I was very complimentary about the Teppanyaki in Manchester. The pattern looks to continue with this branch of the trio of restaurants. First impressions are everything, and this restaurant blends the authenticity of a traditional Japanese decor with the contemporary modern. Th lighting is relaxed and slightly dimmed to give centre stage to the chefs to perform heroics and take centre stage in the melodrama that is the live round table cooking experience. Dining here really is as theatrical as it gets. On a busy weekend it is much like an amphitheatre where crowds can be heard far beyond the premises, ooing and aaaing to and fro. The food is the icing on the cake and the key to the enjoyable experience lest you forget is the quality of it. Seeing all those fresh ingredients sizzling away before your eyes creates a great sense of anticipation. You know it looks fantastic, you know it will taste fantastic and you wait and when it does land on your plate and you do sink your teeth into it, that split second starts that dominoe effect of satisfaction through your body. Whether its noodles, sushi, tempura or even a steak you go for, you will not be disappointed. I personally am a massive fan of the Yakisoba egg noodles, fried on the teppan grill with mixed vegetables with yakisoba sauce accompanied by a selection of meats (Chicken breast for me please!!) Now all that is left to do is check out their offering in Glasgow, cannot wait!!!!!!!

Sapporo Teppanyaki is Liverpool's high-class destination for Japanese cuisine. If you fancy an extravagant night of fun and entertainment with your partner or to spend with family and friends, this is your prime pick of the bunch. The reason being, is because preparation is pure entertainment as expert chefs flaunt their skills and creative flair ensuring every meal is a theatrical performance. I would suggest this restaurant if you want to be spoilt but certainly not if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a few bites that probably won't fill you. It is definitely an expensive restaurant for an authentic taste of Japan. What you are getting, is an exceptional service and fresh quality food but not quantity.

If you like a show along with your food then you will like Sapporo very much indeed as entertainment is a massive part of the dining experience here. This place specialises in having show chefs who not only prepare your food before your very eyes but do it in quite some style too which is a fantastic sight. My favourite thing about Sapporo is that you see your own food being prepared and this gives you the confidence in it which is unrivalled. To see your food made with such panache gives an indication as to the passion which really epitomises this place. Not too forget that the food tastes bloody good also. The atmosphere here is unique and as such it is one of my favourite eateries in Liverpool. This place gives you a meal and a show all in one and this is fantastic.

I would say every Yo Sushi I have been to are all the same...which is a good thing...staff are very attentive...this helps having a button at your table which signals for them to come over...and the menu is plentiful.. I personally love the sashimi ..so I ordered lots of this at once..and grabbed a grey (£5) plate full of different types of salmon ..it is better value of money to get the grey plates because if you order maki, nigri and sashimi it would cost you more than £5... This was washed down with hot sake ( which tastes better heated )..the sake menu is not extensive..offering only two types...but hey what do you expect from a chain... I personally felt quite comfortable having my solo sushi feast,,because I admit when I go for sushi I am not sociable...to talk would give me less time to stuff my face with maki... Overall a very tidy, good atmosphere place to be....you just have to be careful counting the plates as you go along...as Yo sushi is not the most cheapest of places in comparison to such places as Wasabi....and it can be easy to get carried away..

When you eat sushi, you want high quality fish with an amount that will fill you up... Since you pull from a conveyor belt they add up quickly. We spent around 100$, on something that wasn't even worth 100$. There are by far better places to choose from for better sushi. Don't be blinded by the "train" style sushi. The selection is awful as well... same thing comes around over and over again... and again. Boring and bland.

Cheap and good sushi, what more could you ask for?…read more This was previously (and briefly) part of an attempt at a chain of 2 restaurants by Crazy Wendy's Thai in West Didsbury. Doring Sushi Bar has had a temporary sign up since opening at the tail end of last summer but I hope they are here permanently. I love sushi and I especially love low priced sushi! I had a platter of mixed sushi for £10 which I thoroughly enjoyed and didn't have left overs as I planned. My friend got salmon with edamame and rice and gave it a good report back. They also have the usual Japanese fare of chicken katsu, gyoza, etc on offer. I went on a quiet Wednesday lunchtime but I imagine this place us doing well in the evenings as Chorlton needed a sushi place, I now realise. The service was very friendly and the right level of attentiveness. There was an 80s mix CD on with the likes of A-ha and Cyndi Lauper which also pleased me. So, basically, I was a happy lady and I will return very soon.

