Good quality food in good quality surroundings that is exactly what you get at buffet star. It is the kind of place that does exactly what it says on the tin. The website boasts over 60 different type of dishes and this is not an exaggeration at all, the food is diverse and delicious.Infact the main complaint here is that you cannot get round trying all the food you would like to as there simply is not enough space inside your stomach. The mix of chinese and thai is effortless great classic dishes curries, chicken balls, noodles ect none of it dissappoints. Neither do the prices £6.90 for a lunch time buffet at the weekend is an insanely good price especially when you consider the quality of the food, the surroundings and the service. On the subject of the service the staff are amazing they are helpful, attentive and informative basically all round good people. If you like chinese you will like Buffet star and if you love Chinese food you will find a new home at Buffet Star. I guarantee that one visit will ensure that you return time after time

Out of all the Chinese buffet style restaurants in Liverpool, Tso's is probably one of my…read morefavourites because they have such a wide amount of offerings during the lunch time buffet menu for just £5.95 per head between 11.30am-4pm. If you're not too bothered about the food and just wish to 'eat as much as you want' until you're full, then Tso's is a great place to come whether you're alone or with friends and family. The food is actually quite decent for a buffet. Afterall, Tso's is the original oriental buffet in town with over 10 years experience and remains a popular dining experience. At peak times, it does get crowded with a mad rush, so I wouldn't suggest going in a hurry during these times. Apart from that, you can't really go wrong with the service, environment (which is pleasant) and prices which are affordable.

Resting above one of the best places to get Cain's ales, Tso's offers a decently sized Chinese…read morebuffet. It's not the largest, tastiest, or most well presented, but it does what it does well. And that is this: getting your stomachs achingly full of greasy Anglo-Chinese staples (i.e. noodles, cripsy duck, ice cream with canned fruit at the end). Of course the food is not nearly as good as it would be at a sit down restaurant or even at a take away, but it's cheap, there's a lot of it, and sometimes that's exactly what you want. It can get crowded quickly and chairs bumping into each other is common. Also, watch the clocks, because you can be sure the waiters are. You go just a little bit over from lunch time to dinner, BAM, you're slapped with the dinner price. Don't bother with the drinks. Water is free and if you still have a thirst for something more once you're done stuffing your face, go downstairs to Doctor Duncan's for some of the finest brews the city can offer.

Upon walking in, tops looks like your average buffet, and of course in hindsight - it is. However,…read moreI have been to a few different buffet places and although in a similar ball park, Tops smashes each and every one. Here is why: The food - although cooked in bulk - is always hot, fresh and full of flavour. They even have tepinyaki, sushi and much to my delight - steak!!! Cooked just how you like it right there in front of you. As I am not a fan of spicy foods i didnt try alot of the curries but there was a very wide selwction to choose from for those of you who are not as wimpy as I. The service - staff are very polite and helpful and VERY attentive! We had no longer finished our food and dirty plates were almost immediately taken away to be cleaned and allow for the next course. Water is available at the bar as a self service option so that you dont have to wait in a queue just for the sake of washing down your food. Price - the price for an adult is around 15-16 pounds which gives you all you can eat (within an allocated time slot which changes depending on day of the week but can be up to 3 hours if im not mistaken) Also, student discount at 15% takes the price down to £11.90 which is fantasic for those of you poor students who aim to get your money's worth.

My first impression when I walked into it was that it was a really beautifully designed restaurant. I'm used to buffets in the states being very rundown and basic looking, but I will say this place was actually quite beautiful and you can tell there was intentionality placed into how they decorated it. However, I have been depending on Wi-Fi during my UK trip and everywhere that I've gone, they've always had Wi-Fi, but this is the first restaurant that I've seen after almost a two week trip where they do not have Wi-Fi for customers so that to me was a bit of an issue. They also didn't have the best customer service. I won't say the workers were rude, but I just felt like they could've been a little friendlier, especially with some of the logistics of things at the restaurant...Things could've been a little bit more customer friendly. The food was pretty good definitely not amazing but I generally enjoy buffets so it didn't disappoint but for sure it wasn't the most amazing food or buffet food I've ever had so again this place truly deserves three stars to me.

I will say none of the options are overly spicy, so if you are looking for heat, you might need to visit elsewhere. Although I was a bit skeptical at first when my friend brought me here because usually this type of posh and über trendy restaurants serve water down Asian food for non-Asian folks. I know how authentic Thai food tastes like because I have been to Thailand and I hang out with Thai friends who taught me how to cook Thai food. Contrary to my low expectations , I was pleasantly surprised by the succulent massaman & chicken green curry. I thoroughly enjoyed all the food I've tried and I was impressed with the sophisticated and contemporary decor as well. This is a great choice for any special occasion, it was the perfect location to meet up with my old friend whom I haven't seen for more than 20 years.
