The service is average bit efficient, the food came quite quickly and another good thing is that banchan is served complimentary here, which doesn't seem to be the case with many UK korean restaurants. They also have some Japanese dishes on the menu like sushi, gyoza, temaki and teriyaki. There is parking right outside and it's pay and display but very cheap: 50p for 30 mins and £1 for an hour. The atmosphere is very casual like a cafe, so it's great for lunch as well as dinner. Overall, authentic and tasty Korean food that's well priced and made to a great standard.

The seasoning hadn't permeated the squid at all and just left a greasy yet chalky residue on my tongue. Boiled rice was, you know, whatever. It's not something I ever personally choose (feels like a waste of time, money and calories) but it was sort of added to the order in a "and how many portions of rice would you like?" way. Fukuu is located right at the back of Hatch, over in a corner on the left hand side. The unit itself is really quirky with big neon lettering and lots of those beckoning cat figures. We had both with rice but you can also have fries as an option. There are lots of drinking options at Hatch - we went for a beer from Öl around the corner, but they also sell Asahi at Fukuu which is maybe the cheapest beer on site? There's some seating inside and some more outside, but since you're under the Mancunian way you're not going to get rained on. That was the best I could say for it however. The noodles were your basic instant ramen, which is fine. The tofu has red chili powder on it and yet wasn't spicy and barely had any flavor. The kimchi tasted like stewed cabbage. Don't get me wrong, I love cabbage. It just wasn't what I had expected. It was missing all of the tangy spicy depth of flavor I usually associate with kimchi. My dining partner had beef bulgolgi bowl which was much better, with interesting flavors and different colors. The restaurant is odd, with the entrance off of a hard-to-find side alley. It was very dimly lit which made it hard to see what you were eating. The staff were friendly and the service fast.

It came with lots of cucumber which isn't really my thing, but it was hot both in a spicy and temperature way so it really did the job for me as it was freezing outside!