Sign me up!…read more My friend came to visit and requested sushi because sushi is what you eat while on holiday according to her, and so I jumped at the chance to try Doring for the first time. We grabbed a table outside - beware the love seat, it is not very comfortable - and set about planning our feast. I can't remember everything that we ordered but we had some gyoza and edamame to start and then had an array of sushi and sashimi. All delicious, and the portions are pretty generous for the price. I was worried that we hadn't ordered enough, my friend was worried we had ordered too much, but it turned out to be a pretty satisfactory amount. We shared a bottle of house white wine which was perfectly fine. We also had some sake which I didn't love, though maybe I am just spoiled after the recent Yelp event featuring sake. The service was not great. Our waitress was very nice but seemed totally flustered. Thankfully as we were there for a nice leisurely meal this didn't bother us too much. Overall I really rate this place and I'll be back!

So, when offered a chance to dine for free during their soft launch week, I couldn't resist! The restaurant is welcoming, with a small outdoor patio area covered in astro-turf, looking absolutely perfect for some summer drinks. Unfortunately for us, it was a grey and rainy day, so we headed inside. The reception desk is slightly to the left and not in your direct eyeline, which felt slightly odd; it appears they have split the interior between bar and restaurant. We were shown to a table towards the rear of the space - and directly in between two other full tables. It being their soft launch week, it was empty, so why sit us directly next to other people? It felt odd. I hope they change the table numbers when properly launched as they were simply printed on card and looked very last minute - a shame to detract from the shine everywhere else. Our waitress was very bubbly and introduced herself, explaining the menu and bringing our complementary glass of prosecco over. The place mats become the menus - and my is it a big menu! Everything is on there (breakfast through to a selection of sushi) so it felt quite overwhelming. Despite this, the drinks menu is nowhere on the table, and they have separate cocktail and wine/beer options. Menus galore! We had a main and dessert each - pork belly with a side of broccoli followed by the chocolate pave for me, the Vincent burger and sticky toffee pudding for him. The pork was delicious and had the right balance between meat and fat (essential for a good belly!) and the pea & ham hock croquette served alongside was brilliant. The burger looked good, with a nice pink colour, and the fries were lovely and crispy. The chocolate pave was tasty, especially the peanut ice cream served on top, but the caramel popcorn seemed at odds with the dish. The stick toffee pudding went down very well - comfort food at its finest. Overall it was a good meal and I'd recommend for special occasions if you're in the area. However, it would have been an expensive meal - we're talking £15-£25 for mains - and the food was just 'good'. Perhaps we'll revisit in a few months and let them settle...

I'm pretty sure Steven Gerrard can afford to pay his staff correctly without charging customers over the odds. If anyone had asked me how the service was, I'd have told them - excruciatingly and frustratingly slow, considering there were only 5 tables seated in the whole place by the time we left. It's counter-productive to charge this mandatory service charge - despite being unhappy with the service, and given no opportunity to discuss it, I'd probably still have tipped more than 10% at my ACTUAL discretion because I'm stupid/nice like that/used to American tipping. The food was all right - nothing exciting, bit under seasoned. The decor was nice if you like that wine bar feel. But I wouldn't rush back unless I had several hours to spare, to wait for the staff to get their act together

We had some tasty sushi, a small noodle dish and a large chicken yakitori bowl. One Diet Coke all in all £38 including £3 for the Coke. It's now the main English holiday period so the entire outlet was crazy busy and finding a parking space was challenging. We are at least into week 4 of our holiday but it could be week 5 - that's the joy of holidays, not only do you forget what day it is, you start not to know (or care) what week it is, and with an open return ticket to home who knows when our noses will turn that way. We have an inkling of when we need to go home and funnily enough it's to go on another holiday in the west of Ireland then one to Croatia via Athens and Venice. My nearest and dearest oft say my life's a holiday so may as well prove them right. The way of ordering Yo food has now changed here and just on the day we were there - 25 July 22. If you take of menu the wait staff take your money when you order and most of your food is served by staff but one noodle dish did arrive by belt and stop before us. If you feed from the belt it's still pay at the end. Almost no food passed by us on the belt for the entire time we sat there so maybe they are trying to reduce waste and that's a good thing. Service was impersonal, chaotic, haphazard and too fragmented for our liking. Our noodle dish was ordered as vegetable but chicken arrived - maybe it was my accent but I didn't bother calling the wait staff in the chaos; and having paid up front we upped and left well fed.
