family owned restaurants. These humble abodes are as refreshing as mints after a spicy meal. As refreshing as a big oak tree's shade on a sizzlingly hot day. As refreshing as a wave of water caressing your feet as it dances past you on a white sandy beach. I love them!!! It comes as no surprise then that I hold Etsu in very high regards. The owner of the restaurant has firmly placed his time and efforts in to bringing authentic delicious Japanese cuisine to Liverpool. In the modern age of chained monotone restaurants, this simplistic way of thinking I regard as bold, and absolutely fantastic. I must admit I am still bit of an amateur when it comes to Japanese food, with Pakistani, Italian, Chinese and Thai all featuring higher in the pecking order. However I am coming taste buddies with the Japanese food. For a long while I was in the camp "How can you eat raw fish??". However not long ago after giving it a try I was converted, to a certain extent anyway!! With over 15 appetizers and main courses to choose from as well as a big range of sushi dishes, noodle dishes and Japanese curry there is plenty to keep everyone happy. I cannot recommend highly enough the thick juicy Udon noodles which get me salivating at the mere thought of them. The Soy ramen noodles come in at a close second, the thinner egg noodles carry more dense feel in the mouth which is just as appetizing. The feel of the restaurant is fresh and clean. The consistency in attention to detail is evident the moment you walk through the door, from the service, to the decor right down to the food itself. As if I haven't made myself clear already, Etsu is a Japanese Gem nicely placed in Liverpool's crown which makes it shine that much brighter. So if its Japanese you're after Liverpool can definitely accommodate. Booya!!

Holy crap this place is delicious!!!! Not even kidding...some of the best noodles I've ever had in…read moremy life. We were cold and tired after a day of touring and on our way back to the train. We saw Ichi Noodles and HAD to stop in. It's tiny with only one table and a small counter, but you won't care. You'll stand patiently waiting for your order while taking in all the delicious aromas. I had the teriyaki beef and my hubby had the chicken (can't remember specifically), but both were absolutely great. We ordered the "value" size which was more than enough food for one person. Just love this place and wish I could eat here every day. Thanks for a great meal! Definitely recommend you whole-heartedly!

So apparently ichi Noodle in Liverpool will flat out refuse to serve someone, (without giving any…read morevalid reason why) if you ask if there are nuts in certain menu items if your ordering for someone with a nut allergy! Didn't apologise, or tell me why they can't serve me, or even check the allergen list in their kitchen and tell me that their food isn't nut safe, just "no we can't serve you". Wouldn't even serve me after that if I wanted food for just myself! I'd have understood if they would have told me why they can't serve me, but just got a rude flat refusal of service. Always loved their food, but won't be going back after that. Bad customer service, and clearly there must be lots of cross contamination if that is the only response they are willing to give!

I would say every Yo Sushi I have been to are all the same...which is a good thing...staff are very attentive...this helps having a button at your table which signals for them to come over...and the menu is plentiful.. I personally love the sashimi ..so I ordered lots of this at once..and grabbed a grey (£5) plate full of different types of salmon ..it is better value of money to get the grey plates because if you order maki, nigri and sashimi it would cost you more than £5... This was washed down with hot sake ( which tastes better heated )..the sake menu is not extensive..offering only two types...but hey what do you expect from a chain... I personally felt quite comfortable having my solo sushi feast,,because I admit when I go for sushi I am not sociable...to talk would give me less time to stuff my face with maki... Overall a very tidy, good atmosphere place to be....you just have to be careful counting the plates as you go along...as Yo sushi is not the most cheapest of places in comparison to such places as Wasabi....and it can be easy to get carried away..

Do NOT waste your money.... I'm sure the workers are…read moretrying their hardest, but the concept is trash. They give you two slices of sushi and charge you 5£ for each dish. When you eat sushi, you want high quality fish with an amount that will fill you up... Since you pull from a conveyor belt they add up quickly. We spent around 100$, on something that wasn't even worth 100$. There are by far better places to choose from for better sushi. Don't be blinded by the "train" style sushi. The selection is awful as well... same thing comes around over and over again... and again. Boring and bland.
