My son even told them on one what the check engine light was going to be just by listening and at first they thought he was wrong and seemed a little irritated that we even ask about it.

I am African American, born in NC and have lived abroad and on the West Coast. I was called in to an interview with Mr. Bono in November of '25. Mr.Bono is a 15 year current management employee of the dealership. I dressed business casual for the meeting. Mr. Bono's first words were and I quote "You sure are overdressed for an interview with a bunch of "rednecks" The majority of AA's and other ethnicities, including Caucasians outside of the south, definition of "redneck" is southern bigot, coupled with a history of racial violence and prejudice. Then Mr. Bono chose not to interview me for the position I actually applied, and was actually overqualified for but the least in the sales department.., you know were the guys stand outside and accost you when you drive up to view a vehicle. I've done Mr. Bono's job multiple times in the past. It's almost to unbelievable to believe, such a southern stereotype. Aren't we done with this type of ignorance yet? I guess not. My rating is based on the aforementioned.

READ FAST.... THEY KEEP HAVING REVIEWS REMOVED…read more Let me just start this by telling you "Buyer Beware". There is not one decent car on that lot. That being said, my son, who is 19, bought a truck from there. It's a 1996 Ford F-350, 7.3 Turbo Diesel, Power Stroke Dually. He paid $14k for this truck. IF the truck had been in perfect shape, well worth the money. Now, he was was trying to be an adult and do things on his own, and unfortunately he got taken advantage of. The truck was sold "AS IS", which is pretty typical. He knew this and that part is not on the dealership. Here is where the issue comes in. The truck ended up needing $6k of work. Literally, SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS. There was another $450.00 that came along after the original quote. That was for a fuel lift unit. I reached out to ask for some help thinking they would do the right thing, but they weren't interested. They don't care that they took advantage of someone 19 years old. It took them almost a week to even get back to me about my request. By that time, I had reached out to an attorney who was willing to take the case, as the dealership fraudulently passed the truck in an NC State Inspection. They passed the brakes, and the truck barely had any brakes, which we knew, which means THE DEALERSHIP knew and still passed it. Same with the parking brake, which we DID NOT know until after paperwork was signed. The exhaust was cut off right behind the cab of the truck, which we didn't know until we got it up in the air. While diesels don't have emissions testing, the exhaust should still be in tack and not "tampered with". Yet it passed the NC inspections test. In addition, the reverse lights didn't work. NONE of that should have passed the NC State Inspection that was done on October 2, 2025. Papers were signed around November 1st for the purchase. They had a month to correct things. In addition, the turbo was blown. That alone was $1k. All of this being said, again, I had an attorney willing to take the case for fraud, however, my son was upset enough that they were such crappy people to him. So I opted to set myself on fire to keep others warm in this case, and not add insult to my sons injury. We are car people through and through, but diesels are a bit foreign to us. This being the case, we know things can go awry, but I gave the dealership a week to get back to me on assistance with the cost of the repairs. All I asked for was $2k. That would have at least helped with the things that SHOULD have been caught upon inspection. This behavior was absolutely unacceptable. They are crappy people selling crappy cars. It was owned by the Sage family according to SOS records, it is now owned by another individual (Fritz Carrier). I'm not sure when that transfer happened. I had to gather all of that information for the attorney. The dealership is shady to say the least. And whoever is passing vehicles there should probably step away from that job as the truck shouldn't have passed. And while I know the dealership will come back with some nonsense about this situation, there is ZERO excuse for not responding to a customer for a week. And at the end of the day, they don't care who they take advantage of. It's more about lining their pockets than being good people. Upon further research, they've been fraudulently passing vehicles for a while. Also be sure to check out the BBB information. How they have ANY good reviews is beyond my comprehension! I would assume they're paying people.
