Good quality food in good quality surroundings that is exactly what you get at buffet star. It is the kind of place that does exactly what it says on the tin. The website boasts over 60 different type of dishes and this is not an exaggeration at all, the food is diverse and delicious.Infact the main complaint here is that you cannot get round trying all the food you would like to as there simply is not enough space inside your stomach. The mix of chinese and thai is effortless great classic dishes curries, chicken balls, noodles ect none of it dissappoints. Neither do the prices £6.90 for a lunch time buffet at the weekend is an insanely good price especially when you consider the quality of the food, the surroundings and the service. On the subject of the service the staff are amazing they are helpful, attentive and informative basically all round good people. If you like chinese you will like Buffet star and if you love Chinese food you will find a new home at Buffet Star. I guarantee that one visit will ensure that you return time after time

I will say none of the options are overly spicy, so if you are looking for heat, you might need to visit elsewhere. With my group, I managed to sample nearly everything and recommend the duck in any form. The coconut rice is also just awesome! The staff is friendly and attentive. They are more than willing to offer suggestions as well. Finally, don't forgot, if you have a birthday in the group, the staff will be more than glad to embarrass them with attention and a song!

Although I was a bit skeptical at first when my friend brought me here because usually this type of posh and über trendy restaurants serve water down Asian food for non-Asian folks. I know how authentic Thai food tastes like because I have been to Thailand and I hang out with Thai friends who taught me how to cook Thai food. Contrary to my low expectations , I was pleasantly surprised by the succulent massaman & chicken green curry. I thoroughly enjoyed all the food I've tried and I was impressed with the sophisticated and contemporary decor as well. This is a great choice for any special occasion, it was the perfect location to meet up with my old friend whom I haven't seen for more than 20 years.

Holy crap this place is delicious!!!! Not even kidding...some of the best noodles I've ever had in…read moremy life. We were cold and tired after a day of touring and on our way back to the train. We saw Ichi Noodles and HAD to stop in. It's tiny with only one table and a small counter, but you won't care. You'll stand patiently waiting for your order while taking in all the delicious aromas. I had the teriyaki beef and my hubby had the chicken (can't remember specifically), but both were absolutely great. We ordered the "value" size which was more than enough food for one person. Just love this place and wish I could eat here every day. Thanks for a great meal! Definitely recommend you whole-heartedly!

Didn't apologise, or tell me why they can't serve me, or even check the allergen list in their kitchen and tell me that their food isn't nut safe, just "no we can't serve you". Wouldn't even serve me after that if I wanted food for just myself! I'd have understood if they would have told me why they can't serve me, but just got a rude flat refusal of service. Always loved their food, but won't be going back after that. Bad customer service, and clearly there must be lots of cross contamination if that is the only response they are willing to give!

If your image of an almost city centre Thai restaurant is swish, contemporary and minimalistic -…read moredon't come to Siam Garden. The decor is very traditional, which isn't necessarily a negative, it just depends on your tastes. The somewhat tacky gold statues etc. are dotted around the place, and the wallpaper is out of this world. I've been here a couple of times, the most notable was on a Friday lunchtime when I popped in for something to eat with a couple of friends. I had two courses for £5 or something silly like that. The food was lovely, exactly what I expected - even if it did arrive suspiciously quicky...

The menu is ppretty big with probably about a hundred dishes if i was to hazard a guess. If you're an avid Thai cuisine fan you already know the score as to what is on that menu...you got your satays, green chicken curry, mixed seafood with chilli and basil leaves, hot-and-sour beef salad, etc etc What you might not expect if you've been here is the strangely named goong bikini (crispy king prawn pancake rolls with sweet-and-sour dip), or the Chiang Mai 'golden sausages, as well as the whole sea bass cooked with lemon grass and tamarind. The decor again is what you'd expect from a Thai place, slightly cheesy, for me anyway, but welcoming and ambient. If you have already tried Chaophraya then give this a whirl, you'll be impressed with the quality of the food and service and will be few pennies the wiser.

If you're not too bothered about the food and just wish to 'eat as much as you want' until you're full, then Tso's is a great place to come whether you're alone or with friends and family. The food is actually quite decent for a buffet. Afterall, Tso's is the original oriental buffet in town with over 10 years experience and remains a popular dining experience. At peak times, it does get crowded with a mad rush, so I wouldn't suggest going in a hurry during these times. Apart from that, you can't really go wrong with the service, environment (which is pleasant) and prices which are affordable.

And that is this: getting your stomachs achingly full of greasy Anglo-Chinese staples (i.e. noodles, cripsy duck, ice cream with canned fruit at the end). Of course the food is not nearly as good as it would be at a sit down restaurant or even at a take away, but it's cheap, there's a lot of it, and sometimes that's exactly what you want. It can get crowded quickly and chairs bumping into each other is common. Also, watch the clocks, because you can be sure the waiters are. You go just a little bit over from lunch time to dinner, BAM, you're slapped with the dinner price. Don't bother with the drinks. Water is free and if you still have a thirst for something more once you're done stuffing your face, go downstairs to Doctor Duncan's for some of the finest brews the city can offer.
